"Indeed, a gift!" Vihaan exclaimed, handing a paper to Shubhra, but Adwait swiftly took it from him.
"What is this?" Adwait demanded, his gaze narrowing at the brown file.
"Open it and see!" Vihaan declared, his smirk growing.
Adwait opened the file, scanning the contents. Shubhra peered over his shoulder.
"What does it say?" she inquired, catching a glimpse of the stamp paper bearing a legal stamp.
"Mr. Rajvansh is giving you power of attorney for his hospital," Adwait disclosed.
Sanya, who had been silent, interjected, "Why are you giving her your hospital?"
Vihaan's gaze shifted to Shubhra. "Perhaps Miss Basu can explain?" he ventured.
Sanya's eyes widened. "Who is Miss Basu?" she queried.
Vihaan simply pointed at Shubhra.
Sanya's eyes narrowed. "Wait, isn't your name Anisha Chauhan?"
Shubhra rolled her eyes. "You should read some newspapers and update yourself."
Sanya's gaze lingered, connecting the dots. "Wait, you're the girl in the recent news with Adwait? But they call her Miss. York."
Vihaan chimed in, "York is her mother's last name, Basu her father's."
Sanya turned to Adwait, who stood silent, lost for words.
"It seems like you're dealing with some real shits!" Sanya exclaimed.
Shubhra's glare turned icy. "He's happy with whatever mess he's in; you should care for yourself!" she snapped, mocking Sanya.
Adwait refocused on the matter at hand. "But I still can't understand why you're giving her the document."
Shubhra's expression turned resolute. "Because it's my father's company."
Vihaan nodded, satisfied. "I'm glad you know. It's time for me to leave, as I've done my part." He departed with Sanya.
Adwait's brows furrowed. "What's going on?" he asked Shubhra, who stood lost in thought.
"I don't know!" she exclaimed, frustration boiling over. "A few hours ago, Vihaan wanted to kill me, and now he's handing me my father's hospital!"
Adwait's skepticism deepened. "Are you even telling the truth? You always lie or hide it!"
Shubhra's voice rose. "So what if I do? Why should I tell you? Did you always tell me the truth?"
Just then, Ishwari Randhawa stormed into the house, Ridhika following closely behind.
"What is going on here?" Ishwari thundered, her eyes flashing.
Adwait and Shubhra flinched, caught off guard.
"You two are getting married tomorrow, and yet you're fighting like cats and dogs in the main hall! Do you have any respect for your elders? Have you lost all common sense?" Ishwari lectured.
Adwait and Shubhra stood silent, unable to refute her words.
Before Ishwari could continue, Abhyant intervened, entering the hall with Suhas.
"What's happening here?" Abhyant asked, his brow furrowed.
Ishwari turned to him. "These two are at each other's throats, and they're supposed to get married tomorrow!"
Abhyant's gaze shifted between Adwait and Shubhra. "What's going on? You both seem to be at odds."
Adwait hesitated before speaking. "It's just a misunderstanding, Father."
Shubhra crossed her arms, her expression unyielding. "That's not entirely true."
Ishwari intervened, her voice firm. "Whatever it is, it can wait. You two need to focus on your wedding preparations. Tomorrow's ceremony will proceed as planned."
Abhyant's eyes narrowed. "I expect you both to resolve your issues before tomorrow. We can't afford any more drama."
Shubhra's jaw clenched, but she remained silent.
Ishwari asked Shubhra, diverting the topic, "Did everyone from your family arrive?"
"Most of them," Shubhra replied.
"Hmm, good. Did you pack everything you'll need?"
"Yeah."
Adwait's eyes narrowed. "Pack? What packing?"
Ridhika chimed in, "She's going to stay in the hotel for the rest of the rituals."
Adwait's confusion deepened. "But why?"
Ridhika shrugged. "It's a ritual, and besides, it's good you two take some space. Aur waise bhi, aacha hi hai thori der alag rahoge toh muh ye phula hua muh apne aap thik ho jayega."
Adwait's scowl deepened, understanding Ridhika's veiled reference to his argument with Shubhra.
As others entered the hall, Adwait reiterated, "It's just a small fight. If we stay separate, how will we solve our misunderstandings? Isn't it better if she stays here and we continue the rituals?"
The room erupted in laughter. Shubhra's eyes widened, her mouth agape.
"What the hell is he saying? Does he really think anyone would buy it?" she thought, incredulous.
Ariv popped out of his room, grinning mischievously. He had been watching from afar, waiting for the perfect moment to intervene.
"C'mon, bhai, can't you stay away from bhabhi for even two days?" Ariv teased, earning chuckles from the others.
Adwait's glare silenced him, but Ariv's eyes sparkled with amusement.
Vidharth wrapped his arms around Adwait's shoulders, chuckling.
Adwait rolled his eyes, shrugging off Vidharth's playful gesture.
Ridhika grinned. "Looks like someone can't bear separation!"
Ishwari intervened, still smiling. "Enough, kids. Shubhra will stay at the hotel tonight, as tradition dictates."
Shubhra nodded, relief washing over her.
Abhyant added, "Let's focus on the wedding preparations. We have a lot to do before tomorrow."
The room buzzed with activity, but Shubhra's mind lingered on Adwait's words.
Adwait stood dumbfounded at the sudden change of events. Vidharth glanced at Shubhra and stiffened.
"Ohh!! Sorry!!" he exclaimed, retracting his hands from Adwait's shoulders and gazing at Shubhra with mock horror. "I shouldn't touch your husband!"
Shubhra teased, smirking, "Very well, or I wouldn't have minded chopping them off and washing him with acid!"
Everybody burst into laughter.
"Brother, save me!!" Vidharth fake-sobbed. "I'm your first love, na! Look how dangerous your wife is!!" He hid behind Adwait, clutching his shirt.
Abhyant intervened, his serious tone leaving no room for discussion. "Enough of the taunts! The rituals begin tomorrow; let's get some rest.... Ava will stay with York's."
"Come with me, Adwait!" Abhyant called, and Adwait hesitantly followed him.
