Happy Rakshabandhan to you all 💓💓

The morning unfolded in silence, punctuated only by the occasional lectures Adwait received at the dining table.

⏳⏳⏳

Riva sauntered into my cabin, making herself comfortable on the sofa chair.

"When do you think we should meet the board members?" she inquired, her tone nonchalant. "You should announce your ownership of Lucas now that your uncle is no longer in the picture."

"It's still not the right time. And I specifically asked you to investigate G.T. Corporation - what's the update on that?" I responded.

I raised an eyebrow, awaiting her answer, my eyes narrowing slightly in expectation.

"Oh, I did check on G.T. Corporation," Riva began, "and they're planning to launch a massive new project. However, there's an issue with it."

My interest piqued, I sat up straight. "What project is that? And what kind of problem are they facing?"

Riva's expression turned serious. "Apparently, G.T. Corporation wants to pull out of the collaboration due to accusations of financial manipulation against Randhawa Industries. But the truth is, G.T. has strong connections with the Singh group."

My eyes narrowed. "Are the Singh's business rivals of the Randhawa's?" I probed, sensing a deeper plot.

Riva nodded, "Yes, they are. And it seems like Singh's are using G.T. Corporation to sabotage Randhawa's reputation and gain an upper hand in the market."

"And the fact that the Randhawa and Malhotra families are now sworn enemies only adds fuel to the fire. Several international companies have already severed ties with them, and it's getting worse by the day."

I leaned back in my chair, twirling it slowly as I processed the information. "But didn't they compromise?" I asked, recalling that I had made sure SLY Corporation could no longer interact with Randhawa's.

Riva's expression turned somber. "They did, but the damage was already done. The rumors had spread, and now your marriage to Adwait is being seen as a liability, bringing him down with you."

I stopped twirling my chair and sat up straight, my eyes locking onto Riva's. "So, I'm the reason," I stated, my voice firm, seeking clarification.

Riva realized the impact of her words and straightened herself in her chair, trying to rectify her mistake. "Hey, I didn't mean it like that! What I meant to say is that Adwait's marriage to you, instead of Sanya, has created a huge stir. People don't know who you are or what your background is, so it's causing a lot of uncertainty!"

I sighed, understanding the situation. No wonder Adwait didn't want to go to the hospital. If news of his health issues spread, it would only add fuel to the fire.

Riva's next words sparked a glimmer of hope within me. "You can help them!" she suggested, her eyes filled with encouragement.

I leaned forward, eager to make things right. "How?" I questioned, determined to find a solution. If I was the reason for this mess, then I should be the one to fix it.

"We were also vying for that project, which features a revolutionary new car model that surpasses many of our previous projects. Randhawa Industries holds the patent, and we could sign a deal with them. Even if we pay G.T. Corporation on their behalf, we'd still reap significant benefits. Plus, I'd get to exact revenge on that arrogant CEO of G.T. Corporation, who humiliated us when we lost the deal."

Riva's words painted a vivid picture of the situation. I had some knowledge of the project, but hadn't delved too deeply into it. Several board members had privately emailed me, expressing their discontent.

"It sounds like a win-win situation," I said, intrigued. "Go ahead, but are you certain the board members won't object?"

I wanted to help, but needed to ensure I could mitigate any potential losses.

Riva's face lit up with excitement. "No way! Those old men were grumbling when they heard we lost the project. They'll be overjoyed when they find out we've got it back. Trust me, they'll be thrilled."

"Hmm, alright! Go ahead, and one more thing..." I paused for emphasis.

Riva looked at me expectantly, "What?"

"I will personally oversee this project!" I declared, my voice firm.

Riva's eyes sparkled with excitement, and she flashed me a bright grin. "Great! This will be beneficial for both Randhawa Industries and Lucas," she exclaimed, already envisioning the success.

With that, she hurried off to begin preparations, leaving me to ponder the potential of this newfound collaboration. I was determined to make it a success, not just for the companies involved, but also to prove myself as a capable and influential leader.Since, this would be my first time leading a project, having previously only mentored others. The weight of responsibility settled upon me, but I was always ready to rise to the challenge and demonstrate my capabilities.

⏳⏳⏳⏳

As soon as I walked inside the home, maa said, "Ava, you're back!"

"How was your day, dear?" she approached with concern etched voice.

"It was good!" I replied, not wanting to go into details.

"Good to know! Get freshened up and come to the kitchen," she instructed.

I nodded and headed to our room to change. Adwait was sitting on the bed, leaning against the headboard, his eyes fixed on his laptop screen.

"You're early today!" I observed, trying to make conversation.

"Yeah, there wasn't much work," he clarified, not looking up.

"Yet you're busy," I pointed out, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah," he responded, still focused on his screen.

"You were sick, not even a week has passed!" I reminded him, concern creeping into my voice.

"Don't worry, I'm fine," he assured me, finally looking up.

"Who's worrying about you?" I grunted, trying to sound nonchalant, but feeling a pang of frustration.

I passed by him and went to change, feeling a sense of disconnection. I wanted to discuss the business deal with him, but it didn't feel right. We still had a long way to go before we could share our business lives with each other but we had made a good progress in our private life that's for sure. And the worst part is I was the one not to share first since I still hadn't told him about Lucas so, I couldn't even complain about it, since I was getting a taste of my own medicine. I sighed, feeling a mix of emotions.

After getting refreshed, I went to the kitchen, where Maa told me to prepare something sweet. We had discussed this earlier; she said we would do all the rituals again after marriage, just like we are doing now.

Had I mentioned about our marriage, which is going to happen after two months? Yes, Nonna and Aunt were supposed to come, but Nonna's condition became serious. So, Maa and Chachi went to Pandit Ji, and he gave us a new date, two months from now.

"Well, Ava, we're leaving the kitchen in your hands today! The food is already prepared; you just need to make something sweet. If you need any help, just call the kitchen staff."She instructed and left.

I decided to make ghevar, a sweet dish I absolutely adore. I've had a weakness for it for a long time - Once I even asked Riva to send a chef to make it for me! Eventually, I tried my hand at making it myself, and now I'm quite skilled at it.

I asked the kitchen staff to assist me, and they brought me all the necessary ingredients. Their faces were priceless as I expertly prepared and plated the ghevar. I guess they couldn't believe that I was making ghevar!

"Today's Ava's first rasoi, and she's prepared the sweet," Chachi announced, drawing all eyes to me. I smiled sheepishly, feeling my hands shake with nervousness. Damn, I was anxious!

"Ghevar! You actually prepared ghevar!" Chacha Ji exclaimed, his eyes wide with surprise. "And it actually looks amazing!"

"Is it edible?" Ariv joked, but his humor was met with glares from the rest of the family.

"If you don't want to eat it, then why don't you go and prepare something for yourself!" Adwait spoke up in a stern voice.

"Yeah! Go cook for yourself!" Chachu chimed in, scolding Ariv further. The poor boy looked at me helplessly, seeking rescue.

I intervened, trying to diffuse the tension. "Uhmm, why don't you guys try it and tell me how it is?" I suggested, looking around at everyone with a hopeful smile. The room fell silent as they hesitantly offered a small smile and nodded.

Just then, Adwait's phone rang, and he excused himself to take the call, walking to the corner of the room.

"It's really tasty!" Ariv exclaimed, breaking the silence and drawing my attention away from my husband.

"Really?" Vritika asked skeptically, taking a bite from her plate. But then her expression changed to delight. "Yumm! It's really amazing!"

I glanced around at the others, who had been hesitant to try my cooking but were now nodding in agreement. They had initially doubted my skills, but the consensus was clear: my ghevar was a hit!

"It's amazing!" Chachi praised, and the others joined in with their compliments.

My gaze drifted back to Adwait, still engrossed in his phone call, oblivious to the praise and accolades I was receiving. I felt a pang of disappointment, but pushed it aside, Who was I to complain, anyway? Since I was the reason for his distraction.

"Come here, dear!" Dad called out, and I hesitantly walked towards his chair. Maa handed me a jewelry box, and I opened it to reveal a stunning gold necklace inside.

"It's really beautiful. Thank you!" I exclaimed, though words failed me - it was truly breathtaking.

"It's for your pehli rasoi," maa told, beaming with pride, and I could see the smiles in their eyes.

"Come here and take this one too..." Chachi summoned, and I moved towards her chair. She handed me another jewelry box, containing a gorgeous diamond bracelet.

"It's so pretty!" I gasped.

"I'm glad you liked it," Chachi proclaimed, passing me a warm smile. "Are, chalo ab aashirwad bhi lo!"she added, chuckling.

(C'mon, now take blessings too!)

I touched the feet of all the elders, feeling overwhelmed with happiness. Receiving these gifts was special - it wasn't about the price tag, but the love and thought behind them.

I carefully placed the gifts in my side of the cabinet, feeling grateful and happy. Just then, I heard my husband's voice, finally complimenting me on my cooking.

"Ghevar was really tasty!" he babble, and I smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction.

"I know!" I replied, trying to sound nonchalant.

"Hmm! Are you upset?" he stumper, noticing something in my tone.

"Why would I be?" I responded, playing it cool.

"Why wouldn't you be?" he pressed on, sensing that something was amiss.

"I know I am the reason for this, na!" I uttered, turning to look at him, my eyes locking onto his.

He was taken aback by my words, standing there frozen, like he had been drenched in a bucket of water. Then, in three swift strides, he closed the distance between us and stood in front of me, taking my hands in his.

"Hey! What are you talking about? Huh!" he questioned, his eyes searching mine for answers.

"About the situation in your company, I'm the reason, right?" I uttered, looking up at him.

He gazed into my eyes, his expression softening, and placed a hand on my cheek, gently rubbing it with his thumb.

"Hey, it wasn't your fault, okay? You didn't do anything, and it doesn't matter what others say. You're my wife, my Grihlakshmi," he assured, his voice gentle and reassuring. "You can never bring any damage to me. Remember that."

His tone shifted from gentle to stern as he growled, "By the way, who told you about this?"

"I have my own resources," I responded, smiling mischievously.

"You seriously need to stop this nonsense thinking of yours!" he mumbled, trying to sound firm but unable to hide a smile.

"Got it, captain?" I winked at him, and he chortled.

I removed his hands from mine and headed to the bathroom to freshen up. After changing into pajamas, I entered the room again, only to find him engrossed in his laptop work once more.

"Are you going to sleep or not?" I poser, trying to hide my frustration with his ignorance.

"Just this one thing," he answered, not looking up from his screen.

I sat beside him, trying to sneak a peek at his work. "It will take time; you should sleep!" He suggested.

"Fine, then! I'll do my work!" I got up to grab my laptop. I sat back on the bed with my laptop and started checking my mailbox for important messages. Then, I read about a few tenders and the research projects we were going to undertake. One of them caught my eye - a new perfume using calone. I started reading about the key ingredients.

"Are you not done yet?" I heard his raspy voice, breaking my concentration.

"No, almost done!" I stated, not looking up.

"Let's sleep; it's already two in the morning!" he remarked, his voice laced with exhaustion.

I glanced at the time and groaned - it was late, and I had to wake up early for a meeting with the Board members. If Adwait accepted our proposal, we'd have another meeting to attend. "Yeah, let's sleep. I have some meetings in the morning!"

"Yup, wait!" he exclaimed suddenly, opening a drawer and pulling out a small box. "What?" I asked, curious, as he walked back to me.

"Here!" he handed me the box. I opened it to find a beautiful pair of silver ankle chains inside. "Woah!"

He sat in front of me, one leg folded on the bed, the other hanging down. "It's your gift!" he smiled. Despite the dark circles under his eyes and his messy hair, he looked great.

"Let's sleep now!" his eyes sparkling with exhaustion and affection.

I smiled up at him and commented, "Since you gave me the gift, you should put it on me too."

With bright eyes, he acknowledged, "Sure!"

He signals for me to extend my legs while he removed one of the chains from the box. I extended them in his direction, and he settled them onto his thighs. He then took his time wrapping the anklet around my ankle and did the same with the other.

I giggled as I moved my legs back and heard the anklets jingle softly. He laughed at my happy response as I kicked my feet on the bed.

He came and sat next to me on the bed, his movements gentle. "Let's sleep, or else you'll wake up the whole house," he whispered, his voice low and soothing.

Suddenly, he pulled me into his embrace, wrapping us both in the comforters. I was too stunned to speak, my heart racing with surprise.

His one hand rested on my back, the other holding the comforters in place. "Sleep, Ayla," he whispered, placing a tender kiss on my forehead.

The warmth of his body, the softness of his lips, and the gentle pressure of his hands all combined to lull me into a sense of deep relaxation. I felt safe, loved, and cherished in his arms.

⏳⏳⏳⏳⏳

The board meeting was a real showstopper. Those people went from mocking me to becoming my die-hard fans after finding out I'm the President of Lucas. At first, they didn't believe me, but I just had to give one of them a little demonstration of my power - I brought one of them to the brink of bankruptcy and then pulled back. That was enough to make them realize I wasn't kidding around.

"What's next on the schedule?" I asked Aniket, who was busy typing away on his laptop.

"The proposal was accepted by Randhawa Industries, and now they're just coming in for formalities to present their proposal," he explained, and I nodded.

"I got it!"

Aniket was one of my trusted allies, just like Matteo. I met them both at Phoenix, and they've been with me since our first mission.

"Mam, I need your help!" Amira burst into my cabin, panting like she'd just run a marathon.

"What happened?" I questioned, standing up from my chair, concern etched on my face.

"Riva mam!" Amira exclaimed, her eyes wide with worry.

"What happened to her?" I pressed, my voice firm.

"She... Let's go see for yourself!" She had already turning to rush out of the cabin. I followed her, my heart racing with anticipation.

As we reached the scene, I was shocked to see Riva and Vidharth engaged in a heated argument, grabbing each other's hair. Two men, including Caleb, were trying to intervene and separate them.

"What the hell is this?" I thundered, my voice echoing through the floor, silencing everyone present. I was mortified, and my face burned with embarrassment that should be felt by these two. This was MD's floor, so there weren't many people around, but still, it was a humiliating sight.

I glanced around, taking in the stunned expressions of Adwait and Janav, who were standing nearby, equally shocked by the scene unfolding before us.

"Who the hell gave you permission to enter?" Riva shouted at Vidharth, her face red with anger.

"The same person who allowed a person like you!" Vidharth retorted, matching Riva's intensity.

"Very well! Then they shouldn't be able to hold onto their position anymore," Riva spat back.

I stood there, dumbfounded, my temples starting to ache from their exchange. I rubbed the pads of my fingers against my temples, trying to ward off the impending headache.

"Enough!" I commanded, looking around at the gathering crowd. "Let's go to your cabin."

I didn't want this scene to play out in front of everyone. I dismissed the onlookers, "And you all, get back to work!"

Half of the people quickly scattered, returning to their desks. I ordered Caleb and Aniket, "Take the guests to the meeting room."

They swiftly moved to escort the visitors away. Adwait and Janav seemed reluctant to leave, so I told them to come along.

We entered Riva's cabin, and I motioned for them to take their seats while I sat in Riva's chair. Vidharth and Riva sat opposite me, their faces still red with anger.

"What the hell was that? Are you guys five years old? Grabbing each other's hair and fighting like cats and dogs!" I roared, demanding an explanation.

Riva spoke up, her voice trembling with emotion. "He said I'm not worth talking to. Can you imagine how humiliated I felt when he said those words in front of everyone? I felt like I'm just a pick-me-up!"

Vidharth retaliated, "That's because you behave like one!" They glared at each other, their animosity palpable.

I felt disappointed in Riva. "Are you Riva? How can you lose your cool over such a small thing?" I spoke, shaking my head. Just because he said some provoking words, she shouldn't be provoked. People often use this method to get back at you, and I expected more composure from Riva.

Riva remained silent, lowering her head in shame. Vidharth, on the other hand, smirked, but his expression faltered when I turned my attention to him.

"And you! What were you thinking when you dared to insult her?" I pointed at Vidharth.

"She said I couldn't meet the CEO!" Vidharth interjected. "I had an appointment with her to discuss a deal about a perfume collaboration, but her assistant said she couldn't meet me. And if I wanted to discuss further, I needed to meet her." He pointed accusingly at Riva.

"She refused to meet me and threatened to cancel the deal. I've already spent so much time, effort, and money on this project," Vidharth added, his voice laced with frustration.

I sighed inwardly; these guys were really troublesome.

"Riva, that was wrong. It could hurt our company's reputation, and he's Atulya's client. You couldn't threaten him. You're in the wrong here," I glared at her. Her behavior was unprofessional, and I couldn't believe she'd acted like that.

"I'm sorry," she muttered.

"Not to me, but to him," I corrected, and she looked reluctant but still apologized to Vidharth. A triumphant smile flashed on his face.

"And you! It's unprofessional of you too!" I turned to Vidharth. "If Atulya is the one in contact with you, then you shouldn't have insulted Riva like that. Only Atulya has the right to cancel the deal, and she wouldn't do it without a proper explanation!"

"I'm sorry," Vidharth apologised to Riva, his expression somewhat subdued.

I sighed inwardly, wondering how these people managed to work in this profession. Their behavior was unprofessional, and if word got out, it could be troublesome. I needed to ensure this situation was resolved and didn't escalate further.

I looked up to find Adwait and Janav standing, both staring at me as if they'd seen a ghost.

"Why are you guys standing there?" I questioned them.

Adwait cleared his throat, his voice tinged with curiosity. "Seems like we have much to talk about!"

Vidharth chimed in, his tone laced with skepticism, "Well, I don't understand how you managed to make her say sorry to me?" He shot a quick glance at Riva, his expression scornful.

Riva maintained her hateful glare, her voice firm. "Because she is the President of Lucas! Whether it's me or Atulya, both of us have to listen to her!"

Just then, Aniket peeked into the room, interrupting the tense atmosphere. "Sorry for the disturbance, Ma'am, but everyone is waiting in the conference hall."

"We'll be there. As for you, Vidharth, the deal is accepted, so we won't be backing out. In Atulya's absence, contact my secretary, and I'll take care of it. And you, Riva, think twice before doing something like that again!" I warned, leaving the room with Adwait and Janav following close behind.

Janav chimed in, "Well, these guys were amazing! I had just started to enjoy the drama."

I raked a hand over my face, and Janav joined me, walking side by side. "You love spice, don't you?" I voiced with a hint of amusement.

"Yeah, the day got an amazing start," Janav grinned.

"It was really something," I agreed.

"By the way, I never knew this company was yours too," Janav added.

"Let's go," I said, and we entered the conference hall, where the presentation is going to be presented.
