JUNE HADNT SLEPT. Her eyes were bloodshot red and extremely dry as she had kept them open all night. Her white tank top was lightly wet from her tears and overheating. God, she was so upset.

She was so worried about John B falling banging Sarah, which probably wasn't the case, while he was falling from a tower.

Her heart pumped into her chest as she looked at her window, the sound of birds chirping making her snap back into reality. What if he was really hurt? Where is Sarah?

More importantly, what's gonna happen with her and Kie?

They kissed. And then Kiara said some out of pocket shit about her best friend. Even though June was lied to, she was no fake friend. Now, her and Kiara probably despise each other more than before.

Flashes went through her mind of the whole night and remembering what Camila said to her. Why would she say that? How heartless could you be? I mean, she did put a knife to her throat but, that was long over-do.

A wave of anxiety shot through her bones at she heard a muffled ringing. "Hello?"

"Junes?" It was John B. "Oh my god. Are you good?" She shot ul at the voice, genuine worry thriving in her body, "Fine. Just come to the Kiara's restaurant." And then he hung up.

She shook her head, throwing her phone across the room in anger. She didn't know what was wrong with her. "Junie?" Her dad mumbled, speaking through her door.

"Come in." June spoke up, giving him a small grin, "You okay, sweetheart?"

"I'm fine, dad." She nodded, watching him sit down next to her. "I'm sorry. I wasn't hear for you last night, i heard about John B." June shook her head, "It's okay. JJ and Pope, um, drove me home." Her nodded, "They're trouble. That stunt you pulled,"

June shook her head, "If your gonna talk about having fun and doing stunts you should just get out." Her voice was sturn but soft as she walked towards her closet.

He put his head down in failure, "Your so much like your mother. So stubborn." He shook his head. "Don't do that."

"Do what?"

"Say shit like that." June batted her eyes, letting them go low as she noticed her dad staring at her, "Baby, are you okay?" He stood up.

"Stop asking me that."

"You don't look good. At all." June chuckled, "Thanks!" She smiled, throwing her arms up. "June, watch your attitude. You should stay home."

"You can't say anything about staying home either. Your barely here, Dad." June looked him up and down. "Cut it out. I came in here to have a civilized conversation with you."

"Is this one of your little episodes? Should I call Ms. Harris?" He pulled out his phone, "Oh my god, Dad! I'm not a fucking Guinea Pig! I don't need, Ms. Harris, I'm fine!" June pointed at her heard, watching him laugh at her reaction broke her heart.

"This is not happening. You've been acting like this for days!" June shook her head, "Im not acting like anything your just pissing me off!" Her whole body was shaking. And her dad wouldn't stop pressing every button on her heart and mind.

"Your staying home today! I don't wanna see you even try to leave the house. You can be locked in here for however long, I need you to be!" Her dad screamed as he walked away, only for her to follow close behind him.

"Fuck you, Dad! Seriously! Fuck you! Okay? You want me to be this perfect princess and I'm not. I'm nowhere near it!" Her face was now red, and her mind was about to explode as she screamed, "You purposely do this every time!"

"Do what? What am I doing, June? What!" He screamed, going closer as gritted his teeth, "Act like your the victim! Your not shit." June spat, wincing at him push her backwards.

"I cannot stand you, in my house anymore! I can't stand you near me. Why do you think I'm away so much? Your mother was a complete mess, and guess what? Now you are! Your both fucking manic, the only difference is she's dead!" June's heart crumbled.

Tears streamed down her face as she shook her head, "I hate you. I really do." At the sound of her voice breaking her dad realized what he said to her. All of the things he hoped he never would become was now happening. He was the monster in his daughters eyes like his father was the monster in his.

The door slammed and he didn't even go after her. He just stood in disbelief, walking away with his head to his feet.

June completely completely crumbled as her knees buckled she couldn't even stand. Holding her heart, she just cried and cried. She missed her loving dad who would hold her when she was sad. Or would tell her how pretty she was. Even just a hug was all she needed.

She really fucking needed one.

June shook her head as she hiccuped hearing the car door slam. At that she immediately grabbed some clean pants and a T shirt. She didn't even realize how fast she was going until she looked in the mirror, her face was so puffy. She just looked a mess.

June didn't think about it as she ran outside, hopping in her car as she drove too the wreck.

Kiara's heart skipped a beat, and not in a good way, as she saw the girl walk in. "Yo!" JJ a Peace sign which she tried to smile at, walking to sit down next to the three boys as Kiara poured John B a drink.

"You look like shit." John B tried to joke, "Says the one in a cast." She rolled her eyes, pulling her vape out, hitting it as she passed it to the blonde boy across from her.

June bounced her leg as the curly haired girl rolled her eyes at her, biting her lip in both frustration in confusion. "Okay, but your staying where?"

"TannyHill." John B said. "So, you're living with Sarah Cameron." June's head sparked up, biting on her lip as she rolled her eyes, "The only reason I'm living there is because her dad bailed me out, right? And it's way better than foster care, which, by the way is where I was about to go if Ward didn't," John B rambled before he was cut off, "Hey, so do you have a membership to the clubs now?"

"I don't know Pope."

"What about those golf carts they drive around? You get one of them?" JJ asked, making June shake her head, with a slight grin, "Does it come with a sweater-vest or do you have to buy one of your own?"

"Look, you promised. You said you weren't with her." Cause she was suppose to be with me, June thought. She felt very betrayed. Like she meant nothing.

"Bro, Just own it. She got you." JJ said, "Look, if you wanna hang out with her that's fine. But I'm letting you know now I'm not doing anything with Sarah." June rolled her eyes, putting her head phones in.

"Do you guys see her here? No right. Okay. A little focus would be fantastic." June pulled out her headphones, "Or is Kiara finally done with her hissy fit?" June commented, making John B shake his head, and Kiara laugh, "Fuck off."

"We've got the map, right?"

"It's out of whack cause the guy was Hanks's when he drew it." JJ spoke up, "The coast has changed."

"So we just have to look for landmarks that haven't changed." Pope explained. "What about the old forts?" June furrowed her eyebrows, "Battery Jasper. That could work."

June sighed, crossing her arms as she looked at the stone wall John B pulled up to, "That's definitely a stone wall." JJ commented.

"This is it." Pope mumbled. "Not the Crain house." John B sighed, opening the car door.

"Are you kidding me?"

"Worst-case scenario." JJ shrugged, "Why'd it have to be here?" Pope groaned, "This place gives me the chills." June added.

"I heard that Mrs. Crain buried her husbands head on the property." June shook her head, "What's wrong with you?"

They all let out light grunts as they jumped over the brick wall, "Look, you guys know who's house this is right?" Kiara spoke up.

"Honestly, I don't really believe the stories of this place." John B shrugged, "Which stories did. you hear?" JJ asked Kiara, "The one where she killed her husband with and axe and that's she's been holed up ever since." She wiggled her finger, scaring the blonde boy.

"No, it's not funny, it's all true! I swear to god, guys. This is all real. I knew Hollis. Jeez!" June giggled at his anger, "Breathe, sweetheart." She teased, earning a shove from him.

"Wait, you knew Hollis Crain?"

"Dude! How did you know Hollis Crain?" Pope freaked out, "She was my babysitter, man. She told me all about it. Told me the truth, about her mother and what happened in this house. So, as a kid, she heard all the stories that her mother killed her father and she was a murderer and all." JJ spoke like it was nothing, making their heart race.

"Hollis didn't believe." June got bored as she began to observe the home infront of her. The paint was slightly peeling off the home, and the drapes in the window were slightly guided open. Somebody was home, but all lights seemed to be off.

"I don't give a shit if she's an axe murderer, okay? I got nothin to lose, right? You comin or what?" John B locked eyes with the raven haired girl, taking in her appearance, as he missed his best friends touch. Her smile. Her giggly personality. He really fucked up.

John B adored her ever since they were kids.

When they used to go out and hide in the woods with JJ but, they never wanted to split from each other. His dad would always welcome her with open arms every Friday when the three would party. Sometimes, JJ didn't even come.

He hoped and prayed that he could fix it. Fix the sad look. Fix the guilt he had with Sarah. The moments with Sarah couldn't be erased. But, most importantly, his moments with June couldn't either.

The more he thought, the more he realized he took Someone from June. Someone so important that even a bullet to the heart couldn't stop them from being near each other. But, June hadn't talked to Sarah in days.

June was crumbling. He was in a hospital bed with Sarah, now living in a home with her. Every where Sarah was, their was the pogue boy.

She hated him for that. But, deep down, she could never hate her brother. They grew up together— like blood. Every family gathering June had, Big John and him would always be invited.

Family isn't always blood.

But, family isn't always family.

"It stinks in here," June coughed, following close behind Pope who held her wrist in his hand out of both fear and concern.

"Down came Mrs. Crain and Cut off all our heads, up came the sun and dried up all the blood."

"Can you stop!" Pope's stern voice shut the boy up very quick. "See any water?" Kiara questioned, as they all shook their heads. "No, but I see bugs." June pointed, making JJ quite literally jump off the ground at the sight of a huge spider.

"What the fuck!"

"Another dead end?" Kiara sighed. "There's not even water on the pipes." JJ told them. "Or there's just water at all."

"Know why we didn't find it?" Kiara spoke up, making June roll her eyes, "Here we go." June face palmed. "Bad Karma."

"You know, we had a good thing going. And then you decide to rope in Barbie and now the trails gone dry. Coincidence? Probably not."  Kiara rambled. "This is exactly why I didn't wanna tell you about Sarah."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

"What's The hells the deal with you three? Huh?" John B looked between Kiara and June, "Leave me out of this, uh-uh." She looked him up and down, walking to the back of the shed,

"Nothing!"

"Is it because I kissed you? Is that the problem?" June jumped at the sound of a slap, "Oh!"

"That definitely echoed." June nodded at the blonde, "Yo! Didn't it?"

"Stop treating me, like I'm some girls that's obsessed with you." Kiara told him off, "Instead of your best friends who's actually trying to look out for you."

"Did you uh, hit me?" John B softly spoke, "Skeeter. See it?" Kiara held her hand up. "Yeah." Another echoed sound was heard as Kiara gasped, "Oh, it just got intense." June whispered.

"Where's your proof?"

John B held his hand up, "Skeeter."

"Yeah, there's probably one right there." June shook her hand as they began playfully yet seriously smacking each other. "Oh, Jesus pray for us."

June began walking around and the sound of distant water drove her crazy, "Pope, I know you hear that."

Pope nodded, as he began walking around as well, "Why are their so many flies in this damn basement?"

June spun her head around as Pope began stomping, the hollow noise echoing around them. "Hey, guys!"

"Hey! Help me move this!"

"Okay, just quiet." JJ spoke up, "Guys, guys!" June put a finger to her mouth, "You guys don't know the concept of quiet!"

"She's probably right upstairs."

As the pulled the boards off, shock filled their bodies. A well. It was very dark, shining their bright flashlights down, to see water.

"Jack pot."
