"don't be to quick to judge jaden when you meet him alright? he may not be your type, you know see him once and gone. but, he's really nice. you don't meet many people like that these days." melody said, applying lipstick to her lips.

maeve laughed, "please , plenty of nice guys are around."

mel turned her head, pursing her lips, "yeah, where? tell me so i can get one."

mae scoffed and lightly hit her arm, "you're ridiculous, you already have a date for tonight,"

tonight, just like every year, the two girls were hosting a christmas party in their small new york apartment. mel would always try to set her up ,while mae's protesting would never work.

"do i even really need a date tho? you try and get one for me every year. and i find that each year they get worse."

"they do not?" i have great taste for you,"

"yes because great taste is a man spending the whole night in the hallway calling his ex girlfriend,"

mel narrowed her eyes, "okay fine. but it could have just been his mom."

mae looked at her in judgment, before letting her face go back to a normal expression. maybe jaden could be a great guy after all. besides, tonight she would finally get to meet melody's new boyfriend, that she could not keep from talking about for more than a few hours.

"no man talks his mom like that."

mel turned back to her mirror, putting her lipstick away in a drawer.

mae got up from where she was sitting, beginning to walk out of the room, "whatever, i'll give jaden a chance. happy?"

"extremely. i'll be ready in 5"

"alright,"
