"do you have everything?" my brother, who is helping me pack my stuff, asks with his eyebrow raised.

"yep. what's the deal with you, though? you're glaring at me like there's no tomorrow." i say, putting my hair onto a ponytail.

"i'm staring at you like this so that you'll see me in your dreams." he replies, making me want to smack his head.

"man, that would be terrifying." i state, intentionally smacking him with my hair out of annoyance.

"ow, that hurt, reo-chan." he says, glaring again.

"that's what you get for plotting my death with a terrifying dream." i scoff, putting my shoes on.

"no flirting."

i turn my back onto him, saying,

"are you jealous that i might actually have my own true love and you don't?" i snicker, yet smiling when he refused.

no gonna lie but although this guy is considered as a jerk, i wouldn't reach this stage without him. it's all thanks to him.

"do you want me to bring you there? it's already seven o' clock." he insists, making me shake my head.

"don't worry about me. i'll be fine. besides, I'm not a coward like you." i tease, which made him growl out of anger.

"how about i pick you up tomorrow?" he asks.

"no." i answer with authority written all over my voice.

he heaved a heavy sigh and smiled at me.

"alright. just be careful. kaa-san will kill me if something happens to you. have mercy on your brother." he frowns, yet his face lit up when i ruffled his hair.

"gotta go, nii-san. i'll see you tomorrow." i say before leaving the house.

"take care!" i hear him shout, making me giggle. he surely has a high vocal range.

i sigh as i started taking my way to tsukishima's. it's actually my first time going alone at a time like this, but nothing seems wrong about it.

to be honest, this scenery does make me calm rather than being scared.

it was pleasing. the night had the chills because of the cold weather and you can hear nothing but your own footsteps.

it's a good thing that i wore my junior high tracksuit for this rare occasion. it sure is pretty cold tonight.

as i felt my phone vibrate, i took it out of my pocket and picked the call up without knowing who the caller is.

"you're so slow. are you a turtle?" tsukishima starts off.

"you should talk. you can't even beat me on a running competition." i reply out of annoyance, followed by tsukishima's annoyed scoff.

"whatever. just be here already so we can get this project over with." he demands and ends the call, making me almost wanna throw my phone away.

stingyshima. tsk.

i quickened my pace up so that i can follow his orders and after i few, i finally arrived at tsukishima's house.

i knocked on the door twice and when the door opened, his mother is the one who i met and it seems like it's very loud inside, which i did not expect, to be honest.

"oh, you must be reo. come in. kei is just at the living room with your classmates. you can proceed there." tsukishima's mother greets with a simple yet elegant smile, and i bowed as a sign of respect.

"thank you, tsukishima-san." i smile back at her and removed my shoes before entering.

i followed her instructions. i proceeded to the living room just like what she said, yet when i got there, the scenario shocked me to the point i stopped dead on my tracks.
