YAMADA AIKO

"i told you to hold still, damn it." kei clicks his tounge as i squirm around.

"i can't help it. it hurts." i reply with a pout plastered on my lips, though the reason why i'm squirming is because of his hands on my face.

it feels weird to be held this way because of the fact that i have never experienced it.

"that's your fault for wandering around at night. what if i didn't arrive, huh? where do you think you are now if i didn't make it to your aid?" he asks with an irritated tone, wrapping some bandage around my forehead.

"probably the hospital." i answer jokingly as i giggle, only earning another click from his tounge.

"this is no time for jokes, dumbass. you're lucky you didn't hit your head that hard. i don't want to pay for your hospital fees so i'm thankful for that." he says, making me sigh.

"i'm sorry, alright? and what does this have to do with hospital fees? at least i'm alright." i answer, rolling my eyes.

after that, silence has devoured our conversation. maybe he feels awkward as of now because he doesn't do things like this often, especially on someone like me.

"who are they?" he suddenly asks, breaking the silence as he finishes on putting on the bandages, now sitting beside me on this soft field of grass by the our training camp's gymnasiums, handing me an ice bag, which i gladly took and connected it onto my swollen cheeks.

"former owners." i reply shortly, mentally sighing because of the scenario that has occurred a while back.

those faces are the faces i never want to see in my whole life ever again.

"you can open up to yamaguchi and i, y'know? besides, i'm your owner. everytime you feel scared or sad about past events, then come to us. there's no point hiding it." he says with a sigh.

"yeah, thanks." i smile, caressing my left cheek with my left hand to 'ease the pain'.

"but don't you dare expect that i can comfort you well. i'm not good with that kind of stuff." he protests, making me giggle.

"alright. whatever you say." i mumble under my breath.

and once again, silence has devoured the conversation.

though i have been hanging around with kei a lot lately, this kind of moment does seem awkward. maybe that's the reason why we keep on having deadly silences right by our backs.

"hey, look at the sky." i hear him say, but rather than complying to his command, i gave him a stare instead, making him stare back at me with his left eyebrow raised out of annoyance.

"do i look like the sky to you?" he asks, furrowing his eyebrows, which caused me to giggle and shake my head from side-to-side before diverting my sight towards the sky.

as soon as my eyes landed onto the great masterpiece, my eyes widened out of surprise as i saw stars glinting all-across the sky with the moon shining brightly to give light throughout the dark yet peaceful night.

"tsuki ga kirei." he says, making me take the opportunity to give him a glance, seeing him with a small smile plastered on his face.

setting my thoughts about the sentence aside, i cracked out a smile before looking back at the sky.

for the first actual time, i felt that i'm safe whenever someone's around, and i'm glad about that. glad about the fact that there is a great chance that the past won't be repeating over and over again.

"yeah, it sure is."
