eleven

By some miracle, Zachary Reeds was alive, his body recovered and bandage after bandage was pressed against his flesh. His fingers tightly wrapped in a cast and his body aching as he walked alongside the others. He had no memory of his attack, Sam was the one who told him somewhat of what happened, he was attacked in the hospital, his neck was cut open. Ghostface ran away before she could stop them.

Zach walked with such a slow pace his breathing heavy and uneven as he stood beside Ethan, the duo remained in the back and Zach felt uncomfortable.

"Should you ever be walking right now? you were hurt pretty badly". Zach sighed "like I wanna be attacked in a hospital again, fuck that I'd rather be here with everyone, better chance at figuring out who's under the mask".

He smiled weakly at Ethan as he followed the others into the building. "What is this place, what's with all the security?" The lights turned on and Zach frowned deeply as he looked around.

"It's a movie theater" Gale moved forward "it's not just a theater, it's a shrine". Everyone walked forward item after item of past ghostface experiences seen before them.

Zach felt lightheaded just looking around at all the past victims. "They got the whole goddamn franchise" then he saw it, he felt the throw up rising up his throat at the sight of it.

Inside a glass case beside the clothes Jill Roberts was wearing that night. Was the same cabinet he was hidden in, the door was pried open, blood staining the inside of it with pieces of wood chipped away from it being stabbed at.

A hand mark was on the  side of the door likely from when little Zach opened it. Beside it laid a drawing of Zach, he was hiding inside the cabinet crying as blood poured out of his arm.

Then he felt like he was gonna die when he saw the two things beside the photo. The knife he used to kill Jill Roberts with, the same handle bar that had broken from the force he used that night.

The paper beneath it was a drawing of him on top of Jill, that same knife seen in it as he stabbed her. That crazed glare in his eyes as he smiled.  To make matters even worse beside the glass case was the clothes he wore that night, the same stupid tear in his arm sleeve and blood staining it, his blood and Jill Roberts blood.

No one knew he did that, no one knew about the blood he spilled that night on his kitchen floor. The cries of agony that slipped out of Jill's lips, only his ears heard them, for others Charlie was the one who had killed her after he had discovered she was gonna kill him.

The only other person who had even caught sight of him over the girl's body was that police officer who had pointed his gun at him. The man who had threatened to shoot him if he didn't lower the gun, remembered the look of horror in that man's eyes, the way his face looked distorted as he shouted at him. He also remembered the man having a name, what was it? He honestly didn't remember.

Zachary stopped breathing his entire body burning as he let out gaping noises of disbelief. The room was spinning, his mind felt fuzzy and he could feel the sweat lining along his flesh as he smacked into the glass case behind him.

He could feel someone touching his shoulder "Zach" Kirby's voice of concern entered his ears and he couldn't focus on anything. His eyes were wide as she looked at the case in front of him.

"That's our old cabinet" he didn't have the strength to stop her from looking as she approached the glass case. Her eyes looked at the one beside it and her eyes widened "what is this? Zach?".

He could feel everyone looking at him, he felt the burns of Kirby's gaze, he heard that nagging voice in his head "Zachy! Zach please! ZACHY!".

Everyone looked, small soft whispers leaving their lips "Zach" he blinked hearing the loudness of question after question bouncing his way.

"Did you do this? Did you kill Jill?".

Zachary felt like a fish out of water as he tried his best not to remember what happened that night.

He kept it hidden inside the back of his mind as he ran, he ran so fast, just needing to be alone.

His feet ached as he ran for the front door "Zachary! Wait!" He ignored all the voices as he tugged on the door. He felt trapped, his breathing was heavier than before, especially when Ethan approached him "hey it's okay, just calm down".

Then he snapped, "calm down! You want me to calm the fuck down! where were you... when I was attacked at the hospital? If you were in there Sam would've told me.. where were you?".

"The nurse kicked me out, I tried my best to stay, I even clung onto the damn door for a good ten minutes". Ethan let out a weak chuckle "where were you after? Did you go with the others?".

"Yeah, I was with Chad and Tara, Mindy was with Anika at the time, it was awkward I felt like a third wheel the entire time".

Zach let out a weak breath so he could hear the others talking in the other room. Ethan likely told them he'd handle Zach.

"That makes sense, sorry I guess I'm just paranoid" he sighed as he walked forward. "This place is ancient, do you think anyone's ever been here?".

He wiped dust off the counter coughing slightly when the dust flew into his face. Ethan looked at him "maybe, I mean this place used to be a movie theater, I'm sure people have been here".

"I wonder what happened to make it shut down, I mean those kids must've known this place wasn't really being used anymore".

Ethan walked towards him "seeing all that ghostface stuff in there, makes me feel creeped out". Zach looked at him "you get used to it after awhile, I mean when you see that mask all the time it's like...a part of your life forever".

He sighed, "sorry I ran off like that... I just had a moment is all" Ethan touched his shoulder "it's fine, you just needed a moment is all".

Zachary leaned into the counter, his fingers wiping more dust off the counter. "I just want a normal life, it just seems like my life is just ghostface. It's like a never ending loop. Makes me wonder how Sidney handled it all, it's a big weight to carry".

Ethan stood beside him grabbing a hold of his hand "hey you are normal, once all of this dies down you'll start to realize that". Zachary let out a weak laugh "if I even make it this time, I feel like a kid all over again, stuck inside a stupid cabinet just waiting to get killed. So many people have died because of my past, so many people hurt".

"Zach, it's not your fault" he ran his finger across the counter watching the dust form into a pile of muck. He smacked his hand down onto the counter "they won't get away with it this time".

He walked away letting out a sigh as he walked back into the theater. He looked at the display cases that rested along each section. He walked towards one, seeing a drawing of a girl strung up on a tree.

"This all started with her" he turned and smiled weakly at Gale, the woman sighing softly. She looked at the photo beside the drawing with sadness "who was she?" He looked at the photo seeing the girl standing beside a boy who looked just like her.

"Casey Becker, she was a target since she used to date Stu Macher. His brother was there that night the attack happened". Zach bit his lip nervously "I remember him, uh his name was Cody?".

Gale chuckled "it was Corey, he managed to make it a few years after that, died in the 2000s when a detective named Mark shot him. He bled out to death, he..." she sighed "he let himself die".

She looked away from the case "was he a friend of yours?" Gale nodded as she looked at another case across from them. She walked towards it and Zach followed after her "he was a good kid, he would've survived that night, but he just gave up. I like to imagine he'd like you, you remind me of him".

Zach looked at the display case Gale stood in front of, seeing the photo of Corey Becker. He looked happy as he smiled, his arm draped over Gale's shoulder. Beside her was Dewey who looked annoyed by being in the photo, and then the last person Zach recognized as Mindy and Chads dead uncle Randy.

"Why did he let himself die? If you don't mind me asking" Gale leaned into the case briefly. "Well he had found out Roman Bridger was ghostface, at the time they were married, you can imagine how heartbroken he was when Sidney killed Roman... he just couldn't handle it anymore, so he just stopped caring".

She walked away from the room, likely needing air after having to relive everything all over again. Zach looked at the photo of Corey one last time before he walked off towards the others.
