064| the past is blurry

ย ย  The air felt colder than before, Corey had spent so many nights stuck inside this room. He was used to the heat and the strong smell of death every time he opened his eyes. Today was different, he was greeted by cold air and the strong stench of bleach.

He inhaled sharply as he leaned back against the chair he was tied to. He felt lightheaded as he tried to adjust his eyesight to the darkness, he didn't know where he was but it was definitely not good.

He flinched out of instinct when the lights clicked on, it burned his eyes as he let out a heavy breath. He blinked rapidly as he gasped softly "Sid...".

She laid on the floor in front of him, blood coating her forehead. He could see her chest moving which meant she was alive, he let out a breath of relief as he chuckled softly to himself. It had been so long since he had seen her, he had forgotten how beautiful she looked.

"Sidney? Baby I need you to wake up!" he tugged at the ropes around his wrists as he looked around the room. "I told you not to touch her! You're dead you fucker! I swear to god if she doesn't wake up!".

He let out a loud breath as he kept tugging at the ropesย  that were forcing him back. He winced when they kept digging into his skin making it burn and ache. "Sidney!" he pulled against the ropes as he watched her hand twitch slightly.

"Baby! Please wake up! Sidney!" he groaned as he pulled at the rope, it only dug more into his skin. "Come on, stupid things!" he pulled at the rope and he smiled brightly when his left hand slipped out.

He pressed it against his chest as he tried to soothe the dull ache that rested along his skin. After he took another deep breath he pulled the other hand out slowly and carefully pulled the rope off his legs.

He rubbed at his face as he ran towards Sidney, he ignored every single pain he felt as he gripped her face with worry. "Sid? Please be okay" he ran his thumb along the cut under her hairline.

It wasn't deep but it looked painful, he shivered as the room got more colder. He pulled his shirt off and ripped it into a long strip as he carefully placed it around the cut on Sidney's head.

The action made her twitch in his hold, he wiped the rest of the blood off her face with the remaining fabric of his shirt and then set it to the side of him.

Corey pushed himself upwards as he looked around the room, all that he could see was old couches that were full of dust. An old bar that had shattered bottles of champagne on it and a big screen that was covered in caution tape and was slightly ripped at the end.

"I've been here before...." he saw the familiar doorway as he turned toward it, a big wave of Deja vu hit him as he looked down at Sidney.

"Roman..." he rubbed at his forehead as he remembered the night he watched Roman Bridger die, of course it was all fake but it felt so real.

This was the same room he was shot in, where he was left on the cold floor to bleed out while Roman tried to help him. He remembered the pain of it as he tried to help Roman, he was a different person back then.

Now he didn't care about his past, he could only focus on Sidney as she moved slightly. He looked at the door and ran towards it, he let out a sigh of frustration when the door didn't open.

"This stupid thing is ancient! What the fuck!" he smacked the door with the palm of his hand before he turned and walked towards Sidney.

He shivered as he picked Sidney up and carried her towards the couch. He set her down and then he flinched when the screen in front of him clicked on. Static played on it, making him cringe as he tried to wake Sidney up. "Sid, this shit is creepy, I need you to wake up so I don't see it alone".

He let out a heavy breath as he watched the screen glitch and then he saw an old video of him.

"Yeah I would say this movie set is pretty awesome, I mainly get coffee for everyone while my husband does all the work. Stab three is definitely a hard one to work with, it's not very good mentally for me but Roman says it'll help me face my past. That way I can move forward and start healing after everything that's happened to me.. I personally don't plan on watching the movie when it's done, like I'd watch a movie where I'm in it... that's depressing, we all know Sidney's the real star in these movies, I'm the lame side character who is just there at the wrong time".

Corey looked away from the screen as he sighed softly "I don't understand why this matters! This was all from decades ago! I don't even remember half of the things I did when I was here. I was just trying to figure out how to escape my past, to heal".

He let out an angry scoff as he walked towards the door "you can't scare me by showing me my past! Roman tried that shit and it didn't work! Now show yourself asshole! What did I do to you that pissed you off so badly? Huh! Are you a big geek for stab movies! Is that why you're doing this to me? You wanna be famous and make a stupid movie! Newsflash stab eight sucked! No one cares about those movies anymore, we all know reboots are better right now, I mean have you seen Halloween! It's beautiful and Jamie worked her ass off to make it!".

The door was kicked open and Corey flinched at the sudden action of it. His eyes widened as he looked at the person in front of him "it's you, I should've known it was you... I can't believe this...".

His words were cut off when the person lifted their gun towards him and hit the trigger. His body flew back as the bullet hit him, he screamed as he collided with the ground. He felt the blood gushing out of his body as he gasped in pain. He heard the footsteps of the person approaching him, he inhaled sharply as he looked at the gun that was pointed right at his head.

He didn't think he'd make it this far in his life, he remembered that night when he watched his sister fight for her life. When he heard the loud screams that left her lips as he tried to help her. Billy Loomis had really done a number on him that night, that was the first time in his life he had faced ghostface.

He would've thought after so many years if he'd stop feeling so scared of dying. He had seen so many different people behind the mask, all of them wanted him dead and every time he had survived.

Another wound was added to his broken heart and he was forced to watch it happen all over again as time passed. He had lost everyone he ever cared about, so many victims and all because of him.

Corey Becker, this shit all started with him and his sister. If he was never home that night maybe things would be different. If he could go back, he would've fought harder to protect his sister.

He would protect all of the people he watched die because of him. He felt his heart ache as tears slipped down his face, maybe he was cursed to this life.

To watch everything around him disappear, maybe him dying would finally make this all end. Sidney could have a normal life and his children wouldn't have to be afraid of bad people coming after them.

Sam and Tara could stop looking over their shoulders and they could finally trust people again. Corey inhaled sharply as he pressed his hand deep into his wound, he felt the blood stuck to his skin.

The gun clicked as it was cocked, he didn't flinch when it was pressed against his forehead. He had finally met his match, ghostface was finally going to put him in the ground. After all these years he would've thought he'd fight back.

Truth was he was exhausted, his entire life all he's known was ghostface. He knew one day he'd die and it would all lead back to his past, to the night he was stabbed by Billy Loomis. He should've died that night but by some miracle he survived.

Now he was finally going to die, like he was supposed to back in 1996. He closed his eyes as he accepted death with open arms, and then the gun went off.

authors notes:
nothing says happy Christmas like a cliffhanger!
I've made it my goal to complete this story before new years, so expect updates for this until this, we're almost at the halfway mark and I literally don't wanna end this book, but it's time.... I can't keep dragging Corey's story, I always planned on doing just 6 acts but then I made this one because I didn't wanna part ways with this book. But I can't keep adding new acts just because I don't want to end this book. This last act will be Corey's be grand finale and it'll be hard to part ways with but I think seven acts is perfect for Corey's story. It just makes sense to me. It won't be a complete lost since I have other books of him on here, the Corey Becker saga will be forever. Just because this one's ending doesn't mean I won't keep writing for him in the other books I have of him, this will always be the og book, the one I made as a joke as first after I rewatched the scream movies one night, due to wanting to remember things for scream 6. If I hadn't had watched those movies that night I don't think we'd be here. Corey Becker is my heart and soul and one day I'll get a real book published with him as the main character, because he's my baby. I hope this update is appreciated, happy Christmas and I hope all of you have a good Christmas! I'll be busy today celebrating Christmas with my family so I will be offline until I have time to come back. I'll likely just write for this and ignore notifications until nighttime. Enjoy this chapter! I'm gonna sleep now!
