"The stakes are high, are... are you sure about this?" The man in front of her didn't look recognizable, his hair and lips coated in blood. The ends of his fingernails dirty and coated in dirt and grim, so much for him staying clean.

He blinked his eyes boring into her soul as she licked her lips nervously, just one more time and this shit would be over. She inhaled, then exhaled and placed the box down onto the glass counter.

It clicked open, clack.. clack! He blinked as he looked downwards his fingers running along the soft mesh material. Breath in, and then breath out. He bit down into his lip, he tasted the blood, it mended onto his tongue.

Breath in, and then breath out. Don't look, and definitely don't turn around, not even if the door chimes open with life again. "I'm sure" he slammed the money down onto the counter, left without saying any other words and she sighed.

"So much for a clean record..." the door chimed shut as Corey walked towards his truck. His hands grasping the box so tightly it dented inwards.

His flesh was bruised, the slightest scrap lingered on his hands and wrists. Cause apparently swinging an axe can cause damage to the person holding it. He huffed when he set the box down on the passenger seat, his phone buzzing like crazy.

BZZZ BZZZZZ
the final girl squad.... New message!
Sid...... new message!
Samantha.......new message!
Tara.... New message!
Kirby.... New message!
The psycho twins... new message!

It kept chiming making him grab a hold of it and turn it off. The world went silent and for the first time in a long time, he let out a breath.

Then he clicked the box his hands grasping the mask. He lifted it upwards carefully like it was delicate, which in this case it was. It held so many scarp marks and was coated in dust and dirt.

He blinked as he ran his fingers along the edge of it, feeling the old marks jab into his fingertips. He let out a shaky breath and then it let it slip over his face, it fit perfectly, just like it did all those years ago. He was ending this shit himself.

He drove off so fast he didn't care if anyone saw him, his fingers tightened around the steering wheel as he smirked beneath his mask.

ย ย  Everyone was on edge "okay, so apparently Corey doesn't wanna be found". Tara's words felt so wrong as she sat down beside her sister and sighed. "He's gonna do something drastic, got any leads Kirby?" the detective looked away from her computer screen. Her eyes meeting Sidney's, her children playing in the other room.

Everyone else sat around Kirby's living room, so many boxes on the table. So many files and files on past ghostfaces "you know, I found something last week, and now that you're here, maybe you could make some sense of it".

Kirby turned her screen around where an old case file flashed on the screen "back in 1999 there were reports of murders all over Hollywood, you see it's probably nothing, people die all the time.. but that's the thing, now that it makes sense, these murders weren't random... I think it was another ghostface".

Everyone frowned deeply "could it have been Roman? He was active around then..." Kirby shock her head "that wasn't until a year after this, but look at this, a witness said she saw a figure sneaking out of the home of a man who was killed".

She clicked on a photo "she even took a photo of it, claims she didn't want her neighbors thinking she was crazy". The figure was hard to see but at an angle you could see the mask, that stupid mask.

"Okay so who was running around Hollywood killing people in 1999? Could've been a crazed fan? Or someone who just thought it was hilarious..".

Sidney said it sarcastically and Kirby sighed "I have no idea, but I think whoever it is... they're connected to this somehow, maybe they're the killer we can't figure out? They reportedly killed 28 people before they just vanished. Wait...".

Kirby clicked on a photo "isn't that Corey?" Sidney moved closer to the screen, the photo was of a man who had been pushed out of a window. In the background Corey stood holding onto coffee cups.

"Yeah that's Corey! He used to get coffee for people on set, that means this must've been taken a few months before 2000".

Kirby went to another photo "holy shit, why didn't I notice this before, he's in every single crime scene photo, except for the last one".

The last one was a woman's body dangling on a tree, her guts all over the place "wait zoom in". Kirby zoomed in and in the background was the figure, blood staining there mask and deep scratch marks lining it. "They must've been hidden, that mask, it's damaged.. so if we see anyone with it on, that definitely means it's them".

The door burst open and everyone screamed when two ghostface figures appeared. "Definitely not this one! Shit run!". Kirby pulled her gun out and pointed at the figures angrily.

"Seems you're finally figuring it out" there voices were so dark as they held tightly onto there knifes. Kirby sneered angrily "start talking assholes!".

They laughed as everyone stood up ready to attack, Sidney glared at them "why are you doing this? What do you gain from this!".

One of them sighed deeply "ah Sidney, you're really not seeing the big picture here! We're not here for you, any of you... we're here for Corey".

Samantha rolled her eyes "he's not here, you guys clearly aren't smart". The figure shifted slightly "the tracker is here..." they were muttering to themselves annoyingly "where is he!".

The power turned off and the loudness of a scream entered the atmosphere. The lights flickered harshly and everyone screamed when blood splattered onto them slightly. The lights turned on and the figure was held on tightly as blood ran down there stomach. "Holy shit. That's the mask from...".

Kirby looked at her computer then gulped nervously "your the killer who didn't get caught.. you're the one from 1999, what do you want!",

The figure laughed lightly as they moved back slightly tightening there hold on the figure. "That's a rather dark time in my life, don't remember any of it if I'm being honest... but I remember the mask".

They pulled the mask off the figure they held onto "detective Bailey?" the man groaned "you idiots! I'm trying to help you! You don't understand!". He was thrown onto the ground the other figure screaming angrily as they ran forward.

They gagged when the knife slammed into there throat "you people really don't think, seriously Bailey, you think your daughter can kill me? That's why you're here isn't it? You wanted to kill me.. wanted to get your little revenge for what I did in my past, hard times man.. I don't even remember it".

He threw the girl onto the ground her mask slipping off Bailey held onto himself. "I knew it was you the second I saw those case files. You killed my son, and you killed all those people... you deserve to die! You piece of shit!".

The man laughed "technically Sam killed your son, Richie was it? He wasn't really smart, I did kill Ethan, he wasn't smart either... and now I killed your daughter, seems fair Bailey".

The room felt so silent as everyone glared at the figure as they kneeled down at Baileys level, "go on, tell them why you're here, tell them what you figure out Mr.smart guy!".

Bailey was forced upward and groaned "it's Corey... the killings from 1999 are Corey... his therapist notes that I found stated, he was unstable, and going through blackouts, the medication he was on didn't work, only made it worst, he'd wake up covered in blood, scared out of his mind, he got better with time and the killing stopped. His old therapist knew, but they never told him, they were scared it'd trigger an episode and he kill again. So they hid his mask and costume, and it was held onto throughout the years. The last known person to have it was his therapists granddaughter. Stupid bitch must've gave it to him...".

Bailey groaned when he was pushed back slightly "her names Molly asshat, she's a rather respectful girl, who knows the consequences of this stupid costume, I didn't think I'd have to wear it again, but it's clearly the only way you'll listen to me".

He pulled the mask off letting out a heavy breath "what can I say, I had a fucked up life, and I didn't even know I killed those people... not until Roman told me the other night, before I killed him".

He sighed deeply "he had been watching me for weeks, watching me black out and kill people, and the asshole didn't even help me when I'd wake up confused, wake up screaming because I had nightmares where I was killing people! I mean seriously! He had so many red flags, he knew what I was doing, he knew it was breaking me... but he never told me the truth, he'd just say it was the medication making me feel weird, that I'd be fine once I got new ones. 28 people! I killed 28 people! Before I finally started getting better... and I can't even remember doing it, I don't remember who they were or how long I had been doing it for".

And just like that, the list had updated for everyone, the same one Samatha couldn't even look at anymore. The same one that made her feel sick.

"Corey..." he looked so defeated and so upset as he looked at Sidney "I didn't know what I was doing.... My entire life, I thought I was a good person, that those moments where I would black out were just things I didn't wanna remember. That the blood on my hands was mine, I'd wake up so confused, wondering how the hell I got home and why I was covered in blood... Roman said he'd take me home, that he'd find me just standing alone in the middle of nowhere, with my phone screen on and.. the contact called the survivor.. that was you Sidney, that was back when you were hiding and I kept your name on my phone secret, and the fucked up part is... I remember trying to call you, that's the only part I remember".

He sighed deeply "maybe it's best I don't make it out of this one, I deserve to die for what I've done... it doesn't matter if I don't remember doing it, I hurt those people, innocent people... how can I live with myself knowing what I did!".

Sidney walked towards Corey "you get help, let me help you Corey, please.. we don't blame you for something that happened a decade ago". Corey smiled sadly "you shouldn't be here Sidney, just take the kids and leave me here to die".

She gripped is face "if you die, I'm going with you, so you better let me help you or you kill us both". Blood ran down Corey's lips "Bailey....". The lights turned off and Sidney gasped when they turned back on. Corey was gone and so was Bailey.

"How did we forget about the guy on the ground who wanted Corey dead!" Sam sighed as she looked at Chad "Chad, we were a little preoccupied being surprised by what we just learned, they couldn't have gotten far, let's go".

Sidney blinked "no!" She walked towards the doorway "I have to do this one alone, I'm sorry.. but Corey wants to die, he'll let Bailey kill him the second there's a chance for it, the only way to save Corey, is if I go alone, I don't need anyone else dying because of ghostface. This ends now".

authors notes:
(No comment) Lol Jk.... Yeah there's like a huge ass black hole in Corey's memories. We had 2 whole years where we didn't see what Corey was doing 1998-1999. Save to say Roman really was a bad influence on Corey, man's knew my baby was struggling and yet he didn't tell him about it until like a decade later. Trust me Corey has a fucked up life and he has a dark pass, one that's slowly coming out to the surface, he's obviously beating himself up because of it, Justice for Corey!!! 2 chapters left on the count down! (I'm not ready)
