That beep was an never ending nag, every single chance it was silent. It would flicker loudly with life again, it kept going and going. Getting louder and louder by the second, it was honestly annoying.

Corey Becker-Prescott was laid out on the hospital bed, a bruise along the side of his face slowly forming. The bandage they wrapped around his skull was thick, keeping out any sort of infection.

The beep was annoying. But the beep meant life, and that was all anyone could hope for. So many needles were pierced into his flesh, the oxygen tube stuck down his throat as his chest rose and fell.

Blood stained his hands still, the doctors not determined to wash it off, not fully at least. His eyes were shut, they would flicker every once in a while like he was dreaming and trying to wake up.

The door was left wide open, two guards sitting right outside of it. The part that pained Sidney Prescott the most when she stepped into the room. Was the restraints that rested along Corey's wrist.

A safety precaution in case he woke up and tried hurting himself again. "How long has he been like this?" the woman voice was shaky as she held tightly onto her purse.

"Sid" Tatum smiled as she stood up from the chair she was sitting in, she hugged the woman tightly. Randy sighed in relief "thank goodness you're here, Tatum wouldn't let me leave the room".

He stood up from the chair stretching Sidney walked towards Corey. Her breath hitching in the back of her throat at the sight of him.

"He looks miserable" Tatum smiled sadly "he's fighting, pretty hard right now. The doctors said he'll wake up whenever he's ready".

Sidney sat down beside the bed Tatum grabbed Randy's hand "We'll let you have a moment while we go check on Casey and Roman, they didn't wanna see him like this so they're in Tara's room".

They left the room and Sidney let out a shaky breath as she grabbed a hold of Corey's hand. "Hey Corey, it's me.. it's Sidney" she smiled weakly as she looked at him with defeat.

"I know I promised I wouldn't come back here. But god Corey, you really scared the shit out of me, when Randy called....". Tears slipped down her cheeks as she sighed "I thought the worst, I just kept thinking, how am I gonna tell the girls there fathers dead, that he's not coming home".

She pressed her hand against her lips as she let out a shaky breath. "Please don't leave me Corey, I still need you, shit we all still need you in our life's. Without you everything just fails apart".

His hand twitched, his fingers pressing into Sidney's palm harshly. She sat up "Corey?" she pressed her hand against his cheek "it's me, it's Sidney, it's your wife".

She smiled softly his eyes began flickering harshly his body shaking violently. She panicked running towards the door "we need a doctor! Please we need a doctor!". She felt so dizzy as she watched nurse after nurse pound there hands against Corey's chest.

She was pushed out of the room, the door being slammed shut. Tears ran down her cheeks as she walked into the waiting room. Her hands were shaking like crazy as she leaned into the wall for support, she let out a shaky breath.

"Sidney..." she turned her eyes widening "Gale" the woman smiled "I came as soon as I got the call from Dewey". Sidney cried as she hugged the woman "I should've came here with him...".

She sighed deeply as Gale moved back "how are the girls?" Sidney smiled sadly "they're with Corey's parents right now, they don't know what happened, I couldn't bring myself to tell them. I just said Corey needed me in woodsboro and they practically let the girls stay with them".

She sat down in a chair "I saw Tatum and Randy when I walked in, how are they?". Sidney tapped her fingers along her leg harshly "they're good, I mean I'm glad they were here for Corey when I wasn't, I don't know what I'm gonna do if he doesn't make it.. if he's...".

Gale placed her hand on Sidney's shoulder "hey, if anyone's gonna always survive it's Corey Becker, and I know what he did wasn't good, but he's been suffering for so long, maybe this will finally make him see just how much we care about him, that he's not alone, he's gonna make it".

Sidney looked at Gale "and if he doesn't? I don't know how I'm gonna tell the girls there father died because he tried killing himself... I mean I should've known all this ghostface shit would make his mind start acting up again, I should've made him come home the second he even told me he wanted to stay here and handle things".

Gale sighed "I saw the news, god what those fuckers did to Judy and Wes, it was just like how Casey and Mickey were killed, Corey probably blamed himself for it, he was probably so devastated when he couldn't save them".

"Sidney Prescott?" she turns around at the sound of her name being called "yes that's me". Gale holds onto her hand as the doctor sits down in front of them. She has already feared the worst, she let out a shaky breath "is he.. dead? Is Corey dead?".

The doctor leaned forward "he's actually awake, which was quite surprising considering just a day ago he was on the verge of going comatose. We ran a few tests, everything's normal, he's healthy, just a slight concussion and of course bruising on his skull but that'll heal on its own. In most cases like this the patient can suffer speak problems or muscle pain, but Corey passed every single test, no muscle pains, no vocal cord issues. If he starts suffering any of those symptoms it's best you bring him back in right away. Any change of mood, aggressive or maniac behavior, tendency to harm others, keep an close on him".

Sidney let out a heavy breath as she nodded "can we see him now?". The doctor stood up "yes, it's best you don't mention what happened, we've determined he simply doesn't remember what happened, he believes someone named ghostface did it to him, for the time being keep it that way".

The doctor walked away and Sidney looked at Gale with a smile "he's awake, he's okay..." she stood up slowly. "You go ahead and see him, I'll update everyone else on what the doctor said, we don't accidentally need Randy saying something that'll make Corey go into cardiac arrest".

Sidney chuckled "thank you Gale". She walked off down the hallway holding herself nervously as she approached the door. She could see him the second she stepped into the room, he sat up, his gaze looking outside the window.

The restrictions were gone but she could see them in the corner of the room, likely ready in case Corey tried anything again. "Corey?" he turned around fast his eyes widening "Sidney! What are you doing here? I thought I told you to stay away".

She walked towards him "I couldn't just stay away, not when that fucker almost killed you". The boy sighed deeply "I wish you would've just let me here to rot away, you'd have at least been safe and I'm sure I would've been fine.. until the asshole tried coming after me again".

He pressed his hand against the side of his head. The bandage thick "they couldn't even aim right, doctor said it grazed the side of my head. My damn head hurts like a bitch, luckily they gave me some pain medicine, it's not strong but it's enough".

Sidney smiles as she sits down beside Corey's bed "you had me worried for a second, I was so terrified I was gonna have to come here to identify your body, promise me you won't scare me again".

He smiled "promise, I'll start being more careful of my surroundings, hey you didn't bring the girls right? I hope you didn't bring them".

Sidney shock her head "of course not, I would never bring them here. Your parents are watching them while I'm gone, they don't know what happened, I didn't wanna worry them too much".

Corey huffed "they wouldn't care, they'd probably secretly be happy of my downfall. I mean I love them but sometimes they just prove to me they don't really care much about me. It got worse the older I got, it'll likely keep getting worse".

Sidney grabs onto Corey's hand smiling softly "let's just go home Corey, we don't have to stay here, I already have your bags in the car. We can leave the second they let you leave this place".

Corey sighed "we can't just leave, these kids need us Sidney, I don't want them going through what we did, they're really good kids and they don't deserve to be chased around for no reason".

Sidney ran her thumb along Corey's hand "you're not gonna let me drag you outta here are you?". She smiled weakly as he leaned into her.

"I promise you, the second this shit is over, we're going home, and I'll never step foot in this town again, and if another asshat decides to put on a mask, it's not our responsibility to handle it".

He kissed Sidney's forehead and she smiled "you better stick to that promise mister". He laughed lightly "I'll try my best, promise".

a basic little filler chapter, figured I'd get it published since it's just chilling in my drafts. Next chapter is when everything starts going downhill, we love that! Can't wait to continue!
