"His names Corey Becker, he should be here actually" Samatha held tightly onto Richies hand as they walked along the pathway. "Why does he live in the middle of the woods? Isn't this like how people die in horror movies?".
Sam let out a shaky breath as they pushed open the wooden gate. It creaked loudly as they kept walking "I mean he's been nearly killed throughout the years, it makes perfect sense he's out here".
The loud slam of wood cracking made them walk faster. Rain began falling down onto them making them shiver as they stepped down another long pathway. Signs could be seen, "no trespassing, beware of dogs! Okay this place is creepy Sam, why are we here? Why couldn't we have gone to that other guy you mentioned, uh Dewey?".
"Because he wasn't home when we stopped by, so this is the second best option, even if it is a little creepy out here". Sam turned the corner "oh shit!".
The man pointed the gun directly at her face cocking it "you got about three second to say who the hell you are before I shot you in the face".
Sam threw her hands up "woah! Uh please don't shot! We were just looking for Corey Becker. We read online that he lives here".
The man hummed slightly as he pulled his hood downwards "I was wondering when you'd show up, follow me". He turned around and started walking Sam looked at Richie and the boy shrugged his shoulders as they followed after Corey.
The man approached a cabin, pushing open the door "I wasn't expecting company anytime soon, so mind the mess". He placed his gun onto a table before taking his jacket off, Sam looked around the cabin. It was massive and so many things were laying around, photos lined the wall.
She recognized a few people in them, people she's seen on the news when she was little. Corey walked towards the kitchen "you two sit down, I'll get you some water, I already know why you're here".
Sam let out a shaky breath "we were gonna see your friend Dewey, but he wasn't home". Corey let out a light chuckle "that man is never home, it's a good thing I'm here, I've been hiding out here for a couple of days since I nearly died the other night".
He walked towards the duo, sitting down in a small chair as he handed them glasses of water. Sam smiled at the man thanking him as she took a sip.
"Uh Mr.Becker we believe you have information that could help us, my sister Tara was attacked by someone in a ghostface mask, and I remember hearing about you on the news once".
Corey looked at Sam "Corey Becker-Prescott" Sam frowned "uh.." he smiled weakly. "I took my wife's last name, scared away the noisy neighbors".
"Oh sorry, this is my boyfriend Richie, and I'm..." Corey leaned back "Samatha Carpenter, trust me I know who you are". Sam looked taken back "wait you know me? How do you know who I am?".
Corey let out a chuckle "you're Billy Loomis daughter, cmon I may be old but I keep taps on people around here. And besides my wife told me about you when she found out Billy even had a kid. Your mother told her, seeing our history with Billy, she thought we'd wanna know".
Sam smiled weakly "and I'm so sorry for what my father did, I mean everyone in woodsboro knows that story, it's like big around here".
Corey laughed weakly "now you want my honest advice about this whole ghostface shit. Don't trust anyone, that's your first mistake".
He leans back into the couch his eyes looked at Richies "especially not the boyfriend, been down that road and it doesn't end well, ditch the boyfriend, ditch the people you think are your friends and get outta town".
Corey stood up from the couch "and well if none of those work, then get ready to start killing someone". He grabs his gun off the table "I meant your sister briefly the other night. I of course didn't speak with her, I was too busy trying to survive".
"You've seen Tara?" the man let out a heavy breath "yeah, I was mainly trying to get my niece and nephew out of town, but well they're like me, stubborn and hellbent on not running".
Sam sighed "so you've been attacked recently too? I mean I saw on the news about Casey and Roman being attacked the other night, I've meant them a few times since they were always at Mindy and Chads house, whenever I would babysit them".
Corey sat back down "the night of there attack, I killed one of the killers, the other one ran off, if I'm right about something, then there's two sets of killers running around, one going after you Samantha because of your past, and one going after me, which isn't shocking, I'm used to that".
"You think there's two sets of people running around trying to kill us?". Corey grinned weakly "yeah it's pretty self explanatory, we've both got people trying to come for us, I killed one already, so you just gotta worry about the other ones".
Sam looked defeated as she held onto her glass of water "so what do we do?" Corey smirked as he stood up off the couch. He cocked the gun he was holding onto "you know how to use one of these?".
Sam looked at the gun he held onto "not really, what does this have anything to do with the killer?". The man huffed as he walked towards the doorway "it has nothing to do with them, come on kid, I'm teaching you how to use this, you'll be needing this skill for what we're going through".
He walked outside and Sam looked at Richie "just go with him, he's honestly kinda scary, I think we should listen to what he's saying".
Corey laughed lightly "your boyfriends right, come on follow me, we'll talk more after you practice". He walked off down the pathway Sam sighed before she followed after him.
When she finally caught up to him, he was rolling up his sleeves as he set the gun atop a wooden table. "I used to think you were a scary person whenever I heard about you on the news".
Corey turned smiling slightly "I would've been surprised if you called me not scary, the medias been dragging my name around for years. Ever since I got that cop locked up in the 2000s, they think I framed him.. yeah right.. he shot me, nearly died from it".
Sam walked forward "I've only ever seen things about you on the news, I rarely watch, but when I used to, I just remember seeing your face, and hearing the horror you went through".
Corey sighed "it gets better with time. You get used to all of it. The looks and the books, and after awhile I just tune it out completely". He walks across the field placing random buckets onto tree stumps "I guess the best part of it all, is I got Sidney out of it, and I had my kids, who I hope don't deal with what I do all the time".
Sam let out a heavy breath "what will you do when they get older?" he seemed hesitant as he handed Sam the gun. "I'll teach them the same thing I'm teaching you right now, how to survive".
He smiles sadly "at least they'll be able to keep themselves safe, I failed the last time, I won't this time". He placed Sam's hand on the gun making sure her finger wasn't on the trigger.
"Your son, he was one of the killers.. the last time this happened wasn't he?". Corey looked like he was on the verge of throwing up as he nodded.
"My Mickey, he was a good kid, the media made him sound like some crazed monster, called me a shitty father whose kids will always follow after. It's not my fault Mickey wanted to be like his father so much, I won't let me girls be like that".
"Was Mickey from your first marriage?" Corey smiled lightly "yeah, not many people ask me that, they're too hellbent on trying to avoid me. Rome was a good man, we were together for two years, we adopted Mickey when he was born, Roman did all the paperwork and payments for the mother when she was carrying Mickey for us. I was practically freaking out trying to get everything ready for when we finally get Mickey".
Corey laughed lightly "the first day we brought him home, I just sat with him in the nursery for hours just kept thinking about our future. And gosh I should've been there for him when Roman died, maybe he wouldn't have put on that costume and tried being like his father... there's no way I'm letting my girls turn out like that, I'll keep them far away from this, as far as they know, I'm just away on a work trip for a few days".
Sam smiled sadly "I'm sorry about your family, you must've loved them a lot". Corey sighed "I did, and I still do, that's why I won't let you go through what I did, I'll make sure your sisters safe, I promise".
"I should get going, Mindy wanted everyone to get together, which means I can't miss it". Sam handed the gun back to Corey as she walked off. He watched her for a moment before he sighed.

authors notes:
Corey is like a protective father to every single person he meets. We love that! Also threw in a few mentions of Roman and Mickey, I miss them! Corey could've had a happy marriage but Roman had to go and be ghostface, could've been a father but no Mickey had to go be ghostface. At least he has his daughters and Sidney now.
