ย  ย  Eleven years had passed, Corey Becker had learned the hardships of life for all those years he spent healing and moving forward with himself. It took him six years to patch up the wound that is Roman Bridger, and it took him seven years to take off his wedding ring and place it into a drawer.

He never thought he'd find love again, but after so many years he finally found it again with Sidney. She helped him heal, there bond growing more intense as the years passed on, and now he was finally happy again, with a new ring on his finger.

The man spent most of his time alone, while Sidney was running around on her book tour he stayed home. He practically worked every single day, not in the mood to associate with people anymore.

Sidney called every morning and night, not caring if the time was different. Corey couldn't sleep regardless so he didn't mind staying up all hours of the night waiting for his phone to ring.

His forehead was coated in sweat as he held tightly onto a cigarette his body leaning into his truck as he listened to the soft tunes of music. He blew the smoke out his eyes widen in freight when a loud crash is heard beside him.

"Hey, what the fuck man!" he let out an angry scoff as he glared at the man who threw a wrench towards his truck. "You're a fucking freak Corey Becker! You hear me! Think you could just fire me! Uh think you have the power to take my job like that!". Corey laughed as he threw his cigarette onto the ground, putting it out with his boot.

"Oh Steven, you're hilarious, but we both know you got yourself fired when you kept stealing my money, you should be lucky I'm even letting you go without involving the police".

Corey moved to the side when the man went to punch him. "You're drunk Steven, you better get your sorry ass outta here before I do something I'll regret". Steven let out a loud laugh "you gonna kill me? I know your story, I've seen stab".

Corey rolled his eyes "those movies are old as shit Steven, wish people would drop them already, it's ridiculous how many they've made". He leaned into his truck sighing deeply when Steven punched him, he gripped the man's arm roughly.

"Alright I've about lost it Steven!" The man cried out as Corey dragged him out of the shop. His fingers digging into his flesh harshly as he threw the man into the sidewalk. "Get the fuck outta here! Next time I'll shot you if you step on my property! And I won't be nice about it either".

Steven ran off and Corey let out an annoyed breath as he kicked angrily at the wall. His phone began ringing and he grabbed a hold of it smiling slightly as he pressed it against his ear.

"Hey Sid, how's the tour going" he grabbed his car keys off his desk getting into his truck.

"Oh you know it's going surprisingly pretty well, never thought this many people would enjoy my book so much, wonder if this is what Gale felt like when she made her books".

Corey laughed as he drove off "well her books were mostly false in some parts, at least yours is true and I truly love the part about me, I am a pretty handsome guy who's also a hero".

"I have one stop left and then I can finally come home, although it was a last minute decision. I don't think you'll be really fond about it".

Corey sighed "let me guess it's woodsboro, I mean it was bond to happen, that's where everything started, I'm going there with you Sid, I'm not really fond of that place but I don't trust it".

"Corey, you don't have to go with me all the way to woodsboro, I'll only be gone for a few days and besides nothings gonna happen, I'll be fine".

The man smirked "and let you be alone with that wench of an assistant you have? No way! Besides I can finally see Jill, she's a good kid and I don't know why you never visit her, I mean it was awkward when I found out you even had a cousin! You literally didn't mention her, I found out from Dewey about it, it was so bad!".

"I'd rather stick to my life, I don't wanna make her uncomfortable.. you know how people feel around me when they figure out who I am. Besides she's never really meant me, I don't think she'd like me very much, not as much as you".

Corey parked the car "well while you're having your book signing I'll visit Jill, she's been calling me like crazy wondering if I'm ever gonna see her, I'm just gonna tell Tate and Randy I'm heading out for a few days, not like they'll really notice. They're busy with the twins anyways".

"I'll see you soon, promise me you'll call when you're in woodsboro" he smiled as he walked inside the house "I promise Sid, love you!".

He ended the call Tatum appeared in the doorway grinning "you'll never believe what Casey said today" Corey grinned "please tell me it was something good! I told you she'd be a trouble maker when she was born".

Tatum sighed deeply "she's nine years old and she's running around saying bitch! Gosh I'm such a bad mother, at least Roman is a good kid, he made Casey sit in the time out chair after she called me bitch.. it was kinda funny".

Corey smirked "Roman's my favorite, don't tell Casey I said that, are they here? I was hoping I could see them before I head out to woodsboro to make sure Sidney's alright and what not".

Tatum walked into the living room "they're sleeping, had a long day at school, but don't worry I'll tell them uncle Corey will see them when he's back, Randy's at work so I'll tell him you left, I'm still waiting for you to have kids one day".

Corey laughed lightly "me and Sid aren't married yet, we're more focused on that right now, besides I don't want kids yet, I'm fine being an uncle".

Tatum grinned "I wish you two would just get married already, it's been a year since you proposed, the second that tour is over, I'll drag you both to a court house myself".

She kissed Corey's cheek "I gotta make the kids lunch since Randy forgot, but promise me you'll be safe and you better call me!".

He smiled "I will Tate, you'll be the first person I call if anything happens". He ran up the stairs going into his room, he pulled open the closet door grabbing his suit case.

His eyes looked at the photos on the wall, he smiled sadly at the one of him and Roman. The man smiling brightly as he held onto a piece of cake, with sprinkles coating the entire thing.

Weak little numbers saying 29 Corey made it when he was slightly drunk, but he didn't care if it was messy. Roman practically threw it up after he ate it, Corey felt so bad about it the entire night.

Corey looked away from the photo packing his bag quickly before storming out of the room. "Uncle Corey? Where are you going..." Casey stood in front of her bedroom door.

Her hair wild as she rubbed at her eyes he smiled at her as he kneeled down "hey princess, I'm just going to see Sidney, I'll be be gone for a few days, I'll bring you back something".

The little girl smiled brightly "promise! Mama doesn't let me keep the things you give me, she said sharp things aren't safe until I'm older".

He grinned "hey one of these days I'll get you a proper knife, it'll help you feel safe whenever you're outside and feel scared. Even Rome will get one, you two can keep each other safe".

Casey smiled "I'll miss you uncle Corey, promise you won't be gone long" he kissed her cheek "you go and help your mom set the table, I'll be back in three days, and we can go anywhere you wanna go".

The little girl smiled happily before racing down the stairs Corey stood up off the ground grabbing his suitcase and carefully walking down the steps.

"I'm heading out Tatum!" he left putting his suitcase into his truck. Casey pushed open the front door waving "bye uncle Corey! Have fun!".

He smiled as he waved at her, he drove off down the road turning the radio on to help him relax.

ย ย  Woodsboro looked the same, Corey honestly didn't think he'd ever come back here. Yet here he was parking his truck and stepping out of it in a hurry. He walked into the small book shop, being careful not to accidentally bump into someone.

"Suddenly I realized it was everything I was. A victim. It was unacceptable to me. I sat down to write a new role for myself. As a woman who can put the fear behind themselves and get out of the darkness in the sunlight".

Sidney smiled brightly "thank you" Sidney set the book down onto the table her assistant smiling brightly as she held onto a copy.

"The signing will start soon, take the chance to buy a copy before they sell out" Corey grinned slightly as Sidney approached him "I would totally love an autograph Mrs.Prescott, but seems I don't have a pen on me at the moment".

She smiled as she hugged him "why didn't you call me and tell me you were here Corey". He shrugged his shoulders "I just got here, didn't wanna disturb you while you were having your moment".

The door opened and Sidney turned "Gale, you came" the woman hugged Sidney tightly "congratulations Sidney, I haven't had the chance to read it yet but I'm sure it's good".

Corey hugged Gale tightly "hey I didn't know you'd be here too Corey, it's nice seeing you". He smiled "I figured why not visit, I mean it's Sidney's last stop on the tour, so why not".

Sidney walked off to speak with a few people and Corey looked at Gale. "I read your last book, it was very eventful, loved the way you wrote about me the most, how I was an unstable wreak who wanted to die at the hands of the world".

He rolled his eyes "it was a cheap shot Gale, I was honestly surprise you didn't drag me through the mud anymore, I mean you had so many things you could've made up, it's not like you would've told the truth about me anyways".

Gale went to speak but stopped when the door opened she frowned deeply "hey, Dewey" the man looked at Gale "you had time to come Gale?".

He sighed deeply as he pulled his hat off Sidney neared him "what's going on?". He sighed "I'm sorry, Sid, but I have to....".

Corey's eyes widen when police cars appeared outside there sirens loud as Dewey smiled sadly. "This is quick, excuse me everyone! Stand where you are and remain silent, no one leaves this room".

Sidney's assistant sighed deeply "can this wait? I have a book signing here". Dewey shock his head "I have a police case here". Gale frowned "what's going on Dewey?" Corey gripped onto Sidney's hand sighing deeply.

"We believe a phone that was stolen from a crime scene is here, Deputy Sheriff Hicks has tracked it to this location". Everyone was silent and Dewey held tightly onto his phone, then the ringing could be heard.

"It's coming from out here! everyone ran outside the ringing getting louder. "It's coming from the trunk" Dewey looked at the car letting out a shaky breath. "Dewey?" He looked at Sidney "not now Sid". She let out a heavy breath.

"It's my rental" she threw the keys at Dewey and he opened the trunk the ringing stopping. "Get everyone back! This is now a crime scene" Corey looked at the bloody photos and the phone.

He let out a shaky breath as he pressed his hand against his mouth Sidney let out a sigh. "Say it's a Joke" Dewey looked at Sidney and Corey.

"Sorry Sid" Corey sneered angrily "fuck, I knew you shouldn't have come here". He walked off towards his truck his breath hitching in the back of his throat when he opened the door and saw the blood. It coated his entire passenger seat leading into the back. He let out a shaky breath as he grabbed the tarp seeing the blood beneath it.

It pulled it quickly tears slipping out of his eyes "no!" he moved back colliding into Sidney. She gasped "Dewey! Over here!" Corey looked at it his eyes growing heavy.

The photos coated in the fresh blood the dead animal staring at his eyes as the knife was stabbed into its skull. "Stay back!" He felt lightheaded as he looked at the old photos of him and Roman.

The man's face covered in blood making Corey let out a shaky breath as he walked off down the road. "Corey wait!" he ignored Sidney and Dewey his eyes darkening as he grabbed the pocket knife out of his back pocket.

authors notes:
Corey in his uncle era we love that! Maybe next act he'll be in his father era, who knows maybe? Also I was gonna originally have Jill leave Corey alone but then I was like... nah it's more dramatic this way, she totally didn't know he was in town until like last minute, so she for sure improvised. I can't wait to see Corey wreak her shit up when he realizes it's her behind the mask.
