26-Oh Ventress

To remain unseen I crawled through the ventilation shaft and dropped down near her cell. There was only one clone today posted in front of her cell. He turned to me as I walked near him and I kept my head down so he wouldn't recognize me.

"What is your business here?" He questioned me and I waved my hand in front of him.

"You're hungry."

"I'm hungry"

"You're gonna go get dinner." I waved again.

"I'm gonna go get dinner." He started to walk away but I stopped him.

"You're going to give me the key for the cuffs."

"I'm going to give you the key for the cuffs." He took the key that was placed in his armor and handed it to me before turning and leaving.

I pressed the key pad next to the cell to lower the shield and Ventress hopped out of her bed with a smirk plastered on her lips. "For a second I thought you weren't going to show. I was about to start singing to the guards about your precious Anakin."

I rolled my eyes and raised my hand to use the force and crushed the camera that was on the corner ceiling. "I do this and you never speak about Anakin again."

"Of course sister." She still held a smirk as she lifted her arms so I could remove the cuffs. I walked to her and placed the key in and the cuffs unlocked, dropping to the floor. She rubbed her writers, "Feels good to get those off."

"Come on, I stole a speeder for you. It's on the roof. You're going to take it and leave this planet." I stepped closer to her and I held her gaze trying my best to be intimidating, "And you will never come back into my life. I want to never see you again. Is that clear?"

She chuckled and nodded. A part of me didn't believe her though.

I pulled her through the hallways and up into the ventilation shaft. We crawled through until we finally reached the vent that would lead us to the roof.

Once we got on the roof I pointed to the speeder, "Get out of here, I need to get back before they realize you're gone."

She laughed, "Not so fast sister. There's something we should have a chat about."

I groaned in frustration, "What is it?"

"I watched the hologram, I know it was actually Skywalker who killed our father. I expected you to come clean to me yesterday. But you're always protecting that idiot Jedi." She shook her head, "He's not even a very good one. He murdered an unarmed man and tortured me." She clicked her tongue.

I clenched my fists and turned away not wanting her to see the anger I was feeling because of her, "Ventress let it go and leave." I hated that she could do this to me.

She laughed menacingly, "Thanks for breaking me out, really. But I think the temple deserves to know what kind of Jedi they have. Him, a murderer and You, a traitor covering up for said murderer." She walked closer to me so she was just a foot behind me.

I felt my body stiffen, I should have known that no matter what I did she was going to do this. She will never let me live a happy life and I would be okay if it was just me she was trying to hurt. But not him, not Anakin. I needed to protect him from her. I would not allow her to ruin him.

I sighed, "Oh Ventress." I said her name in a low disappointed tone. I ignited one of my sabers and spun around quickly, impaling her in the abdomen, "You really should have just left."

She cried from the pain and her eyes widened as they burned into mine. I gave her an emotionless stare as I retracted my weapon from her and she fell to the ground. Her hands slowly moved to her wound as she was gasping for air. Blood dropping from her mouth.

I knelt down next to her, "I really am sorry but I can't let you hurt him." Her eyes stayed on mine and she was looking at me with pure hate. I continued to watch as she took her last breathe. Her head hitting the floor and arms falling to her sides.

I quickly picked up her body and put it in the speeder before anybody could come out here an see.

I drove to a secluded area and burned her body where no one would notice.

I felt remorse for what I'd done but she gave me no other option. As long as she was alive I was never going to be able to have a happy life. She would always try to find a way to ruin it and bring Anakin down with me. I shed a tear for her and said my goodbyes.

I hurried to the temple. I wasn't sure if it was known now that Ventress was no longer in her cell and I wanted to be seen on grounds so I didn't look suspicious.

I kept my hood up as I made my way to Anakin's room, "(y/n)?"

I heard a familiar voice and I turned to meet the face of my master, "Obi-Wan." I smiled softly.

"What are you doing up? Were you crying? Are you okay?" He stepped closer to me with concern on his features.

"I'm fine Obi-Wan," I gave him a warm smile to hide my sadness, "I've just been through a lot and I needed to take a walk and clear my head. But I'm going up to rest now."

"Alright but let me know if there's anything you need," he placed a hand on my shoulder, "I never got to tell you how sorry I am for the things you went through on Byss, if you ever need to talk, dual it out, or just cry about it. I'm here for you." He hugged me for a quick second then let go so no other Jedi would see. "And tell Anakin I said hello." He smirked.

I nodded and I had to stop tears from falling out over the guilt I was feeling. He loved me and believed in me so much and tonight I failed him terribly."Thank you Master, I will."

I got to Anakins room and he was already asleep. I crept around the room quietly taking off my cloak and stripping down to nothing. I grabbed one of his shirts and put it on and it reached my mid thigh.

I got into bed with him and kept a small distance from him so I wouldn't wake him up. I heard him groan and he reached over and pulled me close to him.

"How did it go with Lida?" He mumbled half asleep, not even opening his eyes.

"Fine." I spoke quietly. I was tired of lying I just wanted to sleep and let this dreadful day be over. I murdered my sister. Wether it was for a good reason or not I still felt like a horrible person.

"Are you okay?" He asked and I knew it was cause he could feel my grief. I didn't even have it in me to lie again. Instead, I burst into tears. He quickly wrapped his arms around me and pulled me to him. His fingers brushed through my hair as he kept telling me that it was okay.

He was the one person I couldn't lie to. He was my partner and my best friend. I was going to tell him, he would forgive me. I know he would. Right?

"I did something horrible," I continued to cry. "Please don't hate me."

"Whatever it is, we can get through it I promise, you can tell me anything." He still held me in his arms as he used his fingers to trail circles on my back. "I could never hate you (y/n)."

After a moment of silence I finally told him, "I killed her." I mumbled so low I wasn't even sure if he would here me.

He stiffened and gently pushed me away from him so he could look into my eyes, "Who?" I searched his eyes for judgement, anger, or disgust. But all I saw was concern.

"Ventress." I shifted my gaze down to the blanket.

"She's in prison?" He commented confused.

I shook my head and I proceeded to tell him everything, from me visiting her yesterday, to her blackmailing me, to me killing her. I dropped my head in my hands. What kind of Jedi am I? Did I even deserve to be one? Should I leave?

He was quiet the whole time I told him my story. I was worried he was gonna run for the door, but he placed a hand on mine. "We just have to make sure the council never finds out it was you. Ventress has a lot of separatists on her side, the blame can be placed on anyone." He wasn't looking at me but instead he seemed to be lost in his own mind.

"You don't hate me for what I did?" I asked with tears in my eyes.

He looked into my eyes with a soft expression.
"I could never hate you, you were trying to protect me. That's something I can understand. I would have done the same for you." He cupped my face with one hand and rubbed his thumb on my jawline, "I have done the same for you. But don't lie to me again. Next time something is going on, tell me so I can help you."

Suddenly an alarm blaring pulled our attention away from each other for a moment. We both looked back at each other knowing what it was. And it was only a matter of seconds before they called him.

They realized Ventress was gone.

(a/n So sorry that this one is short but I just wanted to get this part out of the way. I hope you liked it! I'm a little mehhh about it.)
