CHERRY LIP GLOSS. . .

- - -

Sakura didn't know what was happening.

And, frankly, Sakura is scared.

Right after the day started, everything was normal. Sakura had woken up in a fairly early time, arrived at school — a peaceful day. Sakura actually had a smile on her face the whole time; small, but it's still something.

There was a small thing, though — she decided to wear the lip gloss she recently bought. It was cherry-flavored. Sakura liked the flavor and actually found herself wearing it often. She only applied a light layer, barely visible.

But it was nothing interesting. It still started out as a normal day.

Until Tsukasa and Natsuhiko decided to ruin everything.

Tsukasa was the first one. He pestered Sakura with useless and annoying questions (questionable questions?). Sakura had to hold herself back or she would've done something she would've regretted later on. Like punch a certain someone.

"What do kisses taste like?"

Sakura glanced at Tsukasa momentarily, watching as he floated around her — she began to feel a bit dizzy from Tsukasa circling her. Sakura went back to her reading and kept  her mouth shut, afraid that she would just fuel Tsukasa's childish actions with answering him

"I heard kisses tasted like lemon."

Sakura began to lose focus on her book, growing more and more annoyed at the ghost. Her eyebrow twitched in irritation. It's not like her to lose her cool, but she wasn't in the mood for Tsukasa's antics right now.

Before she could even say anything though, Tsukasa was already in front of her, his face inches away from hers. "Wanna find out?"

Sakura gave him a good smack on the head.

But, oh no, it doesn't end there.

Natsuhiko was next in line.

"My lady!" Natsuhiko called out, a wide grin on his face at the sight of Sakura on a bench, minding her own business.

He sat down next to her. Sakura still kept quiet. The green-eyed girl actually enjoyed it, serenity washed over them, the leaves were swaying, she felt relaxed at the faint chatters of students — she felt at ease. That was all ruined when Natsuhiko kept on bouncing his right knee up and down.

"Natsuhiko," she said.

The redhead perked up. "Yes, my lady?"

"Please stop that."

He visibly deflated. "Ah, okay." He hummed a bit, as if he was thinking deeply. He then stared at Sakura. "My lady, is that a new lipstick?"

Sakura instinctively raised her fingers, hovering above her lips. "I don't wear lipstick."

Natsuhiko cocked a brow, seemingly surprised at this information. "Wait, really? So your lips are naturally like that? Since I met you, I was wondering what lip products you use."

What is it with boys and their sudden interest in lips? Sakura thought, frowning. "No lipstick, but I did apply a bit of lip gloss today."

Natsuhiko beamed, his eyes sparkling. "Oh! So that's why they're shinier than usual." He moved closer to inspect.

Sakura turned her head, and then realized a shadow loomed over. She tilted her head to see Tsukasa floating above her, a pout on his lips.

Sakura stood up. "I don't know what is up with you boys, but I've had enough." She left without any more words, ignoring the frantic calls of her two companions.

The green-eyed girl was actually annoyed. Sure, she gets annoyed every now and then, but she's absolutely furious and. . .confused. Maybe she's just overreacting.

As soon as she took a turn, she bumped into a body. Tall. He was tall. Sakura looked up in surprise, then her eyes flashed in recognition.

Minamoto Teru blinked and looked down. He forced a smile to grace his lips. "Ah, sorry," he said, chuckling nervously. His icy blue eyes then pierced through her soul, as if he's seen her before, and not in a good way.

Sakura mumbled her own apology and quickly left, her steps faster than they were earlier.

She's heard of the Prince of Kamome; Minamoto Teru. Tsukasa had mentioned that he was an exorcist who deeply hated apparitions, yet he spared Tsukasa's twin, Hanako. Teru was absolutely famous with girls, which was why Natsuhiko deeply envied him.

If she gets involved with Teru, or she catches his curiosity somehow, then she might be risking Tsukasa's, er, ghost life. And she wouldn't want that.

"Ah! Sakura-senpai!"

Sakura halted in her steps. She breathed in slowly, before she turned around. Teru stood there, clutching a book. Sakura almost cursed, since when did she drop that? She must've panicked and left it there, in a hurry to leave the situation.

So Teru knows her.

Sakura swallowed the urge to gulp and took the book from him. "Thank you," she mumbled, trying to seem not at all bothered by her situation.

Teru smiled sweetly. "So, you're interested in the mysteries, senpai?"

Sakura almost lost her calm. She completely forgot that the book was about the mysteries. She felt like she was on a tightrope. "Ah, yes." The reason as to why she limited her words was because of the fear Teru will recognize her voice.

"Why?" Teru asked. He seemed to have all the time in the world.

Sakura glanced down on the book, then back at him. Her heart throbbed. "I was bored," was all she said.

"You're part of the Broadcasging Club, right? You know, senpai, your voice sounds familiar, now that I think about it." Teru's eye glinted dangerously, a shadow casted over his face. "Why is that?"

"You might be hearing things, Minamoto-san," Sakura said, finally gathering the courage to stare at him with her chin raised. "Now, if you'll excuse me. I'll be taking my leave."

"Watch your back, senpai."

Sakura pretended she didn't hear that.

She hurried over to the Broadcasting Club room, trying her best to calm down. It's definitely not like her to get all emotional, but that was a dangerous situation. She was on thin ice.

The door opened, and two figures curled into a ball flinched. Natsuhiko and Tsukasa stared at Sakura, tears brimming in their eyes. Sakura paused in shock.

"We're sorry!" Natsuhiko exclaimed. "The brat and I just made a bet about your lip gloss and we didn't think we would make you upset!"

Tsukasa cried and flew over to Sakura to hug her, whining incoherent words, muffled because he buried his face on her clothes. Sakura relaxed and pat his head two times.

"It's. . .fine," Sakura said. "We're fine."

She decided to stop wearing the cherry-flavored lip gloss the next day, and warn them about a threat.
