REALIZATIONS AND CONFESSIONS. . .

— may not seem like it but i love teru sm,,
— aaaa i think it's ooc :( but i'll let you guys decide

Teru, with his charming looks, sweet smile, and kind personality. Teru, with his stupid, looks, stupid smile, and stupid personality ( fake, fake, fake ) can't all of you see?

Teru is stupid.

Teru disgusts Akane.

Teru is the epitome of perfect, and that itself makes his head ache because no one—and he means absolutely no one—is perfect. Humans aren't perfect. And yet Teru had the goddamn audacity to step into this world, born and fed with a silver ( diamond or even gold, maybe ) spoon, with his golden wardrobe and million-dollar smile. Smart, handsome, and kind—what more does he want? He has everything.

Then again, Teru has flaws, too.

He has a darker side, the part the moon's hiding; the part of himself that he's hiding from those who simply view him as a prince. A more . . . unsympathetic side, you can say. Minamoto Teru is absolutely ruthless towards apparitions such as Akane. As he is born in a family strict of exorcism, Teru grew up to hate all kinds of supernaturals, and he had sworn to kill off those evil spirits.

But even his flaw is perfect.

Because what he's doing is deemed good.

Akane hates him so, so much. This hatred isn't a secret, either. Teru knows that Akane doesn't like him being around. They bicker more than Yako and Tsuchigomori themselves when they're behind closed doors, spewing out rude nonsense, Akane with his sarcasm, and Teru with his sugar-coated threats.

But maybe, just maybe. Akane is just jealous.

He's jealous that Teru has everything within his reach, just a simple stretch and he has the world. He's jealous that Akane is seen as the one with the horns, and Teru is the one with the halo; looks like an angel, and supposedly acts like an angel. He's jealous that everything is easy to him, while Akane likes one girl and she doesn't even like him back.

Why? He would ask himself that everytime.

"What the hell happened back there?" Teru growled, referring to a small incident Mirai caused earlier.

"Nothing," Akane said, frowning. "It's all taken care of—"

Teru smiled. A close-eyed, forced smile that never failed to make Akane gulp. ( fake, fake, fake ). "We've talked about this, Aoi. Apparitions, especially the seven mysteries, shouldn't disturb the school students. And yet what happened back there?" Akane clicked his tongue at Teru's menacing tone, dripping with threat.

Akane just wanted to shove Teru's face away. He knew that Teru meant to protect the students, but it was wrong of him to assume that he did it if a single apparition messed everything up. ( Cough, the other two first mysteries ).

"Can you just leave me alone?" Akane sighed, exasperated. "We've already fixed the mess and I've had enough punishment trying to catch that damn brat."

Teru smiled again. "Keep those mysteries at bay. This is the third time this month, this school is going to have a bad reputation." Right. Because it's Akane's fault, apparently. Akane should really get used to the fact that Teru is only the villain in his story.

And yet . . . you can't help but fall for it. Like a helpless, little bug, you're trapped on his spider's cobweb; exactly where he wants you to be. Love him or hate him, it doesn't matter either way because with his intimidatingly powerful aura, you respect him.

"Are you alright?"

Akane flinched, caught off guard by the sound of Teru's voice ( of–freaking–course it's Teru, who else would be the one bothering him while he's obviously sulking and doesn't want to be bothered? ) "'m fine," Akane groaned, words muffled by his arm.

"Is there something bothering you?"

Your existence bothers me.

"No," Akane said. "I'm just . . . tired?" For dramatic effect, Akane yawned and slumped on his seat, eyes drooping.

Teru hummed and sat on the chair across him, watching Akane closely. "You sound unsure about that. Tell me the truth, Aoi."

"Oh, so you're concerned now?" Akane didn't mean to make it sound so bitter, but it bothered Akane that they had a fight yesterday and Teru is acting like this. Maybe he wants something? What could he possibly get out of this?

"Stop overthinking so much, Akane," Teru said, frowning: doesn't look good on his face.

Ah, there it is. That rare moment where Teru would call him by his first name as if they're close friends, as if they don't fight and bicker every single day, as if Teru isn't disgusted by the fact that Akane is a supernatural. Never once did Akane consider Teru as a friend. "Leave me alone." Classic line, but effective.

"I'm not going away until you tell me what's wrong."

That snapped something inside Akane. He turned to Teru, boiling hot with rage. Like a volcano waiting for the right moment to explode with deadly, scorching lava—Akane bursted. "You want to know what's wrong? Isn't it obvious? You're my problem here!" He screamed. Teru briefly glanced at the door to check if it was closed, no one has seen this side of Akane before. "Walking in my life like everything is going to be okay! Fighting with me, then acting as if nothing happened the next day—what the hell is wrong with you!?"

Teru just stared at Akane, no emotion present on those blue eyes of his. He just stared and stared, possibly waiting for Akane to be done, but no! Akane isn't done yet. He's not close to done.

"I don't know if everything is a joke to you. I don't know if you don't think I can see past your crappy facade. I don't know if what I feel means nothing to you. But what I do know is that this isn't a game, okay?" He's calmer now, voice soft and trembling, but there's still anger burning behind his eyes. "Look, I've always been jealous of you, Minamoto. You were always the golden child, and I've been hostile to you because of it. I'm jealous that I don't have it like you do. And you're not making this easier by being a huge piece of sh—"

"Hasn't it ever occured to you that if I really despised you I would've exorcised you already?"

Akane froze, unblinking. "What? Of course you won't exorcise me, that's murder to an innocent student. Besides, I'm not an apparition forever. Right?"

Teru sighed and relaxed on his chair. "Of course I don't mean to exorcise you completely. But I mean that I would've forced them to remove your power. And maybe exorcise those apparitions in the process. But if I also really hated you, don't you think I wouldn't be talking to you?"

"What are you trying to say. . ?"

"I'm trying to say that I enjoy being with you, Akane. I didn't know you were jealous of me, but there's nothing to be jealous about. You're fine on your own, and everyone likes you for that. Even me," Teru told him. "I didn't know you felt this way, and I apologise. I've always considered you close to me, all joking aside. If you need space from me, then you can just say it. I promise I'll leave you alone."

Does Akane really want that? He's said so many times to leave him alone, but right now, the only person who can understand Akane is Teru.

"No. . ."

"Hm?"

Akane looked away. "No. Don't leave. Just—stay quiet. I'll just. . ." Akane plopped his chin on the table and sighed, one that's of relief now that he finally got things out of his chest. "I'll just stay here for a while."

Teru smiled. But there's something different from this smile, it wasn't fake anymore—not the smile Akane hated to see—but a genuine one where it's soft, and he can't help the curl of his lips. He rest his head on his arm, making Akane only see his mop of spiky hair.

Akane smiled. He could get used to this.
