THE NEWLY-WED. . !

amanene wedding!

There was no else in the world who is happier than Amane right now. He couldn't stop himself, tears began to trickle down his cheek as he watched the love of his life walk gracefully on the red carpet, dressed in a white gown that complimented her figure (cough, radish legs).

Yashiro walked down the aisle with her father, her gown trailing behind her. The crowd watched in awe as she walked, eyes glued on Amane who was also grinning ear-to-ear, eyes glossy.

Once Yashiro was beside Amane, the boy couldn't help himself: his eyes were trained on his fiancee, or technically considered his wife now. She looks so breathtaking that Amane felt like he just came back from running in a marathon, heart beating so loudly he didn't doubt the whole church could hear it.

Her hair was styled, curled into waves that perfectly framed her face. Her lips were glossy and rosy, bringing out the light in her eyes — then again, no matter what Yashiro wears, no matter how many layers of makeup she'd put, no matter how she styles her hair: Amane would still find her as the most gorgeous being in the world. No Goddess can compete with her, or at least no Goddess will lure Amane more, because to him, the ethereal woman that held the beauty of all is the same woman who is standing right next to him.

Amane didn't even realize that it was suddenly time for vows until he noticed everyone was staring at him expectantly. The male cleared his throat, ready to spill his feelings out with this simple vow.

"Nene," Amane began, smiling softly as Yashiro stared back at him, "my best friend, my partner in crime, my lover, my one and only—" no matter now many times Amane could be cheesy, Yashiro still couldn't help but flush red— "I promise you that I will be worth it for you. I promise you that I'm worth the time, the energy, the embarrassment—" the crowd and Yashiro couldn't help but laugh a bit under their breaths at that— "and most importantly, worth of your love. . ."

Yashiro's eyes began to well with tears when Amane's voice became so sincere. In fact, she could only just see it in his eyes how much he meant every word. But Amane wasn't even done, no, he wasn't even close!

"You are my priority," Amane told her. "Even if you were my only priority even before this very day, I promise you that I would always look for you first — you will always come first because I love you. You know why I love you? When you came into my life, I have never been so happy, so I promise you that I will make sure you will feel the same way. I devote my life into making you feel happy and loved."

And then Yashiro was crying. Amane knew she couldn't help herself (and really, Amane is to blame in the first place). Yashiro is an emotional girl, but Amane's not just taking advantage of that, because no matter how much of a crybaby Yashiro is, Amane would always find a way to crack down her walls.

"Amane—" Yashiro had to pause because a tear slipped, making Amane chuckle— "words won't ever be able to explain how much I love you. I adore you, so, so much that it hurts sometimes because I keep wondering if I ever really deserve you. But you made me feel like I deserve you. And I promise to make sure I'll be the best lover; I will be worth of your time. You are the prince charming in my fairytale book, Amane. You are the one I have been searching for my whole life, so I promise you I will make you the happiest man alive."

Amane mentally scoffed. She already does make me feel like that.

The priest spoke up, "may these rings be blessed as a symbol of your union. As often as either of you look upon these rings, may you not only be reminded of this moment, but also of the vows you have made and the strength of your commitment to each other. Amane, please repeat after me. . ."

"With this ring I thee wed. . ."

Amane gently holds Yashiro's porcelain skin, tempted to make a show of kissing the back of her palm, but instead carefully slid on the ring (given by a Mokke) on Yashiro's ring finger.

"With this ring I thee wed," Yashiro uttered out.

Yashiro held Amane's hand in her own, feeling his calloused hand brush against her smooth ones. Yashiro smiled and also slid on the ring.

"Go now in peace and live in love, sharing the most precious gifts you have the gifts of your lives united. And may your days be long on this earth. I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bri—"

Amane wasted no time. He's been wanting to do it since he saw Yashiro's face anyway. Tears in their eyes, Amane's lips crashed onto hers, almost clumsily because it's rushed, but Yashiro didn't mind. The crowd broke into loud cheers.

On the sidelines, Kou was bawling his eyes out as if he's the dad and he's giving away his daughter, aggressively wiping the tears away, to no avail. Beside Kou, stood Mitsuba, groaning for the umpteenth time.

"Cut it out," Mitsuba said sternly, but he was crying, too.

After a few more minutes, everyone went outside, laughter filling the air. Yashiro threw the bouquet behind her head and realized that Aoi was the one who caught it, Akane shrieking in joy because of it.

"You guys aren't even dating yet," Teru pointed out.

Y

ashiro squealed at the sight of a huge, cream cake on the table, decorated with strawberries and frosting. She almost drooled at the sight. Amane popped up beside her and chuckled. "I heard it's based off of your favorite food: strawberry rice cake," he proclaimed confidently.

Yashiro's eyes sparkled. "No way! I'm gonna have to thank the Mokkes for that! Where's Tsuchigomori-sensei and Yako-nee-san? I don't think they'd like this." As if on cue, they heard bickering on the other side of the table.

"Speak of the devil," Amane muttered. The newly-wed couple walked over to the two, smiling at the sight of Tsuchigomori and Yako animatedly bickering about the choice of sweet that the Mokkes had picked as the officials.

"Who would add plain donuts next to a strawberry rice-cake?" Yako huffed, pointing at the donuts with disgust. Amane drooled at the sight of his favorite food right next to the big and tall cake. "That is not the best combination. What is this? A sweet shop? It's like a child with an incurable sweet tooth arranged this! And then everyone will be seeing this monstrosity."

Tsuchigomori sighed. "I know, I know. But these are the favorite food of—"

"Is everything alright here?" Yashiro asked the couple. "We could hear you from miles away, you know," she added with a giggle.

Yako blushed. "Right. Sorry about that. But I just cannot accept that there are only a limited options of food! I mean, it's all sweets! When the guests leave this place, they'll have cavities, an aching stomach, and a ruined diet!"

Tsuchigomori rolled his eyes, but can't help but smile at Yako's antics. "It's already been done. Next time, you arrange the wedding, yeah?"

"Thank you."

The two turned to Yashiro, confused because of what she blurted. "Huh?" They both asked at the same time.

Yashiro stared at both of them. "Thank you for coming here. You guys make me feel at home—" there was a tap on Yashiro's shoulder, but before Yashiro could see who it is, she got pulled aside. Now behind a pillar, Yashiro stared at Amane in bewilderment. "Amane! Why are you eating a donut already!?"

Amane shushed her and ate the last bit of the donut, giggling like a child. Then he pecked on Yashiro's lips all of a sudden, catching her off guard. The taste of the sweet donut lingered in Yashiro's lips when she bit it. "I can do that any time I want now and no one has the right to complain!"

Yashiro pretended to look disappointed. "Darn it."

Amane rolled his eyes. "Har har." He wrapped his arms around Yashiro's waist and smiled, fondness in his eyes that made her heart soar. "I love you, so, so much." And Yashiro didn't doubt he meant it.

"I love you, too, Amane."
