Jaemin stands at the side, waiting for his mom to finish buying from the section where fishes are located, his arms folded over his chest.

He sighs as he watches the people pass by. He scrunches his nose, looking around.

"Am I really going to meet him here?" He mutters to himself. "Of all the places, why here in the market?" He puffs his cheeks, sighing once again.

Later, his mom suddenly approaches him. "Let's go, Jaemin-ah."

"Where do we go now?"

"Meat section."

He widen his eyes when he remembers a scene in his dream earlier. He slowly nods, "Okay."

In my dream, we happened to stand next to each other at the meat section. Oh my God, he could be anyone.

They walk over to the meat section and his heart begins to race, beating so fast. He's getting excited and nervous, at the same time, to meet his soulmate.

When they arrive, Jaemin just stands at the side, playing with his fingers, his heart thumping in his chest.

"Just wait here, okay?" He heard someone, a middle-aged woman, says. And the guy with her just nods.

He looks away when he sees the guy walks towards his direction. He sighs deeply when he felt the guy stands next to him.

Is this him?

He turns to him and observes the side of his face. He has nice side profile.

When the guy looks at him, he widen his eyes, realizes that this is the exact scene in his dream, but now it's in his own perspective.

They both stare at each other for a few seconds before he blinks and looks away. "Sorry." he mumbles, looking down at the floor.

The guy beside him smiles, "I'm Jeno."

He freezes for a while before turning to him again. He bites down on his lip. "So, it's you?"

Jeno chuckles, "Depends on who you are. Is your name happened to be Na Jaemin?"

"Yes." Jaemin smiles widely and Jeno flashes an eyesmile. Oh God, he's cute.

"Nice to finally meet you, Jaemin!"

"Nice to finally meet you too, Jeno!"

His heart beat goes back to normal when Jeno speaks again, "You're pretty." the older says.

He smiles shyly, "You're handsome."

And before they could lost into each other's eyes, someone calls Jaemin's name.

"Jaemin, let's go now!"

"Oh, it's my mom. I'm sorry, I have to go." He bows slightly. And just before he leaves, he felt Jeno's hand on his arm.

"Please, I want to talk to you more. Can I get your number?" Jeno blushes, scratching the back of his neck.

Jaemin nods, "Yes. Your phone, please."

"Oh. Oh, yes, wait!" Jeno pulls out his phone and panickingly unlocks it and clicks on the contacts. "Please type out your number here."

The younger grabs his phone gently and puts his number in the older's contacts with the name 'Nana' on it. "Here! Text me later. Bye!"

Jeno takes his phone and dumbfoundedly nods as he watches Jaemin waves at him and leaves, going to his mom.

"Oh my God! I can't wait to tell it to Hyuck." Jeno squeezes his phone, giggling to himself.

Jaemin walks with his mom, smiling while looking down. He doesn't want her to see him smiling like an idiot.

"Jaemin-ah, who's that guy?" she suddenly asks.

He gulps and looks at his mom. "A friend."

She raises an eyebrow, "Friend, huh?"

He looks away and secretly smiles when the image of Jeno's face pops up in his mind.

for context, the soulmate au for this is basically soulmates dream of each other's memories when one of them turns 18 years old (19 in korean age).

this is a spin-off to the book entitled “dreams of memories” which is a renhyuck fic. you don't have to read that, but if you still want to, then go ahead.
