The day has come full of visuals and art. Well let's give a hand of applause to the most truthful and experienced judge

Well let's see who wins this category

1. Deadly Perfection by LAJoyne

Design Aesthetics 25/25
The design on the cover draws the reader in well. The use of the black and white mixed with the red of the blood drops and font adds to the eerie feeling that targets the audience you want. The use of an all black background also gives that feeling of isolation, adding to the effect.

Relevance to genre and story 23/25
The fonts used for the title fit the story well, especially with the font having the blood drip effect. Also, the use of the blood splatters in the background directly relate to the overall plot. That being said, I do have a few suggestions about the picture of Jimin used. Firstly, the picture has him hiding his face - while this can relate to his struggle of perfection and wanting to hide his insecurities, hiding his face like that might make the reader bypass the fact itโ€™s Jimin on the cover. Covers really draw readers in, and this small oversight might make them accidentally unaware that itโ€™s a photo of Jimin, and thatโ€™s who the story is about.

Especially those who may be unfamiliar with certain facial features. Also, because heโ€™s hiding his face, the story cover sort of portrays the theme might be more focused on him dealing with physical insecurities rather than his strive for perfecting his dancing and the big problem that arises from that. Y/N is also another big character in the story, so an added element representing Y/N can really help the cover convey the story plot well.

Visual impact and memorability 25/25
The cover is very visually impactful and memorable. The color scheme and fonts work well together, and the aesthetics really garner the readers attention. Especially readers looking for a dark themed story.

Readability and SPaG 24.5/25
Everything written on the cover is big enough to read. All spelling is correct. My only suggestion is possibly moving the title, or even just the word โ€œperfectionโ€ down just a smidge because where it falls right now, half of the โ€œoโ€ in the word perfection falls righ Jiminโ€™s shirt color, makin Jiminโ€™s shirt color, making the letter disappear a tad bit.

2. The Deadly Brush by Hiran__0602

Design Aesthetics 24/25

The design of the cover, overall, is visually appealing and will draw readers in. The color red and the font used for the word โ€œDeadlyโ€ really fits the theme well, and gives that eerie feeling that the story is meant to portray. It looks great. With that being said, the word โ€œBrushโ€ is written in white and is a completely different font. There is a bit of a contrast here that sort of throws that eerie vibe off, because the word โ€œBrushโ€ looks very...hmmm, pretty? is the word I will use. I suggest matching the color and font of โ€œBrushโ€ to the red color and font of โ€œDeadlyโ€ to keep to that eerie vibe. Having the whole title red with the blood drip font can really make this story stand out as the ominous plot youโ€™re trying to portray.Relevance to genre and story 23/25
The main character, Jungkook, is displayed well on the cover which is definitely relevant to the story. Considering the story equally focuses on his makeup artist using makeup to poison him (through the brushes) it would be nice to see an aspect of this on the cover. Perhaps adding another character who is portrayed as a makeup artist (or even just makeup brushes being added). The way the cover looks right now, with the title being โ€œDeadly Brushโ€ it is hard to tell that the story will involve makeup until reading the blurb. This small tweak could help gain reader interest.

Visual impact and memorability 24.5/25
The cover is overall visually appealing. I will refer back to what I said in the design aesthetic - Consider shifting the font and color of the word โ€œBrushโ€ on the cover. The red font on the word โ€œDeadlyโ€ makes it really stand out, and the dripping blood effect adds to the theme very well.Readability and SPaG 24/25
The title, authorโ€™s name, and subtitle โ€œJJK Hurtficโ€ are clear and easy to read. From what I can see, everything is spelled correctly. At the top, there is a small blurb. The font is too small so it canโ€™t be read. I suggest making the font on the blurb at the top of the cover bigger. Also, sometimes using cursive in small fonts like that contributes to making it difficult to read, so it may be more beneficial to change the font to one that is not cursive. However, if simply making the font on that blurb bigger makes it easier to read, then keeping it cursive or switching to another font comes down to your personal preference.

3. The Chosen Concubine by xyzabcuhg

3. The Chosen Concubine by xyzabcuhg [3rd Place]

Design Aesthetics 23/25
All of the of photos used for the cover are very aesthetic. The use of black and white for the two main characterโ€™s, Jungkook and Lisa, fit the mood of the story youโ€™re trying to convey. The photo of the woman at the window portrays that sort of longing feeling the characterโ€™s face. The design at the top adds another element to the cover, and that design itself also matches well with the windows youโ€™ve chosen to use. Aside from that, the Wattpad logo you have placed on the cover seems very out of place - both aesthetically and location wise. The actual W logo is halfway off the cover, so you canโ€™t see the whole thing. If you want to have this logo on your cover to show that this story is only written on Wattpad, I suggest moving it somewhere else on the cover to where it fits, however the word โ€œWattpadโ€ takes up a lot of room as well. To combat that, you might want to consider only having the orange circle part on there. This will help it fit better and wonโ€™t draw the readerโ€™s attention away from the rest of the cover.

Relevance to genre and story 25/25
The cover has a picture of the two main characterโ€™s, along with some other elements to help enhance the portrayal of the plot. The color scheme represents the somber theme of the story in a good manner. It is directly relevant to the story.

Visual impact and memorability 23/25
The photos used are impactful and memorable. Each one conveys its own message and brings the story to life through the cover, representing your theme quite well. As for visual impact, I will say this cover has a lot going on at once. Along with there being three different photos blended together, there is a lot of text. From the Wattpad logo, to the long blurb at the top, to the title in the middle and authorโ€™s name at the bottom, readers might not know where to look. It appears to be a bit overcrowded. As mentioned before, I suggest doing something different with the Wattpad logo if itโ€™s something you want to keep on the cover. The title and your author name are in a good spot, so I suggest perhaps to combat the overcrowded-ness, to re-consider having such a long blurb at the top, or removing it completely. That will lend the reader the opportunity to focus more on the visual aspect of the cover and not so much on all the text.

Readability and SPaG 22/25
From what I can see, everything on the cover seems to be spelled correctly. The font used for the title does make it easy to read, however I suggest making it just a tad bit bigger. Your author name at the bottom is a good size, however the font does seem a bit blurry, and the color is quite opaque, which does make it slightly difficult to read. My suggestion is to change the font and color to help it stand out in a clearer manner, especially considering the size itself is already good. The blurb at the top is, unfortunately, unreadable because the text is quite small. As mentioned before, I suggest you consider shortening this blurb or even taking it away altogether. If you shorten it, you can make the font of it bigger without it overtaking the entire cover and then the reader will still get that small glimpse of text youโ€™d like them to see.
