shit at math and stolen kisses

THE wind was violently tapping against the window. It was somewhat cold in the town of Hawkins. Aries did not think her night would revolve around going to Steve Harringtons house then getting dropped off home by Lorenzo Wheeler. The world seemed to be going insane.

Aries Hopper, the girl who never did anything fun or cared to give any fucks about anything fun, had fun for one of the first times in her life. Still processing everything that happened Friday night, starting with Steve Harrington and his horrid friends and ending with Lorenzo Wheeler and his charming smile. Aries tried so desperately to escape the charm but the more time she spent with Enzo it was getting harder. The girl was sure she didn't have any feelings for him but she was certain she liked hanging out with him.

She wasn't completely wiping his name off of her board now. Before she'd never even give it a second thought, if Lorenzo Wheeler liked her she always knew she'd say no. But now she was questioning it. The first boy in years besides Jonathan that was truly nice to her. He wasn't trying to get something out of her and he wasn't looking for anything more then Aries presence.

The car ride was a blur, she'd remember little clips and images of the car ride home. Enzo's soothing voice sending sweet chills down her spine. But most importantly she'd remembered how genuine he was, they talked for hours outside of her house. It felt like hours when Aries was trying to remember, it was hard. Like a bus had hit her and she was slowly regaining her memory back.

But she knew for certain that, Lorenzo Wheeler was the top thing on her mind this morning. And what better way to get rid of that itching sensation to go out and tell your best friend all about it, right?

It was hard walking through the school halls trying to look for Esme, Jonathan, or even Enzo. Jonathan never showed so Hopper ended up dropping the two girls off at school. Something he'd hardly done. Madison had been quiet throughout the whole weekend, something was obviously eating the girl alive but Aries was never one to pry. Especially at Madison, she wanted her sister to feel comfortable in her own privacy so she never dared to disrespect it.

Aries and Enzo haven't spoken since Steve's party, she wasn't sure if it was intentional on her end because she was nervous to talk to him.

"Aries Hopper" a stern voice called out startling Aries from her scrambled thought's.

Aries quickly turned around seeing who was calling her, the girls eyes landed on Mr.Connors standing by his door. She didn't have geometry class today so she was a bit confused on why she was being called.

The girl quickly walked towards the older man smiling, "hi Mr.Connors" Aries was tapping her foot impatiently. All she wanted to do was find Esme.

"Follow me really quick" he mumbled walking into the classroom.

Aries looked around before following after her teacher. Once she entered Mr.Connors closed the door, the girls eyes looked around and landed on Steve Harrington standing by Mr.Connors desk.

"Shit" the boy muttered

Aries quickly narrowed her eyes looking over at her teacher, "what's going on?" Aries asked confused. Why the hell was Steve in here?

Mr.Connors walked to his desk sitting down in his chair pulling out papers. He gestured for Aries to stand besides Steve. She hesitantly walked over side eyeing Steve making sure not to get too close to him.

Steve noticed side eyeing the girl right back before shuffling on his feet to move away from her. Mr.Connors smiled at the two noticing the small interaction.

"Aries can you tell me the difference between these two papers?" Mr.Connor placed Aries test sheet and Steves test sheet out in front of her.

There was a big difference, Aries had a big A+ in red marking while Steve's had a big F in red marking.

"He's shit at math and I'm not" Aries replied quickly. As soon as she heard the curse word escape her mouth she slapped her hands against her mouth shaking her head.

"Sorry" Aries muttered as Mr.Connors nodded with a smile.

"Oh really" Steve laughed pulling his test off the desk and tossing it aside. "I'm not shit at math" Steve protested turning to look at Aries.

Aries smiled grabbing her test from the desk holding it to Steve's face, "This is way different then that horrid F on your paper" Aries was flaunting the paper in Steve's face.

He scoffed snatching the paper from her hand throwing it right where his was.

"Hey! I worked hard for that!" Aries yelled trying to walk past him to get her paper. Steve kept blocking the girls way continuing to argue.

Mr.Connors watched entertained waiting for both of them to just be quiet.

"Yeah well so did I!" Steve shot back.

Aries laughed and Steve only glared at her watching her laugh. "Stop laughing! I worked hard on mine too!"

"Oh you did?! Isn't this your second time taking geometry?!" Aries was now clutching onto the edge of the desk trying her best to not throw it at Steve.

"Oh! Look who's counting!" Steve smiled.

Before any of them could argue even more Mr.Connors stood up clearing his throat. Both teens looked at the man still with rage filled in their eyes.

"Are you two done?"

Both teens stood quiet giving Mr.Connors the answer he was waiting for.

"Aries if it isn't much of a problem, I need you to tutor Steve for the rest of the semester so he can pass"

Aries stood frozen trying to gather her thoughts. Steve knew this was gonna happen the second Aries walked through the door.

Aries let out a light chuckle shaking her head, "Uh yeah that's gonna be a big problem for me, I'm sorry Mr.Connors I can't do it" Aries said as Steve rolled his eyes leaning against the desk.

"Well I wasn't giving you an option Aries, after that incident last month that Esme pulled you into, this is your only way of getting out of trouble without getting suspended" Mr.Connors said as Aries practically gasped.

Steve looked between the two confused, "wait? Aries, this Aries right here, this obnoxious girl, like the Aries standing right next to me. Did something so bad that she could get suspended?!" Steve asked confused.

Aries quickly glared at him shaking her head, "it was an accident that Esme and I apologized for! We paid the school back!" Aries exclaimed.

"You broke school property?! What did you do Aries?!" Steve was now panicked wanting to know what Aries Hopper did.

"None of you business!" Aries seethed.

"Okay! You guys can leave now, converse amongst yourselves and make plans for when you'll be doing your tutoring session. That is all that concerns me so get out my class... please" Mr.Connors ranted.

Aries was upset, yes it was Esme's fault for what happened but she was not letting Esme take all the blame. Without another word Aries walked out of the class room. Her happy mood was now gone. She was angry and annoyed, Enzo was not a thought on her mind.

The only thing she could think of was Steve Harrington and his annoying self that got her stuck into tutoring him for what seemed like an eternity.

"So are you gonna tell me what you and Esme did?" Steve asked following Aries down the hall. Aries ignored him picking up her pace not stopping once, she didn't want him to catch up.

"Hello! Aries! I'm talking" the boy continued. "Just tell me or I'll just have Ayriela tell me and your vow of silence will be for nothing" Steve was now ranting trying to get the girl to at least talk.

It wasn't working though. She walked towards the girls bathroom getting in quickly making sure to slam the door on Steve's face. Once she thought she was safe the door busted open and in came Steve.

"Get out of here you weirdo!" Aries yelled as he ignored her.

"Just tell me please, im dying to know" steve begged.

Aries was quick to walk into a stall and slam the door locking it. Steve rolled his eyes leaning against the door. "Can you go away, your hair is so ridiculously tall I can see it from over the stall" Aries muttered.

"Looks better then yours, what do you do to it every morning? Wet it and call it a day?" Steve shot back.

Aries kicked the door harshly making steve stumble.

"Ow!" The boy yelled kicking the door back.

Aries watched the door shake, she was no where near it so whatever he was trying to do didn't work. "You're such a perv get out of the girls bathroom!" Aries yelled.

The sound of the toilet flushing caught both of their attention. Aries froze looking down to see a pair of shoes in the next stall. She winced listening as someone unlocked the door walking out.

Steve nervously smiled seeing a random freshman looking at him like he was crazy. She kept her head turned towards him as she washed her hands. A look of pure disgust written all over her face. Aries quickly unlocked the door peeking her head out besides steve.

The girls eyes narrowed as Aries came out, she glanced between the two drying her hands. "Hi" Aries laughed awkwardly.

Steve scoffed nudging the girl signaling that wasn't helping. It definitely didn't help because the girl ran out the bathroom not saying a word to either of them.

Once the door shut another pair of footsteps echoed, the two looked up seeing Esme. She stopped seeing Steve and Aries standing there guilty.

She narrowed her eyes at the two slowly walking towards them. "What're you guys doing?" Esme asked cautiously.

"Aries was just telling me how you two almost got suspended" Steve grinned.

Esme panicked looking over at Aries and she quickly shook her head.

"Steve get out before I tell Nancy that you're creeping on girls in the girls bathroom" Esme smiled.

Steve scoffed looking at Aries then back at Esme. "Fine, I'll leave, not because you'd make up that horrible lie but because I want to, okay?" Steve said walking past Esme and out the door.

"You told him?!" Esme yelled once the door closed.

"No!" Aries whined

"Where you and Steve hooking up in the girls bathroom?!" More questions flooded Esme's mind.

"Ew! Gross, No!" Aries practically gagged at the thought.

Esme gagged looking around, she began to sniff the air like she'd find something out. "Oh thank god, no hookup smell" Esme sighed relived.

Aries looked over at her confused. Then she began to process what Esme was saying. "Ew! ESME, GROSS!"

ARIES and Esme held their trays as they began their walk to the usuals seats they sat in. The days been weird without Jonathan and both girls don't really know what to do with themselves.

"We should stop by the Byers after school" Esme said looking around.

Both girls knew one another was missing Jonathan, his presence was absent and it affected them far more then they'd thought. He was in school but never talked to the girls much anymore. If he even was in school they hardly knew because he never told them.

"Definitely, we should check in on Joyce too, I haven't seen her in a bit" Aries mumbled.

Esme nodded agreeing with the girl. Both girls stopped hearing carol moaning Steve's name rather loudly. They turned their heads noticing they were just walking past Steve , Nancy, Ayriela, Tommy, Dakota, and Carol. It was clear who carol was mocking which only made the situation worse.

"Carol shut up you're disgusting" Esme spat looking over at the girl. "No one wants to hear you moan Steve's name" Esme scoffed as carol laughed sending glared at Esme.

Steve's eyes refused to look at Aries and Aries eyes refused to look in Steve's direction.

"Did any of you see barb when you left?" Nancy asked changing the subject.

Esme quickly shook her head tilting it confused by the question. Nancy's eyes travelled to Aries waiting for her response.

"No I didn't, is everything okay?" Aries was now concerned.

Nancy shrugged dropping her spoon down on her tray. "She's not in school today so I'm a bit worried, do you know if Enzo saw her?" Nancy asked with desperation in her voice.

Aries quickly shook her head, "No he didn't, we left together and we didn't see her."

Nancy nodded sighing placing her head in her hands. Before anyone could say anything Enzo approached the group from behind aries placing his hand on her lower back.

"Hi guys" Enzo smiled. Aries eyes immediately widened feeling the familiar hand. Esme's eyes were bulging out of her head looking between Aries, Enzo's hand, and Enzo.

Steve looked up hearing a voice he knew all too well, he wasn't close with Enzo but the two constantly hang out because of Nancy and Ayriela.

Esme instantly slapped Enzo's hand and he pulled it back shocked. "Esme, what the hell? That hurt!" Enzo winced holding his hand.

The group of teens at the table looked in their direction confused. Dakota laughed quietly at Enzo's reaction.

Aries immediately looked between the two, "we should go, come on esme" Aries grabbed Esme's hand leaving a quick kiss on his cheek before rushing off.

Steve Harrington knew it was a mistake to even look in the direction. As soon as he saw what happened he tore his eyes away squirming his face in disgust. "Gross" the boy mumbled only loud enough for himself to hear.

"What the?! Aries what's going on?!" Esme yelled and aries only kept dragging her staying silent

"I'll come by later?!" Enzo called out.

Aries quickly nodded pushing Esme off towards their table. Once Aries accomplished pushing Esme down into her seat the girl immediately shot up.

"You definitely kissed him!" Esme yelled

Aries grew flustered looking around, "No, Esme shush, no I didn't" aries was whispering trying to quiet Esme down.

Esme's hands were on her hips as she stared at aries shocked. She was frozen, she wasn't even blinking. Aries narrowed her eyes staring right back at the girl. "Esme you're freaking me out!" Aries yelled slapping her hand numerous times on the table trying to get aries attention.

Not a word escaped Esme's mouth. Just a big frantic gasp, she reached her arms out then pulled them to her mouth covering it dramatically. "You didn't tell me! You told me everything but that! Aries how could you!" Esme dropped to her seat holding her heart.

Aries glared at the girl, one of Esme's talents was being extremely dramatic, and most times it was on purpose.

"Esme I didn't not tell you! It never happened okay we almost did and then he just kissed my cheek okay not a big deal! I barely remember that night sorry if I forgot some things!" Aries said leaning over the table trying to get Esme too look at her.

Esme sniffled standing up, "I have to think about this Aries... I... I can't trust you" Esme's voice cracked and Aries rolled her eyes at the girl.

Esme began to walk off making Aries groan, "Esme where the hell are you going?" Aries huffed sitting back down in her seat.

"To think!" Esme yelled back.

Aries nodded waiting for Esme's dramatic scene to end. She knew she wasn't gonna get far, Esme stopped walking slowly turning towards Aries.

Aries perked her head up smiling a bit, "I thought about it and... all is forgiven!" Esme smiled rushing back over to the table.

Aries smiled harder seeing Esme plop down across from her, "how was it? Did it look realistic? Like did you think I was actually heartbroken and about to end our friendship?" Esme asked reaching her hands out to hold Aries.

Aries chuckled nodding to her friend, "so convincing I was about to start crying" pure sarcasm was laced in her voice. But Esme didn't seem to catch it.

"Perfect! I've been working on it for a while so, y'know I'm pretty good" Esme said cockily looking down at her nails.

Okay here chapter four is finally! It was getting a bit too long so I decided to end the chapter here! Im sorry if this is getting boring and repetitive but please bare with me season one is so hard to write for! I haven't looked over anything yet so I'm sorry for the misspelling or bad grammar! I'm really tired right now but I wanted to get this out because it's been long overdue! Ty for reading!
