After finding out about the death of her father, Apolline ended up sobbing for hours. She couldn't stop. It was difficult for her to stop. Trying to process the death of her father was laborious for her. Apolline's brain replayed all the happy moments of her father making her cry again.

Once she woke up, Apolline was checked out by a doctor. She sometimes had trouble lifting things and moving her arm but endured it. The more pain she was in, the faster she could get better, and the sooner she could find her father's killers. That was the only thing that was pushing her.

Apolline stayed at the hospital for a week. A police officer came to her room to ask her several questions about what had happened that night. She answered every question with a lie. The police could not know the truth about what happened that night.

Apolline was sitting up in her hospital bed. She was watching The Great British Bake Off on her phone with her airpods in both ears. Matteo walks into the room with Marisol on his hip. She was playing with her stuffed black dragon (a gift from Robby). She drops her attention from her precious toy to her mother. Delighted squeals left her mouth at the sight of her. He walks over and grabs the phone from her hand and places Marisol in her lap.

While Apolline is looking at Marisol for the first time in weeks, Matteo surveys his cousin. On the outside, she may look fine but on the inside, she is broken. "You're not gonna do what I think you're gonna do, right?" He asked. Matteo knows Apolline like the back of his hand. Sometimes he can tell what she is thinking.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Apolline answered as Marisol touched her face with her small hands. Her cousin smacked the back of her head with his hand. She hisses in pain. "Não minta para mim."

She looks at her seven-month-old, replaying the past few months in her head. Apolline managed to keep Marisol out of the dangers that had come to her life several years ago. She has done a pretty good job so far. Apolline kept her other life from her normal one.

"Fine. I'm gonna do what you know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna find whoever the hell killed my father and make them pay for what they did." She states.

Matteo took his cousin back home after he signed the discharge papers. Before Apolline stepped foot in the house, she stood in front of the door for five minutes straight just remembering what happened the second she opened the door.

During those few minutes, she was in a trance-like state. Marisol brought her out of it. Now, Apolline was sitting in the living room with her daughter in the small playpen she and Robby had made for her. Matteo went out to get some takeout food.

While Marisol was preoccupied, Apolline was looking at the notes she took in an empty notebook. She wrote down everything that she remembered. From the faces down to the weapons that had been used. Some parts were kind of a blur to her but others were clear.

She wrote down the important details on several post-its and placed them behind the Starry Night night painting Matteo bought for her two years ago. Apolline obviously couldn't get any evidence the police had taken or what pictures they had taken since she was a teenager.

She did consider asking Valencia for help but that would raise suspicion. Apolline took out Santi for help as well. She refused to get an ounce of help from him. She took one final look at the post-its before covering them with the painting.

Apolline looked at Marisol at the time. Robby is going to be back in twenty minutes. She honestly didn't care that he joined Cobra Kai. All that karate drama was just so stupid in her opinion. She knows that there karate drama that happened decades ago and it was brought up again because of Cobra Kai. It was all just extremely dumb.

Apolline puts the painting back on the wall, covering what she has done so far. She walked over to her daughter and picked her up. "A mamãe vai tomar banho por alguns minutos. Não faça bagunça". Marisol just grins and tugs her hair. Apolline kisses her on her forehead before placing her back in the playpen.

She wakes up on the stairs to her and Robby's bedroom and walks into the attached bathroom. Apolline takes off her clothes and steps into the shower. Once she turns on the water, Apolline closes her eyes, letting the water rain down on her body. It is the first time she has had a proper shower.

She washed her body and hair. The warm water felt amazing on her skin. Apolline couldn't help but look at her chest and her abdomen. She saw the scarring. Apolline put one finger on her chest. It felt so odd but also normal. She has gotten scars over the past few years but nothing like this.

Apolline quickly finished showering. She stepped out of the bathroom, put her dark blue towel around her body, and walked to her closet. Apolline picked out a plain black t-shirt that was R̶o̶b̶b̶y̶'̶s̶ hers plus black sweatpants. She removed the towel to put on her clothes.

She walked out of the bedroom while drying her hair and walked down the stairs. Apolline dropped her towel when she saw Robby holding Marisol. She didn't pick up the tears leaking out of her eyes.

Matteo brought Japanese takeout from a restaurant he and Nerissa would go to. When he unlocked the door, he saw Apolline and Robby sleeping on the couch. Marisol (who was also sleeping) was on the floor with a blanket and her head on the pillow.

His cousin had her head on her boyfriend's chest and he had an arm around her waist. Apolline looked peaceful which was good considering the past couple of weeks she had.

Matteo walked over to the kitchen and quietly placed the takeout bag. He glanced at the time. It was 6:35. He debated whether to wake them up, send them to their bedroom, or leave them alone. After a few seconds, he decided to leave them alone.

He strolled to the living room and picked up Marisol. Matteo placed her in the crib in her room. He walked down the stairs. The second he walked downstairs, the doorbell rang. Matteo quickly ran to the door. The person who rang the doorbell was Valencia Rivera.

"Hola!" Valencia hugged Matteo. "Is Reyna up?" He told her that she was asleep when he came back. "Okay. You need to keep a close eye on her. No doubt she will try and find out who killed her father. I'm positive she will go down a rabbit hole. You have to make sure she doesn't do that at all." She tells him.

When her husband was murdered, Valencia searched for the killer and that wasn't a good thing at all. She found out something that she wished she had never found out. Her husband was a part of an organization. He lied to her for six years. Valencia doesn't want Apolone to find out whatever Izan was hiding from her.

"I know. I'm gonna try my best." Matteo said. He wants to protect his cousin from whatever secrets get uncovered.

Apolline woke up with the sun shining directly on her face. She turned her head up to see that Robby was still sleeping. He does look cute while he is sleeping. Apolline stretches before getting up on the couch. Robby does move slightly when she gets out.

She checked the time on the clock that was on the wall. It was six o'clock which meant Marisol was awake or was gonna be awake in a few minutes. Apolline walked up the stairs to her daughter's nursery. When she opened the door, Apolline was met with Marisol holding onto the bars of her crib with one arm and the other holding onto the stuffed black dragon.

"Oi, meu sol. Como você dormiu?" Marisol looked up at her mother and smiled at her. Apolline went over, picked Marisol up from the crib, and placed her on her hip. She dropped her toy causing her lips to wobble. Her mother quickly grabbed it and put it back in Marisol's hand.

Apolline did not want her crying this early in the morning. She took her out of the room and walked downstairs. The first thing Marisol has in the morning is formula milk. Apolline did not want to breastfeed and deal with that for months so formula was the second choice.

She placed Marisol on the empty couch next to the one occupied by Robby. Apolline quickly made the formula and put it in her daughter's mouth. Marisol held the bottle on her own and immediately started drinking it.

Apolline sat down next to her on the floor. She watched Marisol drink her bottle. Her eyes drifted to the crescent birthmark that was next to her right eye. Apolline has one on the left side of her neck. She moves her arm to caress her daughter's face. Marisol is one of the people she cares about. A person in her life that keeps her grounded.

She put her free arm on the couch and placed her chin on it. "I promise I'm gonna protect you from everything bad," Apolline whispered to Marisol. Her daughter turned to the side and stared at her mother before turning on her back again.

Apolline felt arms wrap around her waist. She knew it was Robby. "Come back to sleep." He whispered as he buried his head in the crook of her neck. "You know I can't." Apolline was on morning duty and Robby was on night duty.

Her boyfriend hums. "Go to our bedroom and go back to sleep." Robby unwraps his arms and goes upstairs to catch some more sleep.

While Robby was at the Cobra Kai dojo, Apolline was looking over the notes she had taken. Marisol was watching some cartoon she put on five minutes ago. Matteo opened the front door quietly. He saw his cousin standing in front of a wall filled with post-it notes.

He slammed the door causing Apolline to be startled. She turned around and froze once she caught the look on his face. Matteo took in a long sigh before speaking. "I'm not mad or disappointed. I'm just worried. This isn't something you should be doing. I mean you are a fucking teenager! You should be doing teenage things, not looking for a murderer."

Apolline crossed her arms. Matteo is right. She shouldn't be doing this at all. This is something with those who are higher up the food chain. The FBI should be looking for her father's killer but that would take too long. "I don't wanna wait around for answers. That will take so long. The way I will do it is much faster."

"By what? Threats? Causing harm? Injuring others? Do you even know what you will do once you catch your father's killer? Do you even have a plan?"

Apolline looks down on the ground. "No." She whispered. Matteo pinched the bridge of his nose. "If you are gonna continue this, you will need help. Tell me what you found and I'll see what I can find out and tell you tomorrow night." She looked up and pointed to the wall full of post-its. "You can read." Apolline left him alone in the living room.

Matteo looked at the wall. As he was taking in everything his cousin had written down, gears in his mind started turning. He was mentally coming up with who to talk to so he could get more information.
