Just another day working at Sonic Boom, and the Dawson twins were stood behind the counter either writing in their songbook or reading one of their favourite books, when their best friend walked into the store.
"Hey Addy and Ally! Guess who got a job at Cupcake City?" Trish announced to the twins as she held two cupcakes in her hand.
Ally sighed. "Thanks Trish, but there's no eating in the store-"
"But we do like cupcakes, gimme that!" Adelaide interrupted her sister after giving in herself and grabbed one of the cupcakes from Trish's hand with Ally following her action, taking a bite out of the frosted cupcakes.
"Yeah, they give us all the rejects. Those were the ones I dropped on the floor." Trish informed, making the twins groan in response before going to grab napkins to spit the food out.
Adelaide pouted. "Aw, I was really hungry as well."
Ally nodded along. "Yeah, well that's what we get for breaking the rules. Hey, do you want to go to a movie with us, Sunday?" The brown-haired girl suddenly paused upon seeing a unfamiliar old woman standing where Trish was before.
The woman grinned. "Oh, I'd love to go to the movies."
"Oh... um, great. Because you're exactly the person we were asking." Ally chuckled awkwardly at the woman.
"It's a date!" She smiled before turning around to walk away, leaving the other twin to call out after her. "Can't wait, lady we've never met!"
Adelaide and Ally turned around once again to see Trish make another appearance. "Where the heck did you go?" The first-born twin questioned their friend.
Trish sighed before informing. "I was on the phone. That was work. Apparently 'being there' is part of the job. Gotta go." She began to walk out of the store, passing by Lester Dawson โ the twins' father. "Hey, Mr Dawson!"
The man smiled at Trish before looking over at his daughters, the grin on his face widening as he gushed. "Guess who found thirty seven more cents?"
"Dad, stop taking money out of the mall fountain. Those are people's wishes, you know." Adelaide sighed, reminding the man.
"Well, my wish came true. I have thirty seven more cents." Lester said, going to leave when he was stopped by Ally.
"Oh, and speaking of wishes, Dad, is there any way we could put a piano upstairs in the practice room? The one we're using is older than the lady we're dating Sunday."
Their father furrowed his brows, looking between the two. His confused expression making Ally nod at him. "Long story."
Lester sighed. "Girls, I know you love music and Addy with your dancing, but the odds of making it in the music biz are like a bazillion to one. Come here." He frowned before they pulled each other into their signature trio handshake.
"Boom!"
Their father walked away, leaving the two girls to stand alone by the counter before going back to their books. However, that didn't last very long as they were interrupted by someone playing the drums behind them.
Ally was first to head over to where a tall redhead stood, watching his blonde-haired friend play the drums with corn dogs. Adelaide followed closely behind, reaching her fingers to her mouth before letting out a whistle to grab their attention.
"Did you not see the 'please do not play the drums' sign?" Ally was first to question as she gestured to the sign on the wall.
The blonde-haired boy smiled, holding up his corn dogs with his excuse. "It's okay. I'm an awesome drummer."
The boy turned to resume playing the drums with the corn dogs, only getting a few taps in before Adelaide snapped her fingers in his face. "Okay drummer boy, what you just said has nothing to do what she just said. And are those corn dogs?"
The boy hummed while nodding his head before taking a bite out of one of the corn dogs, making the twins grimace in disgust.
"Ew. Do you know how dirty these drums are and how unhealthy corn dogs are and there's no food allowed in here?" Ally sighed, throwing her arms out to the side.
"I'll handle this, Austin." The redhead brushed past him, stopping in front of the girls for his explanation. "Ladies! We are making a music video, I am the director, although, I prefer the term film maker." His phone was thrown up into the air before it dropped to the floor. "And cut!"
Austin, the blonde-haired boy, stood up from the drums to walk around the store. "We're gonna need a lot of instruments! I can play anything- piano, drums, guitar, harp." He gestured towards the different instruments before stopping at the trumpet display. "I can even play a trumpet through another trumpet."
He joined the two instruments together, blowing into the tube before playing a snippet of 'William Tell Overture'. Once he had finished, Adelaide nodded her head, actually quite impressed from what the boy just did, along with the customers who had applauded for him.
"Okay, okay. Well, I can play a harmonica through a sousaphone." Austin's friend declared, stepping towards the instrument to place the harmonica inside before blowing on the sousaphone. This caused the harmonica to fly out of the instrument and accidentally land into the old lady's mouth.
"Prepare to be heimliched." The redhead ran over to the old woman and began to demonstrate the Heimlich maneuver, the sound of the harmonica playing every time he pressed onto her chest.
"Here's the thing about the instrumentsโ" The blonde-haired boy began to say when Ally was quick to interrupt him at her theory. "You don't have any money."
"What if I pay you back when I get rich and famous?" Austin proposed, looking between the two girls.
Ally fake smiled before responding to the blonde with sarcasm. "Great! Just have your butler fly over on your private jet and drop off a sack of shiny gold coins."
"Really?" Austin grinned at that, oblivious to the sarcasm in her tone.
"No." The twins answered, turning around only to stop once again upon seeing the old lady's teeth fly onto the counter with the harmonica stuck in between.
"Got it! Whoo!" The redhead cheered in relief, as Adelaide picked up the teeth in disgust. The girl shared a chuckle with her twin before placing the teeth into Austin's hand while he was distracted.
The blonde finally turned his head around after feeling the teeth make contact with his hand, just in time to see Adelaide send him a sarcastic grin, saluting him before walking away.
Austin's eyes never left the back of her head when he dropped the teeth back onto the counter, shaking his hand in disgust.

"Remind me again, Addy. This is the melody, right?" Ally asked her sister who stood behind her, her eyes scanning the lyrics in Ally's songbook.
Whenever Ally caught someone with her songbook, her go-to response would always be to remind them to never touch her book, however, her twin was the only person that was allowed to be in contact with it.
"Yes, that's the melody." Adelaide nodded her head, turning her gaze to her sister who took a deep breath before starting to sing. "You don't know, know, know. My name, name, name."
"I'm gonna make, make, make you do a double takeโ" Adelaide joined in at the last part, smiling down at her sister. Her singing was quickly interrupted by her own scream when Austin was seen stood behind her. His sudden appearance causing Adelaide to stumble back slightly, with Austin catching her by the arm before she could fall to the floor.
"Don't scare me like that." Adelaide muttered under her breath, holding her hand to her heart as she caught her breath.
"How long have you been standing there?" Ally questioned the boy with shock filling her eyes.
Although Austin ignored her question and held up the harmonica instead. "I was wondering if I could get a discount on this harmonica. You know, because it's been in the old lady."
"Uh, this is our private practice room. Did you not see the 'Keep Out' sign?"
Ally's question was ignored once again as Austin pointed towards the piano with a grin. "Hey, I liked that song. But if you wanna make it really catchy, you've got to speed it up."
He stepped around the girls, taking a look at the lyrics in Ally's songbook to sing. "You don't know, know, know. My name, name, name. I'm gonna make, make, make it do a double takeโ" The boy finished off the verse by playing a tune on the harmonica.
Austin chuckled. "Cool, there's still some old lady spit in here." He blew into the instrument, which led to the leftover spit being sprayed onto the twins.
"Ew." The girls grimaced in disgust and wiped their faces before Adelaide began dragging him out of the room with Ally telling him. "Goodbye and in the future, please obey signs."
Adelaide huffed in annoyance at the sound of the harmonica being played again on the other side of the door and kicked it with her foot before walking back to the piano with Ally.

What happened the next day came to a surprise to the Dawson twins after receiving news about Austin creating a music video with the help of his best friend, Dez, which ended up going viral overnight.
The new overnight internet sensation reached up to two million hits on the video. Even though this may seem like a thing to be impressed by, neither Adelaide or Ally was happy about this new video, especially since he was singing the song, Double Take โ indicating he stole their song.
Adelaide, Ally and their best friend had arrived at Austin's house to confront him, knocking on his bedroom door.
Austin's best friend, Dez, opened the door. "Hey! It's Addy and Ally from the music store." He announced to the blonde-haired boy, walking away shortly after.
"Hi, I'm Trish. Big fan." Trish introduced herself to the new popstar, only to apologise and step away upon seeing the glances from her two best friends.
"Look, we're here to-" Ally went to say, glancing over Austin's shoulder to the redhead, his actions making her question. "Uh, what are you doing?"
Austin gestured towards Dez. "I'm making my own cologne. It's called 'Austin'." The redhead stood up to join him in echoing his name. "The secret ingredient is my sweat."
Dez walked around them to stop in between Ally and Trish. "Wanna try some?" He asked, not letting the girls respond before spraying some cologne in Trish's face who glared at him. "I don't like you."
Dez began walking back to the table. "Since Austin's famous, we figure people are gonna want some Austin merchandise." He said before the two boys started to model the different merchandise they have created which included, an Austin lunchbox, pillow, both chunky and smooth peanut butter, an Austin action figure that talks and last but not least, an Austin foam spitter.
"Why would anyone need a foam spit-" The De La Rosa girl went to question, a gasp leaving her lips as she felt the foam make contact with her.
Adelaide widened her eyes. "Bad idea, Red." She warned him just before Trish shocked him with her magic finger that she got from the Magic store โ her new job after getting fired from the Cupcake store.
No surprise, there.
Dez shrieked. "Wow! A magic shock finger. Me likey."
Ally shook her head before turning back to the blonde-haired boy, reminding him why they were there in the first place. "Look, we're not here to see your junky Austin junk. You stole our song. You heard us playing it at the music store."
"That's where the song came from? I thought I made it up! I guess that makes much more sense since I've never actually written a song before... I've tried but they're all terrible."
"Wow." Was all that Adelaide could say after Austin's explanation.
Ally sighed. "We wrote that song and you have to tell everybody the truth."
Austin looked at the younger twin as if she was insane. "I can't! Do you know how embarrassing that would be for me? Consider my feelings. Are you really that selfish?"
Adelaide narrowed her eyes slightly before being pulled back by Ally before she could tackle Austin. As you couldn't tell already, Adelaide was very protective over her sister.
Ally looked at Austin with a question. "So based on that ridiculous response, I'm guessing you're not really gonna do anything?"
"No, I wanna make this right." The Moon boy sighed before starting to make his way towards his closet, opening the door. "How about- a life size chocolate Austin!" He proposed, smiling brightly as Dez held out the model.
Adelaide took one look at the life-sized chocolate Austin and huffed in annoyance before following her sister out the door, calling out for their friend a moment later who wanted to know what flavour of chocolate it was.
โโโงโโโโโโโงโโ
While Ally and Trish went to the Helen's Show to disrupt Austin's interview, Adelaide stayed to watch the store and Austin's interview on the tv screen by the stairs.
Ally returned back to the store later that evening after her and Trish got kicked out of the studio, which Adelaide was quite amused about.
Speaking of Trish, the girl walked into the store wearing another work uniform that once again didn't surprise the girls. "Guess who got a job at the pet store?"
Adelaide laughed. "Seriously? You didn't even work at the magic shop two days. That's gotta be a new record."
"I plan on being better at this job- after this," She told the twins before turning around to face the direction of where a few people were sitting at, in the corner of the store. "Has anyone seen a giant snake about yea big?" At her announcement, the few customers stood up screaming in fear. "Oh, he's probably not poisonous. But there's a really good chance that he's totally poisonous."
And with that, they ran out of the store.
"Twins, I need your help." Austin pleaded as he walked into the store alongside Dez.
"Speaking of giant snakes." Ally remarked before walking away from the counter.
"I need a new song by tomorrow!" Austin told the brunette, following her past the counter.
Adelaide laughed at that. "Ha! Why don't you just write a song?"
"You know I can't. I've tried." The blonde sighed before grabbing a guitar and began to play a tune with terrible lyrics.
Dez grinned, clicking his fingers. "I wrote that last part." He piped up, holding his hand out for Trish to give him a high-five who simply ignored him.
Adelaide glanced at the redhead who now turned towards her with his hand still up high. With a sigh, she rolled her eyes before smacking her hand against Dez's, giving him a high-five.
"Okay, uh, how about this? 'I'm not helping you with your song, get out of our store!'" Ally sang, sending the blonde a sarcastic grin.
"That doesn't rhyme." Dez pointed out.
"There's the door!" Adelaide added for Ally as she pointed over to the doors.
Dez nodded. "See, that's better."
"I know you two are mad." Austin stopped Ally from going up the stairs any further. "I didn't mean to steal your song. Then I acted like a weasel. Not a cute cuddly weasel, but a jerky, no-credit-giving weasel. I'm sorry." Austin sighed, stopping Ally again as he continued. "Who am I kidding? My dad always said music was a waste of time. He said I had a bazillion to one chance of making it."
Adelaide and Ally frowned, sharing a look as they remembered what their father always said to them.
"That's exactly what our dad said to us."
"Do you know what my dad said to me? Dez, stop texting the dog!" The redhead imitated his father, making Adelaide furrow her brows at him through amusement.
"I guess my fifteen minutes of fame are over. I just wanted to prove my dad wrong." The blonde-haired boy sighed before starting to walk out of the store.
Ally looked over at Adelaide who nodded slightly, feeling bad for Austin as well. Before the blonde could leave the store, Ally called out. "Austin, wait! I'll help you write one more song."
Austin turned around with a bright grin. "You will? Yes!" He cheered, earning a soft smile from Adelaide. "Thank you, thank you!"
"But first you have to do something for me." Ally proposed.
Austin nodded in agreement. "Anything. Name it."
"Uh uh, I want a- a- I... I want a- a ham!" Ally stammered out, receiving confused looks from the others.
"Did you just say a ham?" Austin questioned.
"Apparently I did." Ally sighed, making Adelaide tilt her head. "But why?" She genuinely asked her sister, earning a shrug in response.
"Here, you can give her my ham if you want." Dez offered, pulling a whole ham out of his backpack.
"I have so many questions..." Adelaide trailed off, staring at the ham with furrowed brows. Sighing, she turned around to remind her sister. "Anyway, you better get up there before you lose any more time."
Rushing upstairs to write a new song for Austin, Adelaide was surprised to see Austin run back down a few minutes later at the idea to 'fun Ally up'. Dez and Trish had their own job to get ready for a duo dance while Adelaide stayed to help Austin with the lights and speakers.
"Um, what are you two doing?" Ally questioned with her brows furrowed after she finally came downstairs.
"Funning you up." Adelaide and Austin grinned as the music started up. "Oh yeah." The latter of the two grinned as he danced towards the twins, pulling Adelaide towards him before spinning her around, making her laugh.
"No thanksโ" Ally said, going to make her escape when Adelaide pulled her back, giving Austin the chance to blow the whistle, indicating for Dez and Trish to step out the practice room.
The twins and Austin watched as Dez and Trish stepped out of the room, slowly making their way down to them as they performed their dance.
"See? It's fun." Austin told Ally, gently pushing her towards the middle of them. The group all began to encourage the girl who gave in, starting to show off her terrible dance moves. "Whoo! There, I'm dancing!" Ally grinned, earning a strange look from her twin.
"Are you sure?"
"That was like the worst dancing I've ever seen!"
"Okay, fine!" Ally said, resuming to dance with the others joining her. It may have been terrible but this was the first time Adelaide had seen her twin let loose and have fun like this.
Ally smiled. "I-I-I think it worked. I feel fun. I feel like I could do anything. Watch, I'm gonna do a cartwheel." She gasped, retracting back before turning to the others. "I can't do a cartwheel."
"Well, don't waste the creativity! Come on!" The blonde-haired boy said, pulling Ally towards the piano.
"Let's write a song."
โโโงโโโโโโโงโโ
Even though it took all night, writing a new song was a success for Austin and Ally. The popstar had invited his new group of friends to be there at the Helen Show with him for support.
Although it turned out to be a disaster in the end as Ally embarrassed herself on live-television from her stage fright after Austin putting her in the spotlight โ not expecting her to trash the majority of the set and end up with a drum on her head.
Adelaide was obviously going to hit Austin for that, but since it was an accident and he was only trying to help her, she stopped herself from doing so.
Moving on to Sunday, the Dawson twins returned to the store after their 'date' with the old lady as Trish mentioned. "How was your date with that old lady?"
"She slept through the whole movie." Adelaide was first to answer as they stopped in front of the practice room.
"We had to explain the whole thing to her on the bus ride home." Ally continued before they opened the door, their eyes wide open in shock after seeing the new changes to the practice room.
"Our practice room? What is all this stuff? What are you guys doing here? Pickles!" Ally yelled the last part, running over to her favourite food.
Adelaide grinned like a 5 year old. "Strawberries! Oh my god!" She jumped up and down, running towards the packets of strawberries with her mouth agape, earning a soft smile from Austin.
"But look at that piano!" Ally pointed out as she rushed towards the new instrument.
Austin and Adelaide approached the girl by the piano, the latter chewing on a strawberry as Austin began to explain. "I used the money I got from being on the Helen Show to pay for all this."
Ally smiled. "I can't believe you did this. Thank you."
"I figured we'd be spending a lot of time in here, so we should make it as comfortable as possible."
"Uh- we?" Ally furrowed her brows in question, sharing a confused look with her twin who just shrugged, holding another strawberry in her mouth.
"I want you to be my partner."
"Spend more time with you?" Adelaide playfully questioned after swallowing the strawberry, earning a playful glare from the blonde.
"You're a songwriter with stage fright, I'm a singer who loves being on stage. We're a perfect match. What do you say?" Austin proposed, looking at Ally with a grin.
"We're partners." Ally nodded after finally accept his proposal, the two doing an awkward hug or handshake.
"Guess who got a job as Austin's manager?" Trish announced, approaching the three.
Austin chuckled, gesturing to the girl. "She has so much work experience, her resume was about eight pages."
"You know for some reason, I see this job sticking for you." Adelaide hummed, earning a smile from Trish who turned towards Ally. "Oh, I promised the fans you'd put up the songs on the website every Friday. Oh, and also, I don't work Fridays or any other week day."
"We have to write a new song every week?" Ally questioned in shock, watching as Trish walked away, being stopped by Dez.
"Trish, I need 10,000 monkeys and a big wedding cake."
"You can have a turtle and a donut." The curly-haired girl told him, with Dez pulling something out of the box in response, holding up that exact thing in his hand. "I already have that."
"Again, I have many questions." Adelaide mumbled, going to walk towards the strawberries when Austin stopped her.
"Hey!" He called out, approaching the girl who raised a brow.
"What do you want?" Adelaide asked, looking at the blonde in amusement. "Don't you dare take my strawberries! I was here first!"
"I got them for you." Austin reminded, his lips tugging up into a smile.
Adelaide nodded. "Exactly. You got them for me, and me only." She told him, earning a chuckle from the blonde. "If you are going to be here from now on, you should know that anything strawberry related that I like, I do not share with anyone."
"I got it, don't worry." Austin chuckled, raising his hands in the air in defence. "Anyway, that's not why I'm here." He changed the subject, pulling something out from behind his back to reveal ballet shoes.
"What are those for?"
"These are for you." Austin said, handing the shoes to the girl who smiled, although confused as she wanted to know what the gift was for and why. "Ally told me that you dance and how amazing you are at the different styles. So..."
"You want me to teach you a few things?" The brunette guessed.
Austin nodded before proposing. "I want you to be my choreographer. I may be a dancer myself but I want you to help me learn more dance moves and styles. So, what do you say?"
"Again I say, spend more time with you?" The brown-haired girl playfully questioned, earning an offended look from the blonde. Adelaide laughed at him. "I'm kidding. Sure, why not. I'd love to."
Austin cheered happily at her response, doing a double high-five with the girl who laughed once again before turning back to the strawberries, leaving Austin to check the latest updates on his phone.
The blonde-haired boy frowned. "Aw man, my video just got bumped to number two."
"What's number one?" Ally asked.
Austin chuckled in response before going to show her the video. "You on the Helen Show. Hey, look, they're even showing the part where you threw up on Helen. You're famous, thanks to me!"
Adelaide approached the two, sharing a look with her sister who began to say. "Thanks to you. Well, let me show you something." The twins pulled Austin towards the foam spitter before turning it on.
Adelaide laughed watching as Austin was getting sprayed, reaching his hands in front of him before Dez came along, gasping in excitement as he jumped in front of his friend, getting sprayed by the foam as well.
