CHAPTER TWENTY SIX, unauthorised mission

โ”€โ”€โ”€ ๏ฝฅ ๏ฝก๏พŸโ˜†: *.โ˜ฝ .* :โ˜†๏พŸ. โ”€โ”€โ”€

The bionic team had emerged from the hydraloop with bags in their hands, arriving back at the academy after completing another mission. And this time, they had brought Sebastian along who was improving well in his training, making him one of the best students at the academy. Chase looked back at the group with a smile as he praised. "Nice work, guys. That mission was a total success."

"Maybe for you." Adam disagreed with Chase's point, scrunching up his nose while continuing to tell him. "Nothing caught on fire or blew up. To me: colossal failure."

Adam turned to Leo who smiled at him through his amusement before he was quick to suggest to the taller brunette. "Well, good news, you've got heat vision and a whole afternoon ahead of you. Go make something happen."

Emilia hovered her hand over her mouth as she giggled at Adam's facial expression before Leo walked away, just as Bob approached his mentor, holding a boogie board. "Hey Adam, check it out. While you were gone, I got to boogie board with the dolphins."

"I love dolphins. They're adorable." The Hunter banshee hummed, earning a soft smile from Chase, seeing how adorable her facial expression was.

Adam nodded with a grin, grabbing the boogie board off him to show. "Bob, those weren't dolphins. These are clearly the bites of an angry catfish."

"Wow." Bob gaped at Adam who corrected him, grinning almost in shock as he asked. "Is there anything you don't know?"

They watched as Bob took his boogie board back and walk away from the team, before Bree turned to Sebastian in thought. "I don't think we should let those two play together anymore."

"Uh-uh." Sebastian agreed before heading over to Chase, Emilia and Adam at the cyberdesk, directing his next words at the former person as he spoke. "Hey Chase, on the next mission, do you think I might actually be able to do something?"

Chase looked up at Sebastian. "Well you did get to do something." He nodded, although Emilia could already guess what his next words would be as Chase continued. "You watched me be an amazing mission leader. Most people would pay to see that."

Bree sent him a strange look, her brows furrowed with her quick remark. "And then demand a refund."

Sebastian glanced at the brunette before turning his attention back to Chase, waving his arms around to express more what he was trying to point out. "I'm just saying, the whole purpose for me going on the mission was to get some hands-on-training."

"And you did." Chase still hadn't acknowledged what Sebastian was telling him. "You handed me my flashlight and my lip balm. Thank you."

"Aye, aye, aye." Emilia muttered, facepalming at her boyfriend's actions.

Sebastian huffed out a breath, looking at Chase with irritation. "But, I'm the best student here. I've been acing all of my training exercises. Without practice how am I ever gonna be mission leader?"

Chase grinned up at him, leaning his chin on his hand, just past his knuckles. "Oh, that's just it, you won't." He got up to his feet, gesturing to himself as he reminded the boy. "Cause I'm mission leader."

Emilia sighed, already standing in between them as she placed her hands on their heads, pushing them away from each other as she scolded. "Ah, that's enough. No fighting while I'm around."

Adam sighed, going over to stand by his brother, before he placed his hand on his shoulder and made his point. "Yeah, dude, you can't be mission leader, too, because then I would have to make fun of both of you, and there just aren't enough hours in the day. I need some me-time."

Once Adam walked away, Bree approached Chase with a scoff. "Hey, Chase, stop being such a control freak, okay? Sebastian seems perfectly capable."

Sebastian smiled before nudging Bree. "Oh, thanks."

"My pleasure." Bree said, smiling flirtatiously at him as the two giggled at each other.

Seeing the two flirt again, Chase's brows twitched in annoyance before he interrupted them with a groan. "Okay, our next mission, stopping that."

"Hey, look!" They all turned to the huge window to see Bob. "I'm riding an angry catfish!"

Adam looked out the window, gaping at Bob with a smile. "Whoa, look at him go!" His face slowly twitched into a worried expression as he informed the others. "Yeah, that is not a catfish."

"Bob!" They all yelled his name, Emilia being the first one to start running out the room with the others following to save the short blonde.

โ”€โ”€โ”€ ๏ฝฅ ๏ฝก๏พŸโ˜†: *.โ˜ฝ .* :โ˜†๏พŸ. โ”€โ”€โ”€

Emilia and Donald walked into the common area with Bree beside them, as she clapped her hands with a smile. "Look, I got to admit, Mr Davenport and Emilia, you guys did a really good job designing this place."

"This academy is my greatest achievement." The man grinned, looking around the room. "Of all the things I built, this is the thing I'm most proud of."

The three turned to the hydraloop as the doors opened, not expecting to see Perry step out with her usual smile. "Morning, Don. Morning, girls."

Emilia shrieked as Donald turned to the girls with his eyes widened in panic. "The island is contaminated. Get everyone to the lifeboats. We can blow it up. I wasn't that attached to it anyways."

After sending the man a strange look, they looked back towards Perry as Bree gestured to the transport, with her brows furrowed. "How did you get on our hydraloop?"

"I dated your security guard for three weeks to gain his trust. When that didn't work, I knocked him out and stole his keys." Perry explained.

Donald followed the woman, narrowing his eyes at her as he questioned. "How much ocean do we have to put between us to get away from you?"

Perry smiled. "Ain't enough water in the world. My webbed toes double as flippers. When I spread them out, they look like baby pterodactyls."

"Okay." Emilia simply nodded, the expression on her face showing pure annoyance. "Why are you here?"

"I retired." Perry practically sighed, waving her hands around as she expressed. "The school just wasn't the same without my favourite freaks to torment. I tried, but I couldn't hate the new kids as much as I hate you guys."

The two brunettes smiled sarcastically at Perry who then turned around, facing Donald with a grin. "Anywho, a little birdie told me your robot school is looking for an administrator."

"Yeah, we're not." Donald disagreed, before he was quick to deadpan at the woman. "But tell you what, leave your resume and we'll call you if we lose our minds."

"Oh, how about a gardener?"

"No."

"Short order cook?"

"No."

"Unlicensed psychotherapist?"

"No!"

Perry huffed out a breath when she realised the man wasn't giving in. She turned slightly to look at the three of them with a sigh. "Look, I'm bored and I want to get back in the game. Just tell me what you need. I could be your barber. Nobody likes pretty girls with long hair."

Emilia and Bree pulled a look of annoyance, and was quick to pull Perry away from pretending to cut their hair before Bree told her. "Okay. The only thing we need is a security guard to keep people like you out."

"Oh Bree." Emilia sighed, mumbling under her breath when she noticed Bree's mistake when Perry gasped in realisation.

She pumped up her fist, stepping past the girls with a gasp. "Yes! I could be your head of security. I've been a warden, a guard, any position in prison, I've held it, including inmate."

"Sorry, cell block Sally, we're not hiring." Emilia informed as Donald approached Perry, turning her to the hydraloop and shoved her inside before hearing her yell.

"But you need me!"

The three of them sighed in relief as the doors closed and the hydraloop set off, only for their facial expressions to change at the sound of something ripping to see Perry's shirt stuck in between the doors. Bree winced, pointing at the hydraloop, concluding her observation. "Her shirt got stuck."

Donald raised his hands in the air, grimacing in disgust. "Yeah, that's the mainland's problem now."

โ”€โ”€โ”€ ๏ฝฅ ๏ฝก๏พŸโ˜†: *.โ˜ฝ .* :โ˜†๏พŸ. โ”€โ”€โ”€

In the training area, all the mentors were in their groups training their students. Emilia and Bree's group were on a break as Emilia found herself standing with her water bottle as she watched Donald try to train the students in front of him, letting out giggles as she watched him fall to the floor using the clear shield to protect him.

"Emilia Lily Hunter! Not funny." Donald scolded the brunette as he approached, still catching his breath.

Emilia waved at him, trying to apologise but it just came out as a coughing fit after just swallowing her water, soon feeling Chase pull her back up, patting her back in the process. "Are you okay?"

Emilia nodded in reassurance, sending him a quick smile before they turned to Donald who huffed. "This is ridiculous. There are too many kids here for me to train them all at the same time. And I don't want a single student to be denied the Donald Davenport experience."

The teens mentally rolled their eyes at the man, with Bree being the first one to remind him. "You mean the Bionic Academy experience."

Donald shook his head, pointing at the brunette to correct. "No, you mean the Bionic Academy experience."

Chase held his hand out, quick to come up with a suggestion. "Hey, maybe I can design a new virtual training simulator. And each group can take turns using it."

Hearing his words, Sebastian was quick to step in, knowing this would annoy Chase. "Or even better. I can design one that will allow every student to train at the same time."

Chase laughed at his suggestion, the sound more coming out as a scoff. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. If anyone's gonna design this thing, it's gonna be me."

"Control freak." Bree sang, earning a pointed look from the banshee.

Donald approached the two boys, standing in the middle of them as he suggested. "How about this, you guys design it together. After all, two minds are better than one. Unless of course, it's this mind."

Emilia smiled sarcastically at the man, his big ego showing once again. "And after that, maybe you can build something that'll shrink his ego."

Bree agreed with the girl as Donald turned to face the banshee with a light scoff. "Emilia, there's no machine in the world that could do that. But, if anybody could build it, it'd be me."

โ”€โ”€โ”€ ๏ฝฅ ๏ฝก๏พŸโ˜†: *.โ˜ฝ .* :โ˜†๏พŸ. โ”€โ”€โ”€

Emilia returned to the common area with Donald and Bree, the two girls sat down with new tablets in their hands, as Donald wanted to test them out to see if everything was working.

Donald nodded. "Okay, let's test our new video conferencing system. I'll try and call you two."

The girls nodded at him, moving their eyes down to the tablet when they assumed Donald had started up the video conferencing system only to see Perry who grinned at them. "You rang?"

A look of what looked like terror crossed over the girls' faces as they stared at the screen, looking back at Donald with a yell. "Turn it off! Turn it off!"

Donald gritted his teeth, glaring at the screen as he questioned. "How did you break into my secure line?"

The video call ended, soon followed by Perry's voice as the woman popped out from behind one of the pillars, wearing a helmet. "Better question is, how did I get in your equipment room to steal this?"

"Give me that." Donald seethed, snatching the helmet off the woman as the girls approached.

Perry put her arm behind her back. "Or into your bedroom to steal this." She pulled out one of Donald's shirts and hung it out in front of him, the man immediately snatching it away.

"That is island wear."

Perry hummed, smiling smugly at the man. "Still think you don't need a head of security?"

Donald shook his head, still not giving in. "No. A couple more tweaks and I'll have this place locked down tight. And then, we will never see you again." He turned his head to look at the two girls, his arm held out to gesture towards the woman as he questioned. "Emilia, Bree, any parting words?"

Bree nodded. "Yes. Get out."

Emilia smirked. "Go before I scream."

Donald hummed, before he started to push Perry towards the hydraloop who stopped, continuing her plead to stay. "But you need me."

"No, we don't." Donald disagreed, pushing her in to the hydraloop, ignoring her shouts as the doors shut behind her. Sighing in relief, the three of them turned back to the hydraloop doors once again after hearing a tearing noise to see Perry's skirt stuck in between the doors. "Really? She needs to start wearing tighter clothes."

Upon realising what he said, the man shared a look with the girls before the three of them spoke in sync. "No, she doesn't."

โ”€โ”€โ”€ ๏ฝฅ ๏ฝก๏พŸโ˜†: *.โ˜ฝ .* :โ˜†๏พŸ. โ”€โ”€โ”€

Unfortunately, Perry had managed to escape the hydraloop again, even with the man resetting the security settings. Donald, Bree and Emilia found the woman outside, hanging on a rope above the ocean with the remote in her hand that was supposed to be used to control the security settings.

Donald and Emilia were talking in the common area when their attention was brought to three familiar people stepping out of the hydraloop, Leo, Bob and Spin, with the two younger ones drenched in mud.

"Where were you guys?" Donald was the first one to question, concerned about the state Spin and Bob were in, and of course the fact they had left the island without his permission.

"On a mission." Bob didn't hesitate to inform, not realising the outcome to that answer as Donald and Emilia stood there in shock.

"What?!" Donald yelled.

Bob raised his hands slightly, quick to reassure them. "Don't worry. We didn't help anyone." But his choice of words didn't really do the job.

Donald sighed, turning to Leo with a scold. "Leo, how could you take them on a mission?"

Leo pulled a face, as if he was being accused of something he didn't do, leading for Spin to react, quick to admit to the two leaders. "No, he didn't take us, he saved us. It's all my fault. If it wasn't for Leo, we wouldn't be standing here right now."

Emilia looked at Leo with a small smile. "Is that true?"

Leo smiled smugly. "Well, I don't wanna brag, but yes, I was there. And I was awesome." He looked away, holding his hands to his hips to gesture a superhero pose, earning a strange look from his best friend.

Donald turned to the two younger boys. "You two head over to the capsule dorms to get cleaned up. We'll discuss this later."

The two boys turned around, getting back onto the hydraloop with the doors shutting behind them. Once they were gone, Donald placed his hand on Leo's back, guiding him away as he complimented. "Wow, Leo. It sounds like you really stepped up and acted like a true bionic hero."

Emilia nodded. "I agree. I think it's time we bump you up a colour."

Leo looked between Donald and Emilia with a look of disbelief. "Really?"

The two nodded at him, before the sound of the hydraloop coming back grabbed their attention and drawed them away from the conversation as they saw Bob step out the hydraloop.

Confused, Donald threw his arm out in the air to remind him. "Bob, I thought I told you to go back to the dorms."

Bob nodded. "You might have told Bob..." He trailed off, pressing his fingers to the back of his neck before finishing off. "But, you didn't tell me."

The three widened their eyes at Perry's presence once again, only it was Leo who had seen her for the first time, earning a shriek from the boy as he pointed over to the woman. "Who let that in here? Stay away, evil woman!"

Donald merely rolled his eyes, stepping past the boy to approach Perry. "Where did you get that cyber-cloak?"

"From your equipment room, which by the way, is still not secure. You know, if I was your head of security, I could have stopped those two runts from sneaking out." Perry explained before starting to pull something out from behind her back. "And no one would have to know that you wear these."

Emilia and Leo cringed in disgust at the sight of the zebra striped leggings. "Give me those!" The man seethed, snatching the bottoms from Perry before letting out a sigh. "You're not gonna stop until I give you this job, are you?"

Perry smiled, shaking her head. "Nope, and I've got nothing but time. The average lifespan of a Perry is 112 years. And I'm one of the healthy ones."

Donald and Emilia shared a look, in thought for a moment before finally giving in as they turned back to Perry with Donald being the one to tell her, his face showing pure irritation already as he spoke. "Okay, fine. You win. You're hired."

Perry cheered, doing a little dance move when Leo walked past them, completely frozen after Donald told Perry the news. Emilia pinched her brows together in confusion, being the first one to question. "Leo, where are you going?"

"To bury myself in quicksand."

โ”€โ”€โ”€ ๏ฝฅ ๏ฝก๏พŸโ˜†: *.โ˜ฝ .* :โ˜†๏พŸ. โ”€โ”€โ”€

Back in the training area, Chase and Sebastian had everyone gathered around them to show off their new invention. Chase made his way to the middle of the room with Sebastian beside him, the former going to announce. "Ladies and gentlemen, Chase Davenport and Sebastian... last name to be determined. Proudly present to you the future of bionic education: the Bionic Training Simulator."

All the students including the mentors clapped for them before they stopped, allowing Chase to continue. "Now to demonstrate, we'll need a volunteer."

Nobody in the room raised their hands, silence filling the room for a moment before Sebastian gestured towards the leader of the academy and volunteered him. "How about Mr Davenport? I mean, he is the reason we're all here."

The Davenport man looked at Sebastian, his lips slowly tugging up into a smirk as he stepped towards the two boys. "What, me be the centre of attention? I couldn't."

Emilia shook her head at the man who chuckled to himself, hopping onto the platform in the middle of the room. Sebastian smiled, gesturing to the machine as he instructed. "Go ahead and power up the mainframe."

"Alrighty." Donald nodded, turning around but while that was happening, Emilia felt her eyes glowing blue, her eyes instantly turning to the boys' invention and was quick to activate her super speed, moving towards Donald to push him out the way with a yell. "Davenport, no!"

She managed to push him out the way just after he pressed the button on the machine, making Emilia take his place and was blasted across the room, her back slamming against the wall from the floor, groaning in pain.

"Emilia!" Bree and Chase yelled, running towards the girl with the others following behind them, including Donald.

"Em, are you alright?" Leo panicked, crouched down beside the girl along with the mentors.

"I think so." Emilia reassured, holding onto her chest in pain.

Before Donald could ask what Emilia sensed that made her push him out the way, Chase sighed to himself, holding onto Emilia's hand with a look of confusion on his face. "I don't get it. Our design was flawless."

"No, come on. Let's get her to the medic." Donald instructed, earning a nod from Bree before they helped the banshee off the ground.

Sebastian nodded. "Good idea. Go!"

The bionic team rushed Emilia out of the room to get her to the medic, not noticing they had left Sebastian alone in the training area. He looked ahead with an eerie smirk, seeing his plan had worked. His target was Donald, however he also wanted to test out Emilia's Protector side, so he could figure out what to do with the banshee to make sure she doesn't stop him from completing his mission.

To take away their father, just they like had took away Krane, his father.
