Haley and Peyton were together in the front, with the latter driving, as they moved their heads and danced along to the music that echoed from the stereo of the car. Riley was currently situated in the back, humming along as she didn't want to wake Brooke up, who had passed out not long ago, laying her head on Riley's lap.

"We need some music." Peyton said, and took her eyes off the road momentarily so she could reach behind her and grab a CD.

Haley widened her eyes, noticing the car starting to swerve, making her shout out. "Peyton!" At the same time, Haley instantly grabbed the wheel in order to bring the car back onto the road. Peyton quickly turned her head back and put her hands on the wheel, managing to regain control of the car before it stopped.

"Sorry..." Peyton quietly apologised. While, in the back of the car, Brooke sat up from laying on her sister after being woken up, and looked around in confusion.

"Where the hell are we?" Brooke asked.

"Miles from normal." As Haley answered, Brooke looked over after hearing her voice. Her eyebrows pinched together as she stared at the brunette in surprise, but also confused on why she was there.

Riley chuckled softly, watching as her twin slowly turned her head to look at Peyton. She gestured over to Haley, while asking her friend. "What is she doing here?"

"What do you mean?" Riley asked, feigning a look of confusion before laughing slightly. "You're the one that invited her."

Brooke stayed quiet, looking even more confused at her words, before Peyton put the stereo back on as the music blasted. "Ow!" Brooke groaned in pain at the volume and quickly covered her ears, leaning back in the car.

Once the song had ended, Haley and Peyton were laughing as they continued to enjoy themselves while Riley smiled, comforting her annoyed sister in the back.

"Nice, what's next?" Haley asked.

"Uh, you pick." Peyton allowed the girl to choose, making the twins look at their friend with their brows furrowed in question. Normally when they were in the car, Peyton never let anyone but her touch the stereo, so it was a surprise to the both of them when they saw this.

"Alright." Haley said, before putting her hand on the stereo to change the music. As they continued down the road, Peyton soon slowly pulled the car to a stop.

Riley and Brooke leaned forward to look closer as the girls stared ahead, all looking confused to see Nathan, Lucas and Brayden standing together in the middle of the road.

"Could this night get any freakier?" Peyton asked.

"Nathan with Lucas..." Haley trailed off.

"And Brayden's still standing?" Riley questioned, since she was used to the boy wearing a tired and fed up expression on his face whenever Nathan and Lucas were fighting.

From the outside of the car, Nathan, Brayden and Lucas looked just as confused when they saw the girls. "Haley with Peyton and Brooke?" The latter asked. Even though Haley was friends with Riley, he was still confused on why she was hanging out with Peyton and Brooke.

"What the hell is going on?"

βˆ˜β‚Šβœ§β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€βœ§β‚Šβˆ˜

Twelve hours earlier, outside of the Tree Hill high school, Riley walked along the path that led to the school building, when she caught Lucas and Haley on the way. "Hey, strangers." She called, as she approached her best friends.

"Hmm. No stranger than you." Lucas responded first, causing Riley to hum at his words. "Did you get my message last night?"

"No. I was at the library late. Midterms." The girl explained.

Haley looked over at her best friend with a raised brow. "Yours or Nathan's?" She asked, wearing a teasing grin.

Riley gave the brunette a look as she tried to hide her smile. "Both, actually." She answered, with a tilt of her head.

"Well, good luck with that."

Sensing the tone through his words, Riley turned around and stood in front of Lucas, stopping him from walking any further. "Luke." The blonde let out a sigh, before looking up at him. "You're cool with this, right? I mean, last week, when you said you didn't trust me..."

Her words trailed off as Lucas nodded. "I know. I didn't mean that. All right? I meant I don't trust Nathan." He explained, and Riley nodded slightly before they turned their heads at the sound of a new voice.

"Hey, you got a second?" Peyton had approached the trio, while looking at Lucas.

"Speaking of..." Haley said, and tugged on Riley's arm before they excused themselves and left the two blondes alone to talk.

"Riley!" At the sound of the voice that Riley could recognise instantly, the girls turned around to see Nathan walking up to them.

"And there I go again." Haley chuckled slightly as she pulled her arm away from Riley's. "I'll come and find you later, okay?" The blonde nodded at her, watching as she walked away before Nathan stood in front of her.

"Hey!"

"Coming to the game tonight?" The raven-haired boy asked, which he received a strange look from his friend.

"Have you hit your head recently?" The Davis girl wondered, as she looked at the boy with furrowed brows. "I mean..." She trailed off, with a smile of amusement. "I don't know if you remember, but I am the co-captain of the cheerleaders."

Nathan shook his head and laughed. "Yeah, yeah, I remember. But, you can still be sick or injured, and might not make it to the game." He spoke in a softer tone, as he gave her an example from the many reasons why you could miss the game.

"Well, don't worry, I'm fine." Riley reassured him with a soft grin. "I mean, I'm walking great, and I haven't fell down today, so far." She said it like it was an achievement for her.

"Ah, congratulations." Nathan played along as he normally did when they joked about how clumsy she was, before returning to the previous subject of conversation. "Well, I'm glad you're coming to the game, and hopefully we can beat the crap out of the Pickerington Hicks again, like we always do." Riley shook her head, and Nathan looked at her with a soft smile. "I'll look out for you at the sidelines."

βˆ˜β‚Šβœ§β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€βœ§β‚Šβˆ˜

After school, Riley and Brooke decided to go and see Peyton at her house. After she snapped at Brooke at cheer practice last week, the two girls had barely spoken to each other, while Riley still kept in touch with the Sawyer girl to make sure she was okay.

Brooke knocked on the wall right next to Peyton's bedroom door, making the blonde look over just before Brooke waved the pair of white underwear she held in her hand, in the doorway, and poked her head out. "Safe yet? No hostile tone, no bitter complaints, no yelling at your best friend because you broke up with your jerk of a boyfriend?" She asked, now standing in the girl's bedroom, when Peyton smiled.

"Is that a smile, I see?" Riley looked at the blonde with a teasing grin, as she stood next to her sister who noticed it too.

"All right. I was a mess last week. I'm sorry." The Sawyer girl apologised, as she sat up. Riley took a seat at the bottom of the bed, and winked at the blonde when Brooke wasn't looking.

"You don't have to apologise, P. Sawyer." The girl spoke in a softer tone. Since she knew the actual reason why Peyton was upset last week, Peyton definitely had a right to act like that. The blonde duo smiled at each other before looking over at Brooke who did some cheer moves in front of the webcam, then turned around to face them.

"Apology accepted! A-P-O-L-O-G...Y?" The Davis girl cheered. "Because I love you. Get your skinny ass up and let's go beat the Pirates." She told her, and flashed her underwear in front of the girl's webcam.

Riley shook her head, giving her sister an amused look. "Seriously, Brooke?" She chuckled softly as the girl left the webcam's view.

"What are you doing?" Peyton asked.

"What? It's a webcam." Brooke said, walking over to grab Peyton's pom poms. "It's what they're for. Come on." She stood in front of her friend, before feigning a sigh. "Overweight." She threw her pom poms at the blonde and smirked. "Now we're even."

"You're dead!" Peyton got up from her bed before chasing Brooke out of the room. Riley shook her head with a smile before following them out the room once she heard Brooke shouting her name through a cry of help.

When they finally got to the away game, the guys were doing their warmups on the court, while the cheerleaders stood on the sidelines and finished off their stretching.

Peyton and Brooke headed over to Riley who was waiting for them, and was close enough that she managed to hear the start of their conversation once Brooke spotted Lucas. "Oh, see, Lucas looks even hotter in blue. You should totally hook up with him."

Peyton chuckled. "Stop it."

"What?" Brooke smiled. "At the very least you're due for a little rebound action unless you're still into Nathan."

"I'm not." Peyton stated, just as they approached where Riley was standing and looked over at her with a small smile.

"All right." Brooke nodded, while staring at Lucas on the court. "Since you're my pal, you can have a courtesy hold on Lucas for the weekend, but after that, he's fair game."

"He's already fair game, thanks." Peyton replied, before Brooke finally turned to look at her sister, reminding herself of what she wanted to ask her ever since she found out.

"And you!" Brooke whacked Riley in the stomach with her pom pom, making her flinch slightly and look at her sister confused. "How come you didn't tell me you were tutoring Nathan? I'm your twin! You're supposed to tell me everything."

"I'm... sorry?" Her response came out more like a question, not knowing what to tell her.

Brooke arched a brow at her. "And you also hang out with Lucas. Right..." She trailed off, nodding her head. "We're supposed to believe that you're just friends with the two of them?"

Riley parted her lips slightly, as she looked at her sister like she was crazy. "My dear sister... you do know that girls and boys can be friends with each other without the possibility of them having sex, right?" She then smirked, and held her hand out as she gestured towards her. "Kinda like you and Tim in a way."

Riley watched as the brunette pulled a face at her comment, and Peyton snickered. She turned her head around to face the court, letting out a laugh before she locked eyes with Nathan who nodded at her with a grin.

Brooke immediately gasped when she noticed the interaction between her sister and Nathan. "Did you see that?" She asked Peyton who furrowed her brows.

"What?"

"Nathan just gave Riley the nod." Brooke replied, making Riley give her a look, having an idea what Brooke was assuming.

"What nod, Brooke?" Riley sighed.

"The 'let's hook up after the game' nod." She said, before Riley rolled her eyes. "Wanna know what I think? I think Nathan likes my sister, a.k.a tutor girl. But, I think tutor girl likes Lucas, and I know I like Lucas." She quickly glanced at Peyton. "And I don't know who the hell you like any more. This is all turning into one big love..." The two blondes stared at Brooke who furrowed her eyebrows as she tried to come up with the answer that would finish her sentence. "rectangle plus one, whatever that is."

"Well... forget Nathan. Do you need a tutor?" Her sister chuckled softly, before her smile faltered as she let out a sigh. "And Brooke, like I pointed out before, Lucas and I are just friends and nothing more. You don't need to worry about me." Riley chuckled once again.

βˆ˜β‚Šβœ§β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€βœ§β‚Šβˆ˜

Of course, Nathan and Lucas were ruining the fun of another game by bickering with each other like little children. A disappointed Riley turned away as Brooke began chatting with her, that she didn't see Nathan gesture with his thumb in her direction after making a comment about her, making Lucas angry once again.

"Will you give it a rest, Nate?" Brayden rolled his eyes at his friend, before looking in front of him as one of the players on the other team did a free throw and got the ball into the basket.

As everyone began moving again, Lucas ran back to where the cheerleaders stood. "Hey." He called out to Peyton, catching the attention of the Davis twins as well. "So I saw Nathan in the shower... yeah, no wonder you broke up with him."

Peyton opened her mouth in shock, while Brooke and Riley couldn't help but laugh. Riley instantly slapped her hand over her mouth to hold in more laughter as Lucas ran back onto the court.

Acting in anger, Nathan threw the basketball that was in his hand, making it hit Lucas on the back of his head. Lucas turned around before charging towards Nathan and tackled him to the ground, taking Brooke down with them.

The boys on their team ran over to the fight to try and break them up, but struggled. Too angry with each other, they continued to ignore the ref who blew the whistle repeatedly, and Brooke crying in pain as the boys were still fighting on top of her.

"Brooke!" Riley's worried expression was quick to change into a more frustrated one as Nathan and Lucas still hadn't moved off of Brooke. "Will you two idiots get off my sister?!" Though thankfully, Brayden, Tim and a couple other boys managed to split them up as they pushed Lucas away, with the other boys stopping Nathan. Normally, Riley would try to calm him down, but at that moment, all she cared about was her sister.

"You two! You're out of here!"

At the ref's call, Whitey looked at him in disbelief and yelled. "You're throwing them both out of the game?"

"I've got to, Coach." The referee told him, and ran off to the other side of the gym. "I got punches rolling."

Whitey watched after him, slapping his clipboard at his side in anger. "They're on the same team!"

"Ow! Pain! Oh..." Brooke groaned as she clutched onto her ankle. Riley rubbed her sister's back in comfort, before pulling her hand away as her and Peyton helped Brooke off the floor so they could take her to get her injury checked out.

Riley and Peyton waited outside the room Brooke was in, as the game carried on in the gym until it finished. Riley was talking to Peyton, but stopped when she looked over Peyton's shoulder and saw Haley walking in the hallway. "Hales? What are you still doing here?" She asked.

"I'm thinking of transferring." The brown-haired girl chuckled. "What's your excuse?"

Peyton nodded towards the room. "Brooke. She's been in there forever." She explained, before they turned around at the sound of the door opening, followed by Brooke.

"Ry Ry! Peyton!" Brooke giggled as she stumbled down the hallway, with her arms in the air before she crashed into her sister's arms, and wrapped her arms around her neck.

"Oh, boy." Peyton sighed.

"Hi." The girls looked up hearing his voice, to see the student trainer who looked at Brooke's injury and gave her whatever pills Brooke seemed to be high on now.

"This is my fraternal twin sister, Riley." She said at first, before pointing at Peyton who stood next to Riley. "And this is Peyton. These two are my best friends in the whole wide world. Don't you think they're pretty?" Brooke asked, pulling one of her hands away to squish Riley's face.

Riley furrowed her brows before pulling Brooke's hand away from her face to wrap her arm back around her neck. "Umm..." She looked up at the trainer. "what is this?"

"She found some pills... on the floor." The trainer started to explain. "She'll be fine. Just, uh, let her sleep it off." He nodded, and walked around the girls to leave as Brooke laughed.

"Hey! Ooh, call me!" Brooke escaped her sister's grasp as she tried to run after the student trainer, but instead, she tripped over her own feet and fell into Haley's arms.

"I'll go bring the car around to the front." Peyton announced, as Riley grabbed Brooke's other arm to wrap around her shoulder with Brooke smiling widely at her sister.

"Thank you, Peyton." Riley smiled, before Peyton rushed through the doors, and Haley, Brooke and Riley followed behind a moment later.

"We should totally hang out more." Brooke began talking to Haley as the three girls were exiting the building. "What is your name?"

"Haley..." She replied, pursing her lips at Brooke.

"Yeah..." Brooke shook her head. "I don't like that name. Let's call you... Brooke!" She suggested as they finally reached the car. Peyton had walked around the car to get to them, and Brooke smiled once she saw her. "Hi, friend!"

"Thanks." Peyton told Haley once they were able to get Brooke into the backseat, with Riley sitting down next to her.

"Sure. I'll see you guys later." Haley said, going to leave but Riley stopped her before she could even take one step.

"Wait a minute, how are you planning on getting home, Hales?" Riley wondered.

"Oh. I'm going to take the last fan bus back." The James girl responded, before Peyton gestured to her right.

"They just left." She stated awkwardly.

"That's perfect." Brooke called from the backseat of the car as she looked up at them. "Brookie can come with us!" She turned to her twin sister with a hopeful expression and began poking her in the side. "Can she, Ry Ry? Pretty please!"

Peyton furrowed her brows at Brooke, and looked back at Haley who quickly explained for the girl, since she wasn't there when it happened. "Yeah, she named me Brooke."

Brooke snuggled closer to her sister as she looked up at Peyton, begging her this time. "Peyton, can she come? Please? Peyton, please!"

Riley giggled, leaning her head on Brooke's as the twins watched the two standing outside the car, before Peyton turned to Haley. "Just don't touch the stereo, or we'll have a problem."

"Road trip!" Brooke raised her arms that held her pom poms, in the air as Riley flinched away from her and listened to Brooke sing. "We're going on a road trip. We're going on a road trip."

"Ah, jeez."

βˆ˜β‚Šβœ§β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€βœ§β‚Šβˆ˜

From the backseat, Brooke was giggling as she waved her pom poms in front of Haley and Peyton's faces. "Brooke! Come on..." The latter let out a groan as she moved her head away to look back at the road.

Brooke stopped waving her pom poms around as she stared out the window for a moment, as if she was thinking about something before one by one, she threw out her pom poms. As she was too late to stop her sister from doing that, Riley let out a sigh and leaned back in her seat. "She's definitely gonna regret that." She mentioned.

Brooke giggled and clapped her hands, before she looked between Peyton and her sister. "Don't you two like the same guy?"

Peyton quickly glanced at Riley in the mirror who pursed her lips at Brooke. "I'm just tutoring him, that's all." She reminded her twin who hummed before turning around in her seat to look out the back window.

Riley reached her arm out in front of Brooke who wasn't wearing her seatbelt, and turned her head around to the front at hearing Peyton. "So, you're not into him? Because he seems to be into you."

"He gave her the nod!" Brooke called, making the blonde-haired Davis girl shake her head.

"He was just saying hi, Brooke." Riley tried to tell the girl, and went to respond to what Peyton just said, but she instead stayed quiet.

"Just be careful." Peyton once again, grabbed her attention as Riley looked over at her. "Well... you already know what he's like."

"What about you and Lucas?" Haley asked, doing Riley a favour as she changed the subject, making Riley smile at her in gratitude.

"What about us?" Peyton asked, looking confused at this question, causing Haley to scoff at her, but with no heat behind it.

"Oh, come on." The James girl turned her head to Peyton. "Tortured artist meets tortured athlete? Talk about your obvious attraction."

It wasn't long down the road before the car made a beeping noise, indicating it was running out of gas. Brooke was back facing the front and looked up at the ceiling with her mouth agape while she commented. "I hear birds."

"Unbelievable." Peyton groaned in annoyance as she slapped her hand on the wheel. "Brooke, did you not think to put gas in the car?"

Brooke leaned forward in between the seats, and turned to Haley with a pointed look. "Answer the question, Brooke." She said, before furrowing her brows as the car finally pulled to a stop when it had ran out of gas. "Why are we stopping?"

βˆ˜β‚Šβœ§β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€βœ§β‚Šβˆ˜

"Ry Ry, look!" Brooke giggled as she watched the roof of the car open up, while Peyton, Haley and Riley stepped out of the car.

Peyton slammed her car door shut. "There's still no signal. Who lives like this?" She huffed, after failing to get a signal on her phone, so the idea of calling someone to help them was put on hold.

"Pop the trunk, will you?" Haley asked, standing at the back of car as Peyton nodded, before going back to the driver's side and leaned over to press the button and pop the trunk.

Brooke leaned forward to Peyton, looking back at Haley suspiciously. "Peyton, don't listen. It might be a trick." She warned her friend, before moving back to the backseat and looked out at the three girls who stood at the back of the car.

After opening the trunk, Haley pulled the red gas tank out and sighed. "Yeah, it's empty."

"I saw a gas station a few miles back." The blonde haired Davis girl mentioned. "If I'm not back in an hour, tell my high sister I loved her."

"Don't you mean Nathan?" Brooke teased with a smirk, getting a look from Riley as she was given the gas tank by Haley.

"I'll go with you." Peyton volunteered, before the smile on Brooke's face fell.

"What about me?" She asked.

"I can stay with her." Haley offered, making both Peyton and Riley look at her. "Don't worry, Riles. I can try and let you know if anything happens. If I actually get any signal." She sighed.

"Thank you, Hales." Riley smiled in relief, before the James girl got back in the car and locked the car from the inside as Peyton and Riley started to walk off in the direction to the gas station.

Brooke pouted as she looked away from the back window and found Haley. "Brooke, I'm scared! What if someone comes?"

"No need to worry, Brooke. I've locked the doors. If anything bad happens, I told Riley that I would ring her... if I manage to get a signal." Haley said, playing along with her.

Meanwhile with Peyton and Riley, along the way to the gas station, they exchanged words about the Scott siblings, like they were continuing their previous conversation from in the car.

As the girls finally made it to the gas station, they tried to open the door but failed to do so. Seeing as the lights were off as well, they guessed it was closed.

"Great." Riley sighed in annoyance.

"And no phone. What are we gonna do?" Peyton asked, and Riley looked around in front of them until she spotted a pick-up truck.

"Come here." Riley said to Peyton, before rushing over to where the pick-up truck was as the curly-haired blonde followed her. "Oh, yes!" She spoke in relief once they approached the vehicle.

"So, what are you doing?" Peyton asked.

"Um... here, hold this." Riley said, and passed the red gas tank that Riley attached to a hose, over to Peyton. Riley reached into her pocket and pulled out a pocket-knife to cut part of the hose, making Peyton widen her eyes.

"Or you'll stab me?" Peyton laughed in shock.

"Well, a girl can't be too safe." Riley pointed out, and gestured to their surroundings. "You don't know what's out there." As she was trying to cut the hose pipe, she glanced at Peyton. "Here, try and get that gas cap open, will you?"

"Does this really work?" Peyton asked.

"We are about to find out." Riley replied, and put one end of the hose pipe into the truck's gas tank and the other, to her mouth as she started to suck on the other end.

"Had a lot of practice?" Peyton joked, making the Davis girl look up at her with a look. "At sucking gas. What did you think I meant?" She teased.

Riley pulled her mouth away for a second, to look at Peyton with a chuckle. "I knew what you really meant, Peyton Sawyer." She said before resuming to what she was doing.

"Watch out for the golf ball." At her words, Riley made a sound like she tried to laugh, but stopped and pulled her mouth away from the hose as the gas started flowing out. "Oh! Oh! Aah!" The girl exclaimed as she put the hose pipe into their red gas tank.

"Are you kidding?" Peyton sounded shocked but relieved that it worked, as Riley looked up at her with a bright grin. "Riles, who knew you were like the fourth Charlie's Angel?"

The girls shared a laugh. "Come on, we better get going back." Riley announced, picking up the red gas tank and they started heading back towards the car.

Once they got back to the car, Riley straight away began putting the gas into the car, so Peyton had stepped back into the car after Haley unlocked it from the inside. "Ah, jeez." Riley sighed, after she saw her sister's sleeping position, making Peyton and Haley look back and laugh. Once Riley was finished, Haley stepped out of the car so the girl could get in. Quickly, she gently moved Brooke's head up so she could sit down and laid the girl's head on her lap as Haley got back in the car, and Peyton was finally able to set off again.

"Peyton? He cares about you, you know?"

Peyton listened to Riley, knowing she was talking about Lucas and sighed. "Yeah." She stayed quiet for a second before announcing. "We need some music." She reached behind Haley's seat to grab a CD, momentarily taking her eyes off the road.

"Peyton!" Haley exclaimed, and instantly reached out to grab the wheel to bring the car back onto the road when she saw it began to swerve. Peyton quickly turned her head back, putting her hands back on the wheel before she managed to regain control of the car before it stopped.

"You're the one that invited her." Maybe the painkillers were starting to wear off.

"Uh, you pick." Peyton allowed the girl to choose, making the twins look at their friend, with their brows furrowed in question. Normally when they were in the car, Peyton never let anyone but her touch the stereo, so it was a surprise to the both of them when they saw this.

"Alright." Haley said, before putting her hand on the stereo to change the music.

Brooke looked between Peyton and Haley with a scoff, before leaning forward in the middle. "This is so tragic. You two don't actually think you're going to be friends tomorrow, do you?"

The three girls frowned at Brooke's words. Partly because it's true. Riley may be friends with Haley and have a foot in the popular world, however, it doesn't go the same for Haley.

As Peyton continued to drive down the road, she slowly pulled the car to a stop upon seeing three figures standing in the middle of the road.

Riley and Brooke leaned forward to look closer as the girls stared ahead, all looking confused to see Nathan, Lucas and Brayden standing together in the middle of the road.

From the outside of the car, Nathan, Brayden and Lucas looked just as confused when they saw the girls. "Haley with Peyton and Brooke?" The latter asked. Even though Haley was friends with Riley, he was still confused on why she was hanging out with Peyton and Brooke.

"Oh my gosh. Nathan with Lucas?"

"And Brayden's still standing?" Riley questioned, since she was used to the boy wearing a tired and fed up expression on his face whenever Nathan and Lucas were fighting. "Oh, god." She suddenly groaned and turned to her sister. "We're going to have to sit on their laps, aren't we?"

"Well, yeah! I'm not sitting on the floor."

"Brooke, we can't fit down there anyway."
