-      "LET THE GAMES BEGIN" your coach yelled. you slowly walked over to the stretching lines and started to stretch.

"1... 2... 3... 4..."

once the whole team was done stretching your coach told yall to run a lap around the gym and then come over to her. you were running with runa as you two took the lap around.

"so what's your plan" she spoke up. you looked over kinda confused on what she meant. but you just replied anyways.

"just the play the way I play" you said staring forward jogging.

"mmm ok, well im routing for you" she said.

"thanks runa"

once you two and the rest of the team finished the lap you guys kind of half circled around your coach.

"ok so this practice is mainly gonna be focused on spiking due to the quote on quote try outs for ace" she said while looking over at you and jae.

"everyone get in your regular positions and get ready to be playing with either one of these two" she said pointing at you and jae.

everyone got into their practice placements. runa was on one side with 2 other girls, you luckily got placed on runas side. you smiled at her as you walked over to her side and jae went to the others.

"ok guys, im gonna grade y'all on your skill, mind, reflexes, quick thinking, teamwork and more. i will not be basis towards either of you, it's man for man"

"yes ma'am" you and jae spoke.

you looked over at jae and you two glared at each other before the other manger of the team blew the whistle.

the ball was served over by your team as the other team bumped, set, and jae jumped high in the air slamming the ball from her hand to the ground.

runa slide to the ground trying to 'pancake' it before it hit the floor but it slammed onto the floor.

you looked over at her, who was glaring at you with a smirk on their face and mouthed, "just give up.. im gonna win", you rolled your eyes looking up and Atsumu who was staring down at you and the game play.

you looked up and smirked as you looked back down to focus on your game play.

the whistle blew once again as jae served it over. she serve spiked it over to y'all side. runa dropped her body low bouncing it back into the air.

"MYA B CORNER" runa shout out as the ball headed to the right.

you got into positioning before running up to the ball being set in a perfect arch and length. you lifted up your arms into a bow-n-arrow before seeing a wall in front of you.

you thought quickly as you cupped your hand, switching the direction of the ball. you slammed the ball down directly down, basically slamming it in front jae.

you tried to dive for it but missed it. you looked down at her as she laid on the ground and smirked finally mouthing back, "maybe you should give up".

you turned around, high-fiving runas hand hard.

"THATS MY BESTIE" runa yelled in a happy tone.

you laughed at her and went back to your spot. you looked up to see atsumus eyes wide and in shock. he didn't think you could spike like that.

you smirked at him and focused your attention back onto the game.

- 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲/𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀 -

- "the results will be posted outside my office in 30 minutes, y'all can stay or come back tomorrow" you coach said.

"I'll stay" you said smiling.

"mhm, ok"

you looked back over at jae and laughed as you knew you won the game and how you'd win the spot like you did the game.

you walked back into the locker room and changed into your extra cloths you packed. just a pair of athletic shorts and a over sized school hoodie.

you walked out the locker room back into the gym as you saw Atsumu standing out their as well as Suna and runa.

"oh hey guys, you know y'all don't have to stay" you said.

"uh bitch im staying" runa said.

you laughed as yall walk to a place to sit.

"I have to go, I got family crap. but I'll see y'all later" suna said while waving at you three.

"bye suna" you guys all said at the same time.

"ok so like I obviously got the spot right ?" you said laughing.

"yes" runa said

"mhm, you looked hot too" Atsumu spoke up, looking at you with intimidation.

'damn he's hot'

"s-sure, thanks"

"ooooooooo~ I sense a new ship" runa said while antagonizing you and Atsumu.

"your lucky we're in the gym.. because I would kill you"

"mhm, you love me" runa said being cocky.

"sureeee"

you glanced over at astumu after finishing your little 'teasing' conversation with runa. his eyes were in shock, like he had seen a ghost.

you were confused at first till you saw the tint of pink on his checks and you going into shock.

"the fuck is up with y'all" runa spoke up in concern and confusion.

"h-hes blushing" you stuttered out of your mouth.

Atsumu recollected himself before once again speaking, "UH NO- LIES- IM NOT BLUSHING"

you and runa laugh as you watch Atsumu freak out about being called out.

"ughhhh- we have one minute till coach comes out with the results.

"yup.. one minute" you said responding back to runa.

at this point you were laying your head in atsumus lap, while runa sat across from yall.

"im kinda ner-" you were cut off by the sound of a door opening and closing.

"THERE UP" runa yelled.

you stood up quickly before running over to the office. you glanced over looking to see if your name was on there or jaes.

'the new ace will be y/n l/n"

you jumped in shock and happiness before settling down. you glanced over at jae who looked pissed. she would most likely be placed in front row now but not as the ace.

you didn't really care as long as you got the spot.

"nice job y/n" Atsumu said while coming up behind you and sliding his hands across your waist.

your face flushing in heat as you felt his cold hands touch your skin...
