Chapter 11: Nicholas Flamel and Norbert
"Why didn't you tell me?!" I snapped. We're in the great hall, eating. Apparently, the two idiots decided to tell me about the Mirror of Erised. Merlin, its about two weeks ago! I grew suspicous on their strange actions so I confronted them. The idiots are hiding something important! I wanna see my parents, too, because I know that's my deepest desire. That's why I'm fuming right now.
"W-we just..um.. We don't want t-to wake y-you up." Harry stuttered. Ron nodded his head.
"That's not what I'm asking!" I yelled and slam my hands on the table. They cringed. Nearby people started watching our argument.
"We don't know how to tell you.." Ron whimpered. What a stupid reason.
"You don't know how to tell me?! You just need to say, ' Hi, Lucy! Guess what? We just found out something amazing!' Or ' Lucy, we're sorry for being idiots for not telling you what we just found out.' What a STUPID reason, Ronald! I'm not a DunderHead!" I yelled. I didn't notice that I was standing while scolding them but I don't care.
Everyone is staring on us now like they're watching a mother in a movie, scolding their kids.
"Um..-" I cut Harry off.
"Stop. Let's talk about this later. I'm not done with the two of you! And If you won't give me a decent reason, I'M GOING TO CUT YOUR MANLY PART, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!" I yelled. They nodded their head while whimpering. I harshly grab my bag and went outside the hall.
"If they have one..." I muttered.
They quickly apologized and of course, I forgave them. They said its not important anymore because Professor Dumbledore put it in other place.

In the library. Harry, Ron and I are seated, reading. Hermione came up with a huge book. She thumped it onto the table. Harry jumped.
"I had you looking in the wrong section! How could I be so stupid. I checked this out a few weeks ago for a bit of light reading." She said while searching through the book.
"This is light?" Ron stupidly asked.
"Hermione loves reading. Of course this is light for her, so stop talking." I said firmly. Hermione glared at him.
"Of course, here it is! Nicholas Flamel is the only known maker of the Sorcerer's Stone!" She dramatically said.
"The what?" The boys chorused.
"Honestly, don't you two read?" I said annoyed. I get the book and face it to us.
"The Sorcerer's Stone is a legendary substance with astonishing powers. It will turn any metal into pure gold and produces the Elixir of Life, which will make the drinker immortal." I read.
"Imortal?" Ron asked.
"It means you'll never die." Hermione explained sassily.
"I know what that means!" He said defensively. I chuckled. Harry shushed him.
"The only stone currently in existence belongs to Mr. Nicholas Flamel, the noted alchemist, who last year celebrated his 665th birthday! That's what Fluffy's guarding on the 3rd floor. That's what's under the trapdoor...the Sorcerer's Stone!" Hermione said. We all looked at each other.
Nighttime. Hermione, Ron, Harry and I are running across the wet ground to Hagrids hut. We knocked on the door and it opened.
"Hagrid!" Harry called.
"{clad in oven mitts and an apron} Oh, hello. Sorry, don't wish to be rude, but I'm in no fit state to entertain today. {Closes door.}" He said.
"We know about the Sorcerer's Stone!" The four of us chorused. The door reopened.
"Oh." We all come into Hagrid's small hut.
"We think Snape's trying to steal it." Harry said.
"Snape? Blimey, Harry, you're not still on about him, are you?" Asked Hagrid.
"Hagrid, we know he's after the stone. We just don't know why."
"Snape is one of the teachers protecting the Stone! He's not about to steal it!" Hagrid growled. Wait, one of the teachers?
"What?" Harry asked.
"You heard right. Come on now. I'm a bit preoccupied today."
"Wait a minute. {Ron and a big black boarhound, FANG, meet. Fang sniffs Ron.} One of the teachers?" Asked Harry.
"{sitting in a large chair} Of course! There are other things defending the Stone, aren't there? Spells, enchantments." I explained.
"That's right. Waste of bloody time, if you ask me."
{Hermione looks at Ron, who is being sniffed in the face by Fang. Ron shuffles away.}
"Ain't no one gonna get past Fluffy. Hehe, not a soul knows how. Except for me and Dumbledore. I shouldn't have told you that. I shouldn't have told you that. {A cauldron over a fire begins to rattle.} Oh! {Hagrid hurries over and grabs something} Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! {puts the thing, an egg, on the table. The group crowds around." Hagrid said.
"Hagrid, what is that?" I asked slowly.
"That's..um.." He stammered. Ron gape.
"I know what that is! But Hagrid, how did you get one?" Ron asked excitedly.
"I won it. Off a stranger I met down at a pub. Seemed quite glad to be rid off it, as a matter of fact." He explained.
The egg opened and baby dragon came out stretching its wings.
"Is that...a dragon?" Asked Hermione.
"That's not just a dragon. That's a Norwegian Ridgeback! My brother Charlie works with these in Romania." Ron exclaimed.
"Isn't he beautiful? Oh. Bless him, look. He knows his mummy. Hehe. Hallo, Norbert. { The dragon squeeks and looked at hagrid }" He said happily.
"Norbert?" Harry questioned.
"Yeah, well, he's got to have a name, doesn't he?" He answered. Ron laughed.
"Don't you, Norbert? {raises fingers back and forth across Norberts chin} Dededede." He cooed.
Norbert backs away, hiccuped and blew a fireball of fire into Hagrid's beard.
"Ohh! Oooh, ooh, ooh, well...he'll have to be trained up a bit, of course. {Norbert hiccups. Hagrid sees someone looking in the window.} Who's that? {The person scampers away}" He asked. We saw a blonde haired boy. Oh, this is not good..
"Malfoy." Harry replied gloomily.
"Oh, Dear."
The four of us are walking back through a corridor. An owl screeched.
"Hagrid always wanted a dragon. He told me so the first time I met him." Harry said.
"It's crazy. And worse, Malfoy knows." Ron stated.
"I don't understand. Is that bad?" Hermione curiously asked.
"It's bad." I said. We gulped. Professor McGonagall appeared in a nightgown with a lantern. Malfoy is behind him, smiling smugly. I glared at him and he winked at me. Git.
"Good Evening."
McGonagall's classroom. The four of us are standing in front of McGonagall's desk, while Malfoy is feet away, smirking.
"Nothing. I repeat nothing gives a student the right to walk around the school at night. Therefore, as punishment for your actions, 50 points will be taken." She spat. We stared at her shocked.
"50?!" Harry exclaimed.
"Each. And to ensure it won't happen again, all five of you will receive detention." Malfoy nodded, then his smile vanished.
"Perhaps I heard you wrong, Professor. I thought you said 'the five of us'." He corrected.
"No, you heard me correctly, Mr. Malfoy. You see, as honorable as your intentions were, you too were out of bed after hours. You will serve detention with your classmates." She sternly declared. Harry, Ron, Hermione and I grinned. Karma's a bitch, you Git!
Outside, at night, the five of us are being led to Hagrid's by Mr. Filch who is grumbling to himself.
"A pity they let the old punishments die. There was a time detention would find you hanging by your thumbs in the dungeons. God, I miss the screaming." Malfoy gulped and Hermione rushed by. I grabbed Harry's hand and he looked at me.
"Sorry, Filch's creeping me out." I whispered. He nodded and squeezed my hand.
"You'll be serving detention with Hagrid tonight. He's got a little job to do inside the dark forest. {Hagrid appears with a crossbow. He sniffles.} A sorry lot this, Hagrid. Oh, good God, man, you're not still on about that bloody dragon, are you?" He asked annoyed.
"Norbert's gone. Dumbledore sent him to Romania to live in a colony." Hagrid sniffed.
"Well, that's good, isn't? He'll be with his own kind." Hermione said.
"Yeah, but what if he don't like Romania? {Filch rolls eyes.} What if the other dragons are mean to him? He's only a baby, after all." He complained.
"Oh, God, pull yourself together, man. You're going into the forest, after all. Got to have your wits about you." Filch snapped. My eyes got wide. Not the forest!
"The forest? I thought that was a joke! We can't go in there. Students aren't allowed. And there are...{a howl sounds}...werewolves." Malfoy squeeked. Obviously scared.
"There's more than werewolves in those trees, lad. You can be sure of that. Nighty-night." He said and exited.
"Right. Let's go." (I'll skip it 'cause its getting late. I have school tomorrow.)
Gryffindor common room. Right after 'attack.' We were around the fire. Hermione, Ron and I are seated, but Harry stands.
"You mean, You-Know-Who's out there, right now, in the forest?" Hermione nervously asked to Harry.
"But he's weak. He's living off the unicorns. Don't you see? We had it wrong. Snape doesn't want the stone for himself, he wants the stone for Voldemort. With the Elixir of Life, Voldemort will be strong again. He'll-He'll come back. {Sits down}" He explained.
"But if he comes back, you don't think he'll try to kill you, do you?" Ron asked Harry who shrugged.
"I think if he'd had the chance, he might have tried to kill me tonight." He guessed sadly. I put my head on his shoulder. He put his arm around me.
"{Gulp} And to think, I've been worrying about my Potions final!" Ron exclaimed.
"Hang on a minute." I started. I looked at them. "We're forgetting one thing. Who's the one wizard Voldemort always feared?" They shrugged. "Dumbledore! As long as Dumbledore's around, you're safe. As long as Dumbledore's around, you can't be touched. {Harry smiles slightly.} I assured him.
