Right off the bat, Phillip is kind of a nerdy weirdo. His grades are top-notch, and all the staff at his school are head over heels for his academic brilliance, but in all reality, academic brilliance seems to be his only asset. He's commonly known as the crazy smart kid, whose only mode of communication in class is correct answers and incredibly convoluted questions that often leave teachers baffled. Perceived by most as a soon-to-be mad scientist, Pip wanders about, caught up in his own little sphere of existence, not giving a crap about his negligible social status. Though his off-putting qualities are many, one of the main reasons the students of Eden High avoid Phillip like the plague is a strange scandal that blew up among members of the student body a couple of years ago.

Despite being perceived as unhinged and a figure to be avoided, when befriended, Pip can be an unbelievably useful ally. If one can convince him to let them cheat off him, their bright future is sealed. Also, this sneaky little gremlin, though seemingly pure, innocent and clueless, knows dirt on pretty much anyone in the school, and won't hesitate to, ah, let things slip if angered enough. Most folks underestimate his keen, almost supersonic powers of hearing and observing, and Pip has long been enlightened to the benefits of playing dumb. Luckily though, Pip is extremely slow to anger and is usually meek and mellow.

Does Pip ever communicate with his fellow students? Well, yes. Mostly he ignores them because all he usually gets by way of conversation are jeers, taunts and barbs about his looks, clothes, lack of friends, lack of a romantic partner, lack of money, etc., etc. But rarely, when angels themselves are born upon the earth and are nice to Pip, he is also nice to them. But unless the human-angel in question is a hyperspecific oddball, it is likely they will not enjoy his company.When interacting with (nice) people, Pip is shy and quiet at first, as he is trying his very best not to show his weirdness and scare possible companions away, but they always sense it at some point and make it a point to stay away. To the braver ones that stay a little longer, the brilliant, sarcastic, and utterly mad side of Phillip is exposed.

Pip is insanely ambitious and is always aiming higher. His first priority is getting a scholarship to the most prestigious university he can possibly find, and he sends out applications by the dozen, often late into the night. He's logical and severely work-oriented, a kind of dunce when it comes to social interaction, and overall, a good person at heart with an unbelievably scattered brain. One moment he can be perfectly normal and awkward, and the next, he'll leave you wondering if he's completely sane. One second he'll be the bespectacled sweetheart that gave you a cookie because he thought you looked sad. The next, he'll be frowning at a paused frame of a bloody crime scene photo on some true crime documentary he's watching and debating with himself in two different voices whether the picture is legit or a reconstruction.

I could go on about this crazy yet lovable piece of work for ever and ever, but I'm sure you have better things to do that read about a fictional half-senile highschooler written by a real-life half-senile highschooler.

Phillip was born and raised in a relatively poorer family, and from day one, his ambition took root. His family was never financially comfortable, though Helen and Ryan manage to scrape together enough money to make sure their sons live comfortably enough. Even so, Phillip knows that they would never be able to afford college fees, so he's resorted to working his ass off to win a scholarship. Phillip's home life is quiet and peaceful, apart from squabbles with his little brother Lucas and the mad barking of his dog Willhemina.
