It's been 5 years since I last spoke to Lydia, and my memories were returned. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her. She was my everything... and she left me; I miss her.
The sound of screeching coming from my alarm woke me from my deep sleep. With a groan, I hit the alarm. A few minutes later and it's going off again, I groaned and sat up.
Waking up to an empty bed is one of the worst feelings in the world, not having that special person next to you hurts. Especially when you know that, that special person can never be yours.
"I'm up! I'm up!" I groaned turning off the alarm. Rubbing my eyes and shivering slightly, I grab my phone checking the time before getting up and jumping in the shower.
The warm water coats my body as a layer of armour. Once I have finished I get out and brush my teeth, before brushing my hair. I pick out some jeans, a black top and a red and blue flannel to go over it.
I head downstairs and go to make myself a cup of coffee, while I organise my things for work. Once I have finished I head upstairs and into Arabella's room.
"Bella..." I cooed walking over to her bed and kissing her head. "Come on babygirl, time to wake up." Bella groans and opens her eyes.
Arabella Claudia Stilinski is 3 years old and she's my daughter. I met her mother after countless one night stands just trying to get over Lydia.
Her mother left us not too long after she was born, i supported her through the whole pregnancy and then after 2 weeks of giving birth she said she was 'going out' and then she never came back. I've lost hope with if she'll return or not, but to be honest we don't need her.
It's been hard, some nights worst than others, when all you want to do is sleep but she has other plans, or when she won't eat and you go in to over protective parent mode, or when you want to eat but she wants all your food and then she gives you that look and you feel guilty if you don't.
Over these past 2-3 years I've gotten used to it and now she's my princess and she's the most important thing in my life. If it wasn't for the support and help of Scott and Allison, I don't think I could of done it.
"Hi Daddy." She giggles and wraps her small arms around my neck.
I pick her up kissing her cheek "Good morning princess, would you like some pancakes?" I ask smiling.
"Yes please!" She squealed happily as I carry her downstairs and into the kitchen. Setting her down in her chair I turn on some cartoons before making some pancakes.
After a long but cute breakfast session I take her back upstairs to change into some clothes. Allison really helped with what to do and what looks good together. Personally, I think blue and orange is a good combination you know; like two people together, but Allison has other ideas.
"What are we wearing today, babygirl?" I ask her looking through her clothes.
"Pink!" She says excitedly playing with her toys. I pick out a pink dress with white sparkly tights. I get her changed from her pyjamas to her clothes also putting on some small boots.
"Come on, let's brush our teeth." I say as I follow her to the bathroom. She brushes her teeth making numerous silly faces making me laugh.
I put on her coat, buttoning it up before putting my coat on. Picking her up I carry her downstairs and put on her backpack before grabbing my stuff and heading towards the car.
I buckle Bella into her car seat before getting in the car. "So, are you excited Belle?" I asked driving.
"Yes but I'm tired Daddy." She spoke looking out the window.
"I know baby, but if you do really good today we'll got and get ice-cream tonight!"
"Yay!" She exclaimed making me chuckle. I pull up at her school and help her out the car. Holding her hand I walk her to the classroom, where we hung up her coat and bag.
"I have to go now baby." I spoke sadly and softly.
"No, I don't want you to go." I crouch down as she walks into my chest snuggling into it.
"You'll be okay though baby, your gonna have some fun and make some new friends!" I said trying to encourage her.
"But I already have friends. I have you, and Uncle Scott and Auntie Ally." She sniffled.
"I know but you need friends your own age sweetheart, but I promise you if you make some friends and have fun we can get ice-cream tonight." I soothed rubbing her back.
She smiled and nodded "Okay!"
"I'll see you later then." I smiled looking at her.
"I love you daddy." She smiled.
"And I love you more babygirl!" I exclaimed. "Always and forever!"
"Always and forever." She spoke and kissed my lips before running off. I smiled widely before walking out and back to the car.
I work at the local newspaper agency, hoping that one day I'll get my big shot and move to New York and become a writer but for now my main focus is Bella.
Arriving at work, I continue to work on my segment for the local newspaper for Beacon Hills. Whenever I write I think of her. Of Lydia. She always said I should do want I want to do; not what everyone else wants me to do.
I often wonder though, how is she? Is she okay? Is she happy? Has she moved on? Has she found someone? Does she think of me? Has she found happiness?
Allison speaks to her all the time and tells me she's fine, which I'm glad, she deserves happiness; but then again so do I.
Before I know it the day has blown over and I'm on my way to pick up Bella. Walking to her classroom I wait for her to come out. I then hear a voice shout "Daddy!" Making my head turn.
She runs to me and jumps as I pick her up and spin her around peppering her face with kisses. She giggles wrapping her petite arms around my neck.
"How was school sweet pea?" I ask holding her.
"It was so good! I played in the sandbox and I learned to count to five! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5!!" She exclaimed very happily.
"That's amazing! Your such a big girl!" I smile happily and put her in her car seat.
"And I made a friend, she's called 'Caitlin' and she has a dog called Pippa!" I smiled even more listening to her while I start to drive.
"Sounds like you had and awesome day!"
"I did Daddy!" She smiled.
"Now, who's up for ice-cream?" I ask.
"ME!!" She shouts loudly making me chuckle. I pull up at the ice-cream place and carry her out of the car and inside.
"What flavour do you want baby?" I ask.
"Pink!" She said excitedly making me chuckle. I then go on to order a strawberry ice-cream for her.
We sit down in a booth and I hand her, her ice-cream and a spoon and she starts to eat; admiring the unique and silly little girl in front of me. She had managed to get it all over her face and clothes.
"Daddy, I'm sticky." I chuckled at her and start wiping her hands and face.
"I think someone needs a bath." I said.
"Nooooooooo." She moaned making me laugh. I carry her back to the car and put her in her seat before driving home.
After getting home I take her inside and upstairs, and undress her. I turn on the bath and turn to find her missing.
"Bella?!" I said and heard her giggle. I walk towards the closet and she jumps out and runs for it, making me laugh.
I chase her for a good five minutes until I've eventually caught her and she's successfully in the bath.
I clean her quickly before getting her changed into her pyjamas and carrying her downstairs.
"What would you like for dinner?" I ask her.
"Mac n cheese." She smiles. I start to make her some Mac n cheese.
I sit down with her as we both eat. "Did you make any other friends today?" I ask her eating.
"Yeah! A girl called Aimee, she's one of my best friends." She muffled with a mouthful of food.
"That's good!" I said clearing the plates before taking her upstairs. "Right choose a story for bedtime." I said and she chooses a book and climbs into bed.
I soon follow and she snuggles up to me. I smile at her pick it was 'the little mermaid' I instantly thought of Lydia and how we went as Ariel and Eric at her birthday party. It was Bella's favourite story.
I read the story to her while she fell asleep. I carefully got up and tucked her in before kissing her on the head and leaving. Heading downstairs I wash the dishes and do some laundry before heading upstairs and getting ready for bed.
I walk over to my night stand and pick up a necklace; the shell necklace I had given Lydia. I smile at the memory before carefully placing it back into the drawer.
Turning off the lamp I crawl under the covers wrapping myself in blankets. Before I could fall asleep I heard the faint patter of little feet walking into my room and climbing into my bed.
"I couldn't sleep." She said before snuggling into me. I kiss her head holding her.
"Night, night, baby" I said.
"Night Daddy." And with that we both fell asleep, I couldn't ignore that fact that Lydia was still on my mind.
