the dreams - part ii.

the dreams - part ii. her first

Adela Eugenie Potter was a happy soul. She said that, her family said that, her friends said that and if you ask someone who aren't that close to her, they would say that. She loved smiling with her whole heart. She could never fake a smile in all her seventeen years of life. That's because the way her eyes shined and crinkled when she smiled through heart is obvious to everyone who see her smile. So, when Niklaus Mikaelson first time saw her smile for real, he was momentarily dazed.

Well, that was understandable.

Adela Potter's smile was like stars shining in the night sky. Her eyes twinkled as she smiled so care freely and whole heartedly. Niklaus Mikaelson was used to people faking their smile while talking to him, but then he first got to experience the full blown smile followed by giggling so melodious that it puts shame to the birds chirping. Niklaus Mikaelson was absolutely in love with her and he was ecstatic about it. He looked at Adela who was talking to her friends. She was smiling and teasing them and it automatically made him smile. Rebekah always told him that he always saved up his smiles for when he met his soulmate and he guesses that she wasn't wrong at all. He then looked at the screen which was paused till now and saw that there was a new scene beginning.

The scene opened with a beautiful night sky full of twinkling stars. A royal palace surrounded was shown. The screen is zoomed in and taken to a bedroom.

That palace and the bedroom, she recognised them and guessing by the looks on their faces her family and friends also recognised them. It was her own house where she lived along with her family and where the Black's and her godfather visited a lot. She guessed that since she saw Niklaus' first dream, her first dream is now going to be shown.

The scene changed to a dark sky alight with stars and moon. The place is then shown to be a cliff from where the whole city down there could be seen. It was a plethora of lights and was absolutely gorgeous.

Standing at the edge of the cliff is a man looking at the city whose profile made him look absolutely handsome with wide shoulders and tall legs. His face isn't shown as the video zooms in.

The man was tall, almost 6 ft. His back was turned towards them so his face couldn't be seen. He was a man with hair as dark as the very sky on a night where there was no moon and his skin was as shiny as the very moon itself.

It wasn't very difficult for Adela's best friends to guess who it was now that they have actually seen him in reality. It was the very man who was a myth and a legend as far as they knew. A man who was now neither of that and was the dream man of their very princess. It was Niklaus Mikaelson.

All the Mikaelsons knew it was Niklaus who was on the screen. They knew that he would be in her dreams as soon as she was of age as per their ancient customs. They have always seen their brother be in daze as soon as he woke up, he was happy, oh he was so happy like a teenager who had his first crush. A teenager which he never got to be because of their father.

"You turned 14 that very day, didn't you?" Niklaus asked Adela looking into her eyes as she was already looking at him.

"Yes but at that time I didn't understand why did I start dreaming about you at 14, seeing as in my customs 14 was never a milestone but now that I saw how it was in your time, I understood why it had to be 14" Adela replied gazing at him and meeting his eyes. His eyes were blue, so blue they would put the sky to a shame. She could go on staring into his eyes which were the very window to his soul and never stop at all.

Adela was turning red, she knew she was blushing and she also knew she should avert her gaze else she just drown into the ocean that were his eyes, but she couldn't. It was oh so tempting to keep on looking but she also knew the things that actually tempt you the most might lead to consequences that might be hard to ever overcome.

Adela wanted to look at his face, she wanted to know who he was. She desperately needed to know why he was in her dreams. As far ar Adela could remember she never dreamt of anything in particular, especially a man. She never thought of a boy in all the 14 years of her life, so it's very surprising for her to be dreaming of a man.

But Adela wasn't so sure she was dreaming, the scenery looked so real that she herself was questioning if she was dreaming or if she was transmigrated to another universe.

While this question of Adela was rather valid, people still thought it was funny how she thought of herself to be transmigrated to a new world.
"Transmigration, love?" teased Niklaus which made her pout as she knew he was teasing. "Guess you read a lot of books, huh?" he continued as she just ignored him in favor of watching the motion pictures on the screen.

Looking at the two of them, especially his brother Niklaus, made happiness well in Elijah's heart. For as far as he can remember, he remembers right from the beginning, after becoming vampires and Niklaus' wolf side being bound which lead him to lose his humanity, Elijah remembered his only goal has always been his brother's happiness and redemption. He knew deep down that his brother would never be happy until he broke his curse. But then he realised even if his brother broke his curse, his happiness would only arise when he would meet his soul mate. Now that they actually met, Elijah could see the light in his dearest brother's eyes coming back as it was when he first dreamt of her. Looking at his brother who was actually happy after a millennium, Elijah vowed to himself to never let his happiness be affected and to make sure that his brother's soulmate was always safe. Always and forever.

Now, Adela knew that transmigration doesn't exist and she was reading too many books to be thinking of such things. Leaving all her questions aside, Adela walked forward towards the man.
As she walked forward, she stepped on the leaves present on the ground which crunched under her weight leading to a noise being produced.

The noise disturbed the man from watching the moon and he turned around. His face was still obscured to Adela which she didn't understand how it was possible as it was her dream and she had to know what she was actually dreaming about.

"Mon âme sœur" breathed the voice of the man. Adela's breath hitched both at his words and at his deep voice. She knew French, of course she did. It was inevitable for every pureblood in her society to learn various languages right from their childhood and Adela was always interested in learning more than anything.

The man walked forward, towards her as she was rooted to her spot. He came and stood just a breeze of air away from her and she could then easily see that she didn't even reach his shoulder in height. Her face was really close to his chest making it easy for her to listen to his heartbeat which was so rapid and loud she was unsure if it was just his heartbeat or if their heartbeat mixed together forming a symphony of beats.

The man of her dreams, literally, then raised his hands all the while looking into her eyes. He brought his hand towards her hair and tucked the strands of hair falling onto her face. His hand then caressed her cheek, his touch as soft as a feather and as light as a dandelion. Her skin tingled all over and her eyes shut in reflex.

"Open your eyes, my dearest heart" the man whispered, his words washing her in a kind of warmth and comfort she only ever felt when she was seated in front of the fireplace of her home cocooned in a blanket with a mug of hot chocolate all the while reading a romance book so involved in it, she tunes out the whole world around. That is exactly how Adela felt hearing the man's voice. She never thought a man could ever such effect on her, but here he did and she doesn't even know him.

Adela was aware of dangers of a man ever having such affect on her but she knew deep down in her heart that he would never used the affect he had in her to his advantage. She trusted him and that surprised her. She didn't even know if this man actually existed and here she is completely trusting him.

Now that Adela actually met him and knew that he existed, she still couldn't help but trusting him and that scared her.

Niklaus could understand where she was coming from, when he first dreamt of her he knew he was done for forever and at that point of time, he didn't know that forever for him would mean a millenium. Niklaus never for a second regretted waiting for his dearest heart, he was in fact honoured that someday he might get to hold her in his very arms if she is ever okay with it.

The rest of Adela's friends, as in Sirius, Remus and Regulus could understand why Adela was never ever interested in anyone else after seeing how she was with her soulmate in her dreams. They knew Adela must be very uncomfortable watching her dreams being displayed to the whole world to see, but alas they couldn't stop that from happening. But they would forever support her because as they remembered how it was implied that something happened to their dearest which was exactly why these movies were sent, they knew it had to happen and that they had to see it. They had to see whatever happened to the light of their lives and stop that from happening. Because they knew, if out of four of them, if something ever happened to even one person the other three people would crumble and never remain the same. They couldn't and even if they could, they wouldn't. They'd rather all four of them be happy forever till the very end.

"Who are you?" she asked him. She needed to know who he was. She had so many questions she wanted to ask him. She needed to know the who, why, what, where and when of this whole situation. She felt like he was the only one who knew her answer. She could see him but still she couldn't. She could hear him but that's never going to be enough.

"You'll know soon, ástin min" he answered in his voice that was deeper than the ocean. The raspy undertone of his voice rendered her breathless.

ástin min.
ástin min.
ástin min.

The term kept on ringing in her ear as she woke up from her dream. She knew most of the dreams are never meant to be remembered, but for the first time of her fourteen years life, she remembers every little moment of her dream right from the beginning to the end. She remembers his silhouette, his voice, his caresses and all of him that she could actually see. She remembers his face being obscured but she also remembers seeing his eyes which were as blue as the sky and his hair as dark as the night. She realised right then, she'll somehow one way or another surely learn why she's dreaming about this specific man and then she'll think about who he might be. But for now, she's going to lean back on to her beloved bed and try to actually sleep without dreaming about anything at all.

Fleamont Potter absolutely didn't know how to feel at this point. As soon as she reached age 14, he remembered his beautiful beautiful Adela running down the stairs on her birthday morning in such hurry, he was so sure she would fall, which rather fortunately she didn't. He remembered her making him and his dearest Effie sit together as she explained how she dreamt of a man who called her "his dearest heart" and how she couldn't see his face but she felt like she could trust him. Fleamont Potter remembered that very moment when he realised that his dearest heart had a soul mate. He remembered that little moment of being as happy and joyous as he was scared and angry. He remembered being happy that his littlest love had someone out there who'd love her as Fleamont himself loved her mother, he remembered being joyous that his darling daughter might get the epic love which he already had, and then he also remembered being so very scared of all the thoughts that led to a sad ending which he oh-so desperately did not wish for his daughter, he also remembered being terrified of all the repercussions on a person if something happened to their soulmate. He remembered thinking of all the what ifs that could happen to his daughter and then he remembered his dearest heart embracing him and letting him know that she's there, she's fine and she's always going to be fine.

Now that Fleamont Potter can see his daughter with her soulmate, he could see the sparkle in her eyes and he also could see the light coming back to the eyes of her soulmate who as much as he didn't want to believe was, Niklaus Mikaelson, the original hybrid. The Originals have always been a myth, a legend among the Wizarding World and finding that they're real is one thing but one of them being his dearest heart's soulmate is something he never thought would happen, but it did and he, Fleamont Henry Potter didn't know how to feel at all.
