(One week time skip)

"Are you awake?"

Your boyfriend's voice rang clearly through the phone and you rolled your eyes. "No I'm sleep talking. Yes I'm awake, idiot. Are you at the train station?"

"Yes, the train should be here soon. Make sure you wait for the green man before you cross the road (f/n)."

You chuckled. It had only been a week since you impulsively kissed Ushijima. Although it was a spur of the moment decision, you didn't regret it and eventually you grew the courage to ask him out.
Even if it required multiple pep talks from Tendo to get you to confess, in the end you did it.
The two of you were still hesitant though, Ushijima didn't know what would set you off and you didn't know what pace to go at. And both of you were scared of rushing or going too fast.

After spending most of your life staying away from people, allowing only Tendo, his mom and your mom to be the people who mattered in your life, letting Ushijima in was a big step for you.
Sometimes it kept you up at night.
What if your father hurt him or the volleyball team because of you? You certainly wouldn't forgive yourself.

But despite everything, you wanted to be selfish. For the first time in ages, you wanted to be happy. You wanted to be free.

You didn't know how exactly you'd deal with it if something were to happen to Ushijima or anyone he cared about, but you'd do everything you could to prevent that from happening.

"Yes Wakatoshi, I'll be careful. I'm almost at school, so we can just meet at your locker right?"

"Stay safe. I'll see you soon."

The two of you hung up and you tucked your phone away into your bag, and shoved your headphones into the pocket of your jacket.

Shiratorizawa Academy wasn't far off now, it was only another few minutes away. You could take the longer and safer way, but of course you being you took the shortcut to see your boyfriend even faster.

The path you took was a little shady, with litter all over the floor and many twists and turns but it always got you to school on time when you were running late.

Suddenly, you felt a hand grab your wrist and another cover your mouth as you got yanked into an alleyway.

When you finally stopped struggling against whoever had touched you, your eyes widened when you realised it was your father.

"Could you- I don't know- not do that?" You said, your breath uneven.

"Ah but where's the fun in always visiting your house? Your brother has gotten smart, he always keeps his friends around him now. It's a shame you never thought about that isn't it?" He taunted.

"I don't think you should meddle in my business. Just do what you came here to do and leave." You sighed. You were scared, terrified even. But the more fear you showed the more satisfaction he'd get.

"(F/n)-chan, your father deserves more respect than that don't you think?" He reached out again to grab your wrist but you slapped his hand away.

"Leave me and Satori alone." You said firmly.

"You better stay quiet or that precious brother of yours gets hurt."

"He's got his friends around him, hasn't he? You said it yourself, Satori is smart."

"I didn't want to have to do this. If you don't listen to me, I'll have to hurt your precious boyfriend." Amusement was visible in your father's eyes and you felt goosebumps rise on your skin.

"How did you—"

"Please. You're my daughter, I'd have to know at least this much about you." He laughed.

"Stay away from him." You clenched your fists and raised one hand to punch him, but he caught your hand and twisted it backwards instead, causing you to wince in pain.

"You don't give me orders young lady. I do." He growled and grabbed the back of your head before smashing your forehead to a wall.

"Leave him if you know what's best for you." Your father warmed before walking away, leaving you to clutch your head in pain.

Even after several minutes, the throbbing pain of your head remained. Your hand didn't hurt as much as it did when your father twisted it, so ignoring the pricking in your arm, you fished out your phone and called Tendo.

"Hey there (f/n)-chan! What's up?"

He didn't say 'sis'. He must be with his friends.

"Huh? Oh it's nothing. I think I called you by accident." You mumbled.

"What's wrong with your voice? Wait give me a second." You faintly heard him tell his friends to go ahead without him before he spoke again. "What is it? Have you been crying? Did something happen with Wakatoshi-kun?"

"Satori, it's fine. You can go."

"(F/n)-chan, you know I won't budge until you tell me what happened."

You sighed, then winced in pain because it somehow hurt your head to even breathe at this point. "...can you come get me? I need bandages."

Tendo's voice became more panicked. "Did he show up again?"

"Yeah. I was taking the shortcut to school and he dragged me into the alleyway."

"I'll be there in no time, (f/n)-chan, hang in there." He didn't hang up on the phone and you could hear his frantic footsteps on the line as he raced towards you.

Tendo was panting and breathless when he finally found you, crouching on the floor with your head in your hands. "How are you still conscious?" He asked when he saw the blood oozing from your forehead.

"I'm skilled like that." You chuckled and then bit your lip and hissed in pain. "Remind me not to laugh for a while. It kind of hurts."

Tendo carefully pulled you to your feet. "Can you manage to walk? There's a taxi right outside this alleyway."

"Yeah, I think I can do that."

Once the two of you were inside the cab, you felt your eyelids get heavier.

"Rest, (f/n)-chan. I'll be there when you wake up." Tendo assured you.

"Don't tell..." you trailed off.

"What?"

"Please, don't tell Wakatoshi." You managed before your eyes shut.

Tendo's eyes softened and he pet your hair gently. "Sorry (f/n)-chan. But if something happened to him, you'd want to know too." He whispered before taking out his phone to text his best friend.

CookieMonster: come to the hospital,
CookieMonster: it's about (f/n)-chan

FarmBoi: what happened?
FarmBoi: I'll be there

Also I know their relationship is going really fast and it might feel rushed but I promise this book I not even half way done,, I've a lot of plans for it (I hope) and a lot more will be happening so I need to make y/n and Ushijima have some fluff before I begin the angst ahhhh
