"Ushijima, leave, now." You ordered. The boy wasn't listening, though. His eyes were glued to your door, and they held a glint of curiosity.
"Ushijima please, I need you to go."
He looked at you this time, but shook his head. "Tendo made me promise to keep you safe."
"I need to keep you safe right now!" Your voice was strained and filled with frustration. The only thing enabling you to move was your urge to hide Ushijima from your father.
"I'll be fin—"
"You don't understand!" You snapped. "You don't know what you're getting yourself into!"
A crash from upstairs commanded your attention to return to your house. "I don't want to say it again. Leave." You pleaded before pushing open the door to your house and stepping inside.
It's not like you wanted to go inside. No one wanted to interact with a psychopath. But if you managed to escape him, he'd go after Tendo and his mother and you couldn't allow that.
This was the only way you could avoid anyone else getting hurt because of you. There was no way you'd forgive yourself if that happened. "I'm here." You called. "What do you want?"
You felt someone's hand wrap around your wrist and you turned, expecting to be hit in the head with some metal object, but instead it was Ushijima. Your eyes widened in horror. "You can't be here right now!" You hissed.
He didn't seem to grasp the situation at all, but that wasn't important. Your father hasn't seen Ushijima yet. There was still a chance to get him out. "(F/n), who trashed your place?" Ushijima asked.
"(F/n)-chan? You're not alone this time? Who's with you, Satori-kun? No, he sounds different. Is he your boyfriend?" The voice from upstairs grew closer and closer and you could hear him walking down the stairs.
"He's just a friend. Leave him out of this." You called back, forcing yourself not to falter. You caught sight of his shoes and panicked, he was getting closer. You turned around and turned Ushijima to face the wall and forced him to sit down. "Don't move until I tell you to, please." You begged, your voice shaking ever so slightly. "For me."
"Won't you let me see your friend? Your old man is just curious darling!" He sang, finally reaching the bottom of the stairs. You only noticed the metal pipe he was holding then, and your heartbeat increased drastically.
Hold it together, (f/n).
He approached you, only making you break into a sweat. Despite being turned around and facing the wall with no clue what was going on before your eyes, Ushijima found your hand and gave you a reassuring little squeeze.
Stay strong. Protect him, at least.
"I suggest you leave." You managed without your voice cracking. "The cleaning services will be here soon, and the police want to inspect my house again."
"Is that so, my precious daughter?" Your father used one end of the metal and placed it under your chin, then pushed it upwards, forcing you to look at him. The fact that you weren't passed out from stress and panic by now was a miracle, but you had to stop your father from seeing Ushijima at all costs.
"Still, I can't leave without reminding you who's in charge here." He sighed and in one swift movement, pulled the metal pipe away from your chin and swung it at your head.
You hissed in pain and clutched your forehead with your free hand, using the other to squeeze Ushijima's hand even harder. "Stay where you are," you begged, no longer even aware if you were speaking to your father or Ushijima or perhaps, both.
Your father smiled in satisfaction when fear and desperation became evident in your voice. "Don't you ever forget your place you worthless little brat." He hissed, before leaving your house through a broken window.
You were hyperventilating now, and fell to your knees, clutching at your chest and trying to breath. The moment you let go of Ushijima's hand he began to move again, turning around to face you, his face laced with concern, worry, but worst of all? Fear.
You didn't want him to look like that. You'd lived your entire life this way, but Ushijima didn't deserve this. He didn't deserve to be pulled into your hell hole of a world. This only made your breathing even more unsteady.
"Are you okay?" You asked, not meeting his eyes.
"Forget about me for one second and worry about yourself, (f/n)." Were the last words you heard before everything went blank.

The constant beeping of the machine woke you up, and you had the urge to throw it somewhere, if only it would stop.
"You're awake." Startled, you looked to your side to see your half brother rub his eyes tiredly. "You had me worried there."
"Where's Ushijima?" You asked in a hurry, sitting upright.
"He's just gone to get some coffee for me. Mom doesn't know you're in hospital, she's working and I didn't tell her." Tendo briefed you.
You exhaled I'm relief. "What did you tell Ushijima about our dad?"
"Same thing we tell mom. Some stalker is after you, occasionally pulls this stunt and leaves for a few months."
But Ushijima heard the psycho refer to me as his daughter. He knows too much already. You internally panicked but refused to let it show on your face.
"Did he see Wakatoshi-kun's face?" Tendo asked.
You shook your head no. "I didn't let him." You replied. "But you need to make sure Ushijima doesn't hang around me anymore. Today was dangerous."
Tendo nodded. "I know but I can't always be there."
"You don't have to be!" You said raising your voice. "I'm okay even if I'm alone, Satori. I'd rather be by myself than put you or Ushijima or anyone else in danger."
"But I wouldn't be okay with that!" He said back, his voice also increasing in volume.
"You have your mom to look after! Aren't you worried? Just look out for yourself damn it! I'll be fine!" You snapped.
"You will not be fine. Just look at today! Even with Wakatoshi-kun you got injured. Imagine if he wasn't there?"
"If he wasn't there i would've been fine! I have the shittiest luck where I just can't seem to die no matter how much everything hurts!" You were shouting now.
"Say that one more time (f/n), I fucking dare you." Tendo threatened.
You opened your mouth to repeat your sentence word for word but felt a sharp pain in your head and hissed, your hand flying to where it hurt as you bit your lip.
"Fuck— (f/n)-chan I'm sorry—" Tendo began but you waved a hand at him, telling him it wasn't his fault.
"I'm sorry I said what I did. I love and appreciate you so much Satori. I just can't let you get hurt anymore. I have nothing to lose, but you still have your mom. So put her first and let me take care of myself okay?"
"You know I won't ever stop worrying about you right?" Tendo asked, eyebrows raised.
You forced out a chuckle. "Unfortunately, I'm aware."
"Tendo here's your cof— oh, (f/n), you're awake." Ushijima said as he walked in.
"I'd been meaning to ask, since when do you call her by her first name?" Tendo questioned.
"Literally since today." You shrugged. "Why?"
Tendo only winked suggestively. "No reason at all."
But Tendo already had planned out your whole future with Ushijima in his head. The hard part for him was making it a reality.
