FarmBoi: oh
FarmBoi: I think I forgot to

Sleepyhead: /sigh/
Sleepyhead: at least come inside then

You opened your front door and called Ushijima inside while you made scrambled eggs as a quick breakfast.

"You don't mind eggs right?" You asked, once you'd already cooked for two.

"Not at all."

"Thank god." You smiled and set a plate in front of Ushijima, "Eat up, I'll be right back after I change into my uniform."

In the end, you were both late for class and you were beginning to get more attention from people around school for being the girl Ushijima kept being seen with. Being one of the best spoilers in Japan was no joke, of course he was popular.

Tendo now insisted upon having lunch with you and Ushijima would rag along. Sometimes Tendo would ditch you and leave the two of you alone to eat by yourselves. You didn't hate it, in fact, you quite liked being around Ushijima. But it was dangerous for him and you didn't want someone to get hurt because of you.

After school, there was practice and you being manager had to be around. Once you'd gotten the hang of the rules of volleyball, watching them play was somewhat mesmerising. The team wasn't extraordinarily unique or different, they were just strong. Plain and simple.

It had been a few weeks since Ushijima tried crazy things to make you laugh, and luckily he hadn't tried to be a 'bad boy' or a flirt again since. Coach Washijo had accepted you as a part of the team at this stage, and even though you tried to stop it, you knew you were developing feelings for a certain farm boy.

"I'll change quickly." Ushijima assures you and began rushing ahead but you stopped him.

"There's no need to walk me home today. I have work. I'll see you later okay?" You smiled and turned to leave, only to feel yourself being tugged back.

"I'll come with you."

"Wakatoshi, no."

"Why not?"

"I don't need baby sitting, I'll be fine. Just go home okay?" And with that you freed your arm from his grasp and scurried to work.

It didn't take long for Ushijima to enter the store though, and your brows knitted together as you frowned at him.

"(L/n) your boyfriend is here, you can take his order." Your manager called.

"No, wait he's not my—"

"Just take his order, rush hour hasn't died down."

You sighed and trudged over to Ushijima's table. "What are you doing here?"

"Making sure you're okay." He replied.

"Wakatoshi I already told you, I do not need a babysitter."

"Then someone to walk home with." He shrugged.

"I don't need you to—" You caught sight of your manager narrowing his eyes at you and plastered a smile onto your face. "My manager will kill me if I stay here and talk to you for too long, so what do you want to eat?"

~•~

"You need to stop coming to my work all the time Wakatoshi."

"You need to stop walking home late at night."

You rolled your eyes. "Great. First Satori was nagging me and now you too?"

"You worry people.

"I didn't ask for your concern." You whined.

"That's now how worrying works, (f/n)."

"Shut up, I know." You grumbled, and stopped protesting against him walking you home.

Once you reached your door and you were sure no horrors were awaiting you inside, you turned to Ushijima. "Good night Wakatoshi, and don't walk me to school anymore. We can just meet at school."

"We'll see." He answered. "Good night."

You sighed at first then chuckled. There was no convincing that boy.

The next morning, Ushijima was once again waiting outside your door. Not that it surprised you at this stage.

"I thought I told you to stop?" You mumbled, locking your door behind you when you were ready

"I never agreed."

There really was no stopping him.

School was a drag as usual, but you pulled through the lessons and when lunch time rolled around, you were done with classes. Not waiting around for anyone to notice, you grabbed a few books from your locker and left school grounds to go to the park.

Not long after, you were greeted by the two most annoyingly nagging men in your life.

"(F/n)-chan! What are you doing out here?" Tendo asked innocently.

"What the hell are you two doing here?" You asked back.

"Tendo saw you leaving so he suggested that we follow you." Ushijima shrugged.

You groaned in frustration.

Gee, talk about giving someone space.

"I swear I'm going to get a restraining order against both of you one day." You laughed, but you were half serious.

"Awww (f/n)-chan you love us too much!" Tendo sang gleefully.

"Oh you wish I did, loser."

Despite the two of them being basically stalkers to you, you understood why they worried. Tendo more so than Ushijima, you were still confused as to why the ace of the volleyball team was so hooked on keeping you safe, but you saved that question for another time.

You laughed and joked with them for hours until it was beginning to get dark. You checked your phone.

18:37

"I've to head off to work now, both of you head home okay?" You didn't wait to listen to their protests and instead, grabbed your bag and jogged off, hoping neither of them had the energy to come after you.

But boy were you wrong.

Just like he had been doing for weeks in a row, Ushijima waltzed through the door and seated himself and you headed to his table to take his order. It took him longer than usual to get to your workplace, which was odd. When you got close to his table, you noticed that for once he wasn't paying attention to you and instead flicking through the papers in his hand.

Curiously, you leaned over the table to get a look. "I told you not to come here everyd— is that a resumé?"

He looked up to see you and nodded. "I'm going to apply to work here."

"Wait. What?!"

"You said your manager gets annoyed if you talk to customers for too long. It's fine if I'm a co worker right?"

"Wakatoshi, no."

"But—"

"People will think we're dating or something! You already visit me at work almost every day and walk me back home. Rumours will go around about us—"

"So?" He deadpanned.

You gawked at him. "'So?' S o?! Wakatoshi, dating isn't a joke—"

"I never said it was—" He began but you cut him off.

"Shut up and let me finish! We can't have people thinking that we're together okay? There shouldn't be any rumours and—"

"(L/n) we have customers waiting!" Your manager called and you gave him a thumbs up before turning back to face Ushijima.

"Whatever you do, we are not dating and don't you dare apply for a job here to be around me I swear Wakatoshi I will—"

"(L/n)!" You manager called again, a little harsher than before.

"Coming!" You called before flashing Ushijima an apologetic smile. "Please, just listen to me this once, okay?"

"We'll see." Was the only response you got out of him before a co worker pulled you away so your manager wouldn't fire you.

"Talk to your boyfriend when your shift is over you lovesick little puppy." Hiyori teased.

You sighed, exasperated. "For the last time, he is not my boyfriend."

"Yet!" She giggled before disappearing into the kitchen, leaving you glaring holes at the door she closed behind her. Maybe it wasn't too bad of a thing that she had left, because now you were a blushing mess when her words sunk in.

~•~
