"Sorry for taking up all your time from practice today." You apologised but he shrugged it off. "I'll make up for it! Wanna eat something? I'll pay!" You insisted, and after a bit of persuasion, he gave in.

"I owe you big time, Kageyama."

"Tobio." He said flatly.

"What?"

"You can call me Tobio." He stated. "We've known each other long enough."

"Oh." You were surprised, Kageyama and you had known each other for a few years, sure. But although you met him a while back, you hadn't exactly considered yourself close enough to Kageyama to be on first name basis. You used to be close in junior high, but the more people you met, the more you and he drifted apart.

However, the more time you spent around him, the more you realised he wasn't that bad at all. He'd changed a lot from Junior high, and seemed a lot more approachable now than he was back then. You chuckled internally, remembering how hard it was to make friends with him a few years ago.
You smiled. "Sure thing Tobio. You can call me (f/n)."

He nodded and led he way to his favourite fast food place, which just so happened to be McDonald's. He ordered a strawberry milkshake and went to sit down while you paid for him and ordered a wrap for yourself.

The food was ready shortly and he sipped away contently on his milkshake.

"(F/n)?" You looked around to see who'd called, and a smile rested on your face when your eyes landed on Yukio.

"Hey girl! I thought you'd be home by now."

"Uh, yeah I would've been but I got hungry and came to grab something to go." Your friend's eyes darted between you, and Kageyama who seemed to be paying no attention to his surroundings when holding that milkshake in his hands. "I won't be interrupting your little..." She struggled to find a suitable word but gave up. "Date." She smirked and skipped off, giving you a wink.

You face palmed at her and you were about to ask her to join you but she had already disappeared out of sight. "That girl." You sighed, shaking your head.

Once you were done eating, you looked up to see Kageyama staring at you. Well, more so zoning out. You waved a hand in front of his face, pulling him back to reality. "Oh, sorry." He mumbled.

"Let's go?" You suggested and he nodded, getting up and grabbing his bag. "Which way is your house?" He asked, helping you get up on your feet.

"This way." You replied, pointing to your right. He looked surprised but followed.

"Mine too."

He didn't mind walking slowly, apparently, because he wasn't being impatient or inconsiderate and telling you to pick up your pace even though you were taking ages.
Still, feeling a little guilty, you tried to walk a bit faster and stumbled a little.

In a flash, he was right next to you, steadying your by holding both sides of your shoulders. "T-thank you." You said quietly.

He only nodded in response. "Mind if I..." He trailed off gesturing to his hand and your waist. You didn't exactly understand, but you knew he was a gentleman enough not to be thinking in a strange way and so you nodded. He slipped his arm around your waist and on instinct, you slung one arm around his shoulder, finding it easier to walk this way.

"Thank-"

"Shut up (f/n), you've said that too many times today."

"I said it twice!" You protested and he only sighed.

It was getting sort of cold, and the only source of warmth you got was from Kageyama.

When he was supporting your weight like this, it didn't even look like you were injured, but rather, Kageyama and you looked quite like a couple.

You laughed and pointed this out, and he looked quite amused. "You really don't have a filter do you?"

You shook my head. "Not really. Sometimes I have a filter but when I'm tired, that's just me being brutal."

"It's... nice." He was so quiet you almost didn't hear him, but his words left you grinning.

The two of you walked in silence, except when you had to point this way and explain the way to direct him to your house. "Well, this is me." You stood in front of your house and you could see him examine it. You turned too, and tried to look at it from an outsiders view.

It was a relatively average sized house, with two floors, but the second floor only held one room -your room- with the rest of the space being taken up by the terrace. The best part of the house wasn't the house itself, it was the garden, tended to very carefully by your grandmother.

"Nice house you've got there." He commented.

"Credits to my grandma, she takes care of everything here."

"I'll be off then. Be ready at 7 tomorrow, I'll walk you to school until your ankle heals."

"At 7?! I don't ever wake up until 8, school starts at 8:30 and I have plenty of time to get there-"

"(F/n) you sprint to class every morning and arrive in the nick of time but now you have a sprained ankle. You need to leave early."

You sighed in defeat, realising you couldn't sprint with your foot in this condition. "Alright, but isn't that too much trouble?"

He shook his head, "I live about 5 minutes away. I'd say I'm surprised I never knew we lived near each other but let's be real, it's because you're never in school early."

You puffed my cheeks out bitterly, not being able to disagree. "Thanks for the insult, now run along loser." You shooed him away and he only got as far as a few feet when your door opened.

Oh no.

"Grandma! What are you doing outside, let's get you back in the-"

She cut you off with a wide smile, but her eyes weren't on you.

Crap. Crap. Crap.

"Who might this young man be (f/n)? Your boyfr-"

"Grandma no. You know how that ended last time." Your grandma wobbled over to you with her walking stick and slapped the back of your head.

"I told you not to give up because of that good for nothing rotten coconut." She lectured. You heard Kageyama snicker and turned to him accusingly.

"What?" You snapped.

"Nothing, it's just that I know where you get your... unique insults from." He teased, choosing his words carefully.

"This one appreciates my humour I see." Your grandma said smiling warmly at Kageyama. "(F/n) why don't you invite him inside to eat."

"Grandma!" You whined but shut up when she gave you a stern look. "Do you wanna come eat?" You asked him.

"(F/n) and I actually just came back from McDonald's, so I'm quite full. I'll come by another day." He said politely with a bow. You were quite surprised at his politeness.

You were snapped back into reality when grandma elbowed you in the stomach, with a 'you didn't tell me about him' sort of look.

Kageyama excused himself and left for home, saying he'd be back to walk you to school in the morning. "He's walking you to school?" My grandma questioned.

"Grandma it's not what you think I-"

"Oh it's exactly what I think. That boy is a suitable person for you (f/n). He's very sweet."

"Grandma no, he's such a tsundere around girls sometimes-"

"Ah. He's one of those bittersweet types. He didn't seem to be like that around you." She smirked.

"I doubt he thinks I'm a girl. Last week he told me I looked like a lost fish in class. And in junior high, he told me I looked like Medusa." You grumbled. To your shock, your grandma laughed.

"Oh he's a keeper, my child." She chuckled. "He's a keeper."

And that's when you told her about your sprained ankle and your grandma went berserk, scurrying around the house with her walking stick to prepare 50 thousand home remedies to make you feel better.

You chuckled. No matter what happened, you'd always feel at home here, with the woman who raised you. "Get in here (f/n), these remedies aren't being prepared for nothing!" She called.

"Coming!" You yelled, and disappeared indoors.
