Time flew and it was already Christmas break. There were only a few days before the Christmas dinner you were talking about would begin.

Every year, Yukio and her parents would be away at her grandparents house to celebrate Christmas, and so you never got to celebrate Christmas with her.

This year, however, you seemed to be in luck. Yukio's grandparents were coming over to stay at her hosue for a week, and so she was allowed be at my house the day before Christmas for the dinner party with Karasuno's volleyball team.

You invited your closest friends to help you decorate your house, who were Yukio, Hinata and Kageyama. And to everyone's surprise, Kenji, too.

You two had gotten closer again, and you were starting to see the old him. The one you'd agreed to date. This time, the feelings were all platonic.

Kenji and you shared moments that would once have made your heart flutter, but now you only had eyes for Kageyama and you weren't swayed even when he used a pickup line on you, or did something sweet.

But heck, not to be dramatic or anything, but Kageyama could breathe in your direction and your heart would be pounding.

The four helped you with the Christmas tree, and Kenji pulled out the old decorations that you would use every single year from the store room.

You got up on a stool to stick up the fairylights on your windows and the stool wobbled, but Kenji was quick to stabilise it. "Thank you." You said quickly and focused on decorating once again.

Once you'd finished, you leaped off the stool and stood. "You were a great help!" You ruffled Kenji's hair and went to find more decorations around the house while Yukio, Kageyama and Hinata were on tree decorating duty.

Your grandma was on snack duty, making sure none of you were hungry even for a second, and Kenji seemed to be growing on her. Kageyama was still her favourite though, which made you happy.

Kenji offered to help your grandma out in the kitchen and you continued cleaning up the place, sticking on glow in the dark stars on your windows.

4 days until Christmas.
Which meant 3 days until Christmas eve.
Which meant tomorrow was Kageyama's birthday.

You hadn't forgotten, you could never forget. But you'd planned to celebrate with him a little later. It would be a little surprise for him, of course.

He'd mentioned his parents being held back at some meeting and they were staying the night at some hotel, they'd be back early tomorrow and so you told him -more like forced him- to spend he night at yours and your grandma's house so he wouldn't be left alone.

You wouldn't allow it. Especially not on his birthday. A few hours later, the house was spotlessly clean and almost shining. The decorations were well put out, and Yukio's artistic touch was evident. The idiotic duo were exhausted from following Yukio's precise orders as to where to hang each and every item and they were both passed out on the couch.

"I'm surprised you can manage the two all by yourself." You commented.

Yukio beamed, looking pleased with herself. "I wouldn't let them eat anything until they finished a room so they listened pretty well. Your tips came in handy (f/n)!"

Kenji couldn't stop laughing at the sleeping pair. "(F/n), look! They're cuddling! Take a picture!" He managed between laughs.

Yukio seemed to agree with him and pulled out her phone, taking pictures from God knows how many different angles.

The three of you who still managed to be awake, stuffed yourselves with the snacks youe grandma made.

Yukio and Kenji eventually also felt drowsy and bid you goodbye, leaving to go to their respective homes and sleep for days on end.

You woke the pair up, telling them to get off your couch or you'd expose pictures of them cuddling to the rest of the team.

They jumped to their feet in alarm. Hinata began blabbering. "W-what? (F/n), you wouldn't-"

"She would." Kageyama shrugged and you nodded.

"He's right."

"When am I not?" He snorted.

"When you call me human because I'm very clearly not!" You replied.

"Oh I'm so regretful that I didn't bring you back to the zoo where I found you!"

"You little- I'M AN ALIEN NOT AN ANIMAL YOU DUMBASS TREE!"

And with that you were chasing Kageyama around the house, both of you careful not to create a mess since you'd just cleaned it all up.

Hinata was confused at first but said something along he lines of "Kageyama must be right if (f/n) got mad at him for saying something." under his breath but you heard him with your super sonic hearing.

"OI HINATA, DON'T THINK YOU'LL GET AWAY WITH SAYING THAT YOU TANGERINE!" And with that, you were chasing both of them, with Hinata running for his life and Kageyama running to exhaust you.

When it began getting dark, Hinata said he'd head home and you sent him off, telling him you'd see him soon.

"Soon?" Kageyama asked. "What do you mean?"

"The Christmas eve dinner I invited the team for is in 3 days. So I'll see him soon." You lied smoothly and Kageyama didn't dwell on it.

Once dinner was over with your Grandma, you waited for her to fall asleep before telling Kageyama to get dressed.

"I'm hungry again, let's eat out!" You suggested.

"I'd like to say I'm surprised but you pig out on a daily basis so I'm used to this. I'll be ready in five." He said and went to the guest room to get changed.

You refused to tell kageyama where you were headed and you could tell he was starting to feel unsure.

"Just trust me, okay?" You said softly.

"Easier said than done." He sneered and you playfully punched his arm. "Kidding. I'll trust you, (f/n)." You smiled at this.

"Here we are!" You stopped dramatically in front of Ukai's store amd Kageyama looked more confused than ever. "Let's go inside! You'll see."

Without waiting for a response, you took his hand and led him inside only to be met with very loud singing. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" The words rang loud and clear through the shop and Kageyama's face went from confusion to shock.

"What in the-"

"Happy birthday, Tobio." You laughed. "How'd you like your surprise party?"

The entire team stood there, waiting for a reaction. "Knife- nuff, nice!" He stammered and everyone burst out laughing.
