I'll try leaving (A/N)s to the end of the chapter, unless something important comes up.

I have something important to say:

You guys are all beautiful and I love you to death even if I don't talk to you. Don't degrade your self worth for anyone else, and I'm here for each and every one of you!

I'd keep going but half of you just wanna get on with the story, so here goes!

Stay fabulous babes xo

~•~

You entered the gym with Yukio following closely behind, both of you distracted and engrossed in your conversation. And this resulted in you tripping over your own feet.

Yukio couldn't hold back a snort before she crouched down to help you up, and that's when a ball flew right over her head. She inhaled sharply, knowing that could've hurt her real bad had she still been standing. "(F-f/n)!" She exclaimed.

"I just saved your life, Yukio." You stated, taking full credit for the safety of your friend. She shook her head at your childish ways but thanked you. Even though all you really did was fall.

And that's when Kageyama jogged over. "Have you two seen a volleyball come here?" He asked. "That dumbass aimed the wrong way." You looked behind him to see Hinata, a shade of tomato red, once again apologising profusely. "Gomen! Gomen (l/n), Gomen Yukio!"

You pointed behind you. "The ball went that way." He nodded and left with a small bow. You paid no mind to him and smiled when Hinata came towards you, sputtering multiple apologies. "Don't worry about it, now that I've seen how strongly you hit the ball, I'm really excited to see you play."

Yukio got called away to run some errands by her friend passing the gym and she excused herself, saying she'd come watch another day. She waved bye to you and ran off.

Kageyama came running back with the ball in his hand, but came to a stop beside you. "Why haven't you gotten up yet?"

"Huh? Oh!" You only realised you hadn't gotten back to your feet when he'd pointed it out. "I forgot." You chuckled and sprung back up to stand and hissed in pain.

Kageyama looked at you with a blank expression. "What did you do this time?"

"I don't know- but my ankle kinda hurts." You mumbled. He sighed but caught my hand when you lost balance.

"Hold on to me. Dumbass, go ask coach what to do." He said the second part to Hinata to which Hinata scurried off.

"Take her to the infirmary. You can make up for practice another time." Coach instructed. Beside you, Kageyama was fuming when he heard that he had to miss practice.

"I can go by myself! It's alright." You spoke up and detached yourself from the raven haired boy, and walked towards the door, not showing signs of much pain. The second you were out of the gym, though, you leaned against the wall and bit the inside of your cheek to distract yourself from the pain shooting through your foot.

Slowly, using the wall as support, you limped in the direction of the infirmary. Your vision blurred as tears welled up in your eyes from the pain in your leg but you couldn't just stop so you forced yourself to keep going. "You just tripped (f/n), you're going to be fine. Suck it up."

"You dumbass." You couldn't help but let out an alarmed yelp when you heard a familiar voice. Kageyama had made no noise when walking up to you somehow. "You could've just told us your ankle hurt this bad."

Had he left practice to check on me?

You scoffed. No that was nearly impossible. Volleyball was Kageyama's passion.

You hurriedly wiped away your tears, feeling embarrassed that you were so vulnerable. "Didn't want you to miss practice." You mumbled and turned around to attempt to walk to the infirmary.

He sighed and stopped you. "Let me help." You looked up at him and nodded, deciding to take a chance and trust him. Merely seconds after that, he scooped you up in his arms. Out of reflex, you put my arms around his neck.
This was not at all what you had in mind when he suggested helping you and you couldn't stop the heat from rushing to your cheeks.

"What're you looking at me like that for?" He muttered.

Snapping out of your daze, you averted your eyes for a few seconds before remembering that you were (f/n). The girl with "no filter" and barely any shame. You stared at him again. "That was pretty smooth." Letting a laugh escape your mouth. "I'm surprised there aren't many girls swooning at your feet."

(A/N: I was actually really surprised when watching haikyuu to see that Oikawa was the only one with fangirls. ALL OF THEM DESERVE LOVE but I guess I can rest assured that Kageyama has fan girls because that's why you all are reading this ;)

"Oh shut up, like you'd know the first this about being smooth." He retorted.
"Why wouldn't I? I'm a huge romantic after all!" You defended yourself.

"You'd mess it up."

"Oh shut up. You ruined the moment we were having." You scolded.

"(L/n), don't forget that I could literally drop you any given second." Kageyama warned.

You tightened your grip around the back of this neck. "If I go down you're going down with me."

Kageyama cracked a smile before his face returned to poker, and before you could ask him about it, we'd reached the infirmary.

Damn this timing.

The nurse took one look at your ankle and declared that you'd sprained it. You groaned in annoyance. "Just my luck." You mumbled to yourself.

She got a call and she picked up but when she'd hung up she had a rather worried look on her face. She turned to Kageyama. "You play volleyball." She blurted out to which Kageyama looked startled but he didn't say anything. "Do you know how to use this?" She was holding out a long cloth, or rather, a bandage to wrap around your foot. He nodded slowly, not understanding what the nurse was getting at.
"Great. Something urgent came up for me, please take care of her!" The nurse called before thrusting the bandage at him, grabbing her coat and keys and running out of the infirmary.

Kageyama looked dumbfounded. You simply held out your hand. "Gimme. I'll do it myself." He nodded and handed it over to you and got ready to leave when he noticed that you had no idea how to put the bandage on.

He furrowed his brows and took the bandage from your hands without saying anything and knelt down in front of you.

He looked like he was about to propose, the sight itself was laughable because Kageyama was he last person you'd expect to be proposing to someone.

(A/N: wink wink nudge nudge)

He took your injured foot in his hands and rested it on his knee and wrapped the bandage around your foot properly to stop you from hurting yourself any further.

"You really are a hopeless case aren't you?"

"Hey!" You pouted, feigning offence offence and used the leg closest to him to kick him in the chest. That leg being the injured one.

(A/N: I bet most of you have done something similar to this
Unless it's just me
Crap. Oh weLL-)

You winced in pain. "Okay maybe you're right." You mumbled, and you didn't know if it was your imagination but you thought you heard Kageyama laugh.

You looked up at him and his face was the same it's always been.

'I must be hearing things.' You sighed. 'Because I haven't been able to make him laugh in years.'
