TWICE AS FAR
EAST

I was at home with Lyra. She was crawling around. Daryl had just walked into the house. Lyra turned and looked at him

"Da-da" She spoke. My jaw dropped as I looked at Daryl. He looked at me with the same face

"Did she just-" I cut myself off. Daryl walked over and picked her up

"She said my name first" Daryl said with some pride. I rolled my eyes playfully

"Don't let it go to your head" I said

"That's right, you love me more" Daryl cooed as she giggled

"A daddy's girl, I suppose" I spoke

"Don't be jealous" Daryl said cockily. Lyra just giggled

"What's going on?" Taylor asked as she walked downstairs

"Lyra spoke her first word!" I said proud. Taylor looked away

"Oh, actually that wasn't her first.. while you were gone.. she had said her first word" Taylor admitted. I looked at her shocked

"What?! And you didn't tell me?!" I asked

"Sorry.. sorry.. I forgot" She said as she sweatdropped

"It's 'cause you were with Lee, huh? He was here, too" I said giving her a side glare.

"If it makes you feel any better.. she said momma" Taylor said. I got up from the couch as I clapped my hands. Laughing in victory

"I'm afraid she's a momma's girl, Daryl!" I said laughing. Daryl scoffed and rolled his eyes

"Man, fuck you" Daryl groaned

"Don't get all salty, Dixon" I said with a wink. Daryl walked over to me and handed me Lyra

"I just wanted to let you know, I'm going out on a supply run with Rosita and Denise" Daryl admitted. I looked at him and nodded

"Do you want me to come?" I asked

"Nah, we already got a doctor coming, plus.. I'd feel better if you were here anyways" Daryl said

"Oh, okay.. well be safe" I said with a smile

"I will be" He said

The gates opened. A smile wide on my face. They parked the car, and got out. It was Daryl, Abraham and Rosita. No Denise. They all went back in to grab something, but that something was a someone. It was Eugene, he was bleeding. I rushed over

"What happened?!" I asked frantically

"Saviors.. they got us.. Denise is dead.. you gotta help Eugene!" Rosita pleaded

"Okay, come on" I said. I led them to the infirmary. They set Eugene down. I lifted up his shirt. There was a lot of blood

"You all need to leave so I can focus" I said. I heard footsteps walk out. I began cleaning the wound. I sighed in relief. It was only a graze. I bandaged the wound and then looked at the bag they left. I opened it up. They had antibiotics which were exactly what I needed. I set them aside on the nightstand next to the bed. He would need to take them when he woke up. I walked to the door and opened it. The three of them were standing there

"He was only grazed. The antibiotics you got.. definitely will help, but he needs to wake up before he takes them" I said. Rosita and Abraham rushed in. Daryl just stood there. I noticed he had his crossbow

"Daryl.. your crossbow.." I muttered confused. Daryl shook his head as he looked at the ground. I covered my mouth

"It was him.. he killed her.. with my own arrow.. with my crossbow" Daryl muttered. I embraced him

"Daryl, I- it's not your fault" I said. He shook his head

"No, it is.. I should've killed him" He said. I just held him

We had a funeral for Denise. I was at home with Lyra. Taylor had run off somewhere. I was now Alexandria's only doctor, um so that's kinda scary but like, what do you do?

"Y/n.." A voice spoke. I turned to see Daryl looking at me

"Yes?" I asked

"I.. um.. well.. I had been thinking about this.. for a while.. now.. but the time.. it just never felt.. right.." Daryl trailed off. I looked at him confused

"What is it?" I asked

"I um.. I wasn't gonna do it.. but Denise.. she, uh.. she convinced.. me.. life is short.. so.. um.. yeah" Daryl said. I was still confused. He dug into his pocket and pulled out two rings. I covered my mouth. His entire face was coated with a blush

"I um.. fuck, this is awkward.. and I ain't no romantic type.. so yeah.. I don't know.. marry me?" He asked. I looked at him in pure shock. I then grinned

"Watch out, y'all there's another Dixon in town!" I said cheering before I engulfed Daryl into a hug. Daryl was in utter shock. I gave him a kiss which he didn't hesitate in returning. This kiss turned into a full blown make out session. It was getting steamy, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't turned on. I felt Daryl slip the ring on my finger as I smiled into the kiss. We began making our way up the stairs when I heard a coo. Me and Daryl both stopped to see Lyra who was staring straight at us with curiosity in her eyes. The mood between us drastically changed as we stared at her

"We need to find a babysitter.." I muttered

"Cockblock" Daryl said

I was with Maggie and Glenn. We were checking our stash of guns. Michonne walked over

"We'll have these, but we should hide a few. That way, we can find them, but strangers can't. In case anyone gets in" Maggie said

"They won't" Glenn said. I heard Daryl's motorcycle revving. We all turned

"Oh, no" Michonne muttered as we watched him drive to the gate

"Where is he going?" I asked. Daryl got off his motorcycle and opened the gate

"What the hell is he doing?" Glenn asked

"Something he shouldn't" Michonne said

"We gotta stop him" Glenn said. I nodded. We all rushed over as Daryl drove away. Michonne and Glenn got in a car. I went to go to but Maggie stopped me

"They've got it. Stay with me" She said

"Yeah, okay" I said. The engine started. Glenn began driving when Abraham got in front of the car. Glenn slammed on the breaks. Rosita walked over to the car. Abraham walked behind the car as Rosita got in. They then drove off. Me, Maggie and Abraham watched. Abraham then closed the gate. I decided I wouldn't tell Taylor, I didn't want to stress her. I looked at Maggie who was biting her nails. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder

"I'm expecting your husband to bring back my husband" I said. Maggie turned and looked at me with a surprised face. She then saw the ring

"Oh my God! I'm so happy for you!" She said as she hugged me. I hugged her back

"Okay, well I have to get to the infirmary. Carl's bandages need to be changed" I said

"Of course, don't let me keep you" She said with a smile. She looked nervous though. I gave her a kiss on the forehead

"They'll be back, don't worry" I whispered to her. She nodded as I walked away. I walked to the infirmary. Carl was on the bed waiting for me. I could tell he was uncomfortable. I knew he was insecure about his eye and probably didn't like that Denise couldn't change his bandage, since she's seen it already

"Now there's my favorite nephew!" I said with a smile

"I'm your.. only nephew" Carl said

"You're still my favorite" I said with a wink. He playfully rolled his eye. I walked over and grabbed some bandages along with an antiseptic. I also grabbed some cotton balls and placed them all down on the tray

"So.. you and Enid" I said with my eyebrow raised. Carl's face tinted pink

"We're not-" I cut him off

"Uh-huh.. I caught y'all, don't forget about that" I said as I slowly began taking off his bandage. His breathing quickened. I wanted to keep him calm so I found random things to talk about

"You know.. Lyra, she just said her first words the other day.. me and Daryl thought she said dad first.. but Taylor informed us that she said my name first. I knew she was a momma's girl" I said as I finished taking off the bandage. The wound was still there but it wasn't actively bleeding. It looked like it was healed itself. I was confused. The bandages weren't even bloody. He didn't even need bandages anymore

"You know.. you don't.. need to change your bandages anymore.. the wound is healed and closed" I said

"Oh, really?" He asked. I nodded

"Yeah, so I'll give you new bandages but after that, don't change them every day.. we don't have the bandages to spare for you like that" I said

"Yeah, I got it" He said. I wrapped his up

"All done! I'll see you next time, cowboy" I said with a wink as he stood up

"Thanks" He said before walking out

I was in the infirmary when I heard screaming. I rushed out and went to the source of the screaming. It was Maggie's house. When I entered Enid was beside Maggie who was crying and screaming as she held her stomach

"Something's wrong!" I said
