Daryl had been gone for a day or two now. That was how his work was, and I didn't mind. I had just dropped Judith, Lyra and RJ. I saw Ezekiel and he approached me

"Hello, Y/n" He said

"Hi, Ezekiel. I heard the surgery went well. I would've come by but Elizabeth got sick so I had to work her shifts at the pharmacy, too" I said

"Oh, no, no. It's fine. Actually, there's something I want to show you" He told me

"What is it?" I asked. He grabbed my hand

"I'll show you" He said as he led me. We had a small zoo in the Commonwealth and that's where he led me. There was a curtain that draped down to an area that had a sign that said

VETERINARY TREATMENT AREA

We walked through and it revealed people who were sick

"What is this?" I asked

"Um, I know I'm asking a lot but in your free time, do you think you could help out here. Even if you're not a doctor here, you're still our doctor" Ezekiel said. I smiled

"Of course. Yeah, I'll come by when I can. Unfortunately, I have to go meet with Eugene. But I'll definitely help out" I told Ezekiel. He smiled and hugged me. I hugged back before I left. I walked to Eugene's apartment and knocked on the door. Eugene opened it up and I saw Rosita was already inside

"You wanted to meet?" I asked as I walked

"Yeah, I'll explain when the others get here" Eugene said as he closed the door behind him. I took a seat on the couch and waited. A couple minutes later, there was another knock. Eugene opened it and it revealed Connie and Kelly. They both walked in and Eugene closed the door behind them

"Apologies for the early morning invite. This discussion isn't quite ready for public broadcast" Eugene said. Connie waved at us. Me and Rosita waved back. Connie began signing

"'Are you two okay? That message seemed urgent'" Kelly translated

"Yeah" I said

"Rosita confided in me about a heroin experience she recently encountered on the job. We thought it would be beneficial given your position as a truth telling newsperson to give you the deets" Eugene said. Kelly translated for Connie

"Alright, so, what's up?" Kelly asked

"Sebastian and some of his cronies forced Daryl and I to steal cash from an abandoned house outside the perimeter. There was a woman there. They had done this before. They had sent civilians in and none of them made it out alive. They wanted us to stay quiet, but I think about that woman, April, and what they all went through. There are good people here. They need to know the truth" Rosita said. Kelly translated. Connie began signing. Kelly pulled something out of her bag

"Someone sent us a list of names of people who were ex-troopers when they went missing. We tried to figure it out, but.. we just kept hitting dead ends" Kelly said. Connie showed something to Kelly

"April Martens. That could be her, right?" Kelly asked

"I could find out. I have access to medical records of everyone who live here. They come with photos" I said

"Let me see that" Rosita said. Kelly handed Rosita the list

"No, there are way more names on this list than Sebastian sent into that house. Maybe it's related but there's something else going on here" Rosita said. Connie began signing

"'Whatever this is, if the Milton's are involved. They'll keep it locked up. We need inside access to dig it out'" Kelly translated

"I'll take that list of names and do what I can, but if they're covering their tracks, I won't be able to find those files" I said. Eugene put his hand on his chin. He then raised his hand

"I might know someone" Eugene said

"We meet here tomorrow night?" I asked

"Yeah, let's do that" Rosita said

"I'll report what I've found" I said as Rosita handed me the paper. I then left Eugene's apartment. I ran into a Trooper. He looked at me

"I'm so sorry, forgive me. I'm kind of clumsy" I said

"It's no problem, ma'am" He said before walking around me. I continued on my way. I made my way to the Pharmacy. I walked in and the bell rung

"You were almost late" Elizabeth told me. I chuckled

"Sorry, I was celebrating my friend's anniversary" I said

"Oh, how many years?" She asked

"Three, I think" I said as I walked behind the counter. I opened up one of the drawers and began looking through the files

"What are you doing?" Elizabeth asked

"I'm still new here, and I'm trying to learn everyone's name" I said. Elizabeth nodded

"I'm gonna go take a quick smoke break, so have fun" Elizabeth said before she left. I pulled out the paper and began looking for their names.. but none of them were here. I went through the other drawers but, there was no record. It was just what I had feared. They covered it up

Though my path was a dead end, Eugene's girlfriend, Stephanie, who happened to be Pamela's assistant, helped us. She sprawled out the files onto the table as we all met. Me, Eugene, Connie, Kelly, and Magna. Connie began signing

"'Tyler Davis is on this list. And the woman who Rosita tried to help out during the heist is on here, too'" Magna translated

"I counted 200" Kelly said

"What about these numbers? They look like codes. Maybe coordinates? Stephanie asked

"So you think? This is about where they're hiding people" Magna said

"Why not write about that?" I asked. Connie shook her head

"No. Not yet" Magna said before Connie began signing again

"'I need proof. Something this big, this explosive.. We- We need a key to crack the code. U-Until we have that, I'll write about Sebastian's heist and hang it around Pamela's neck'" Magna  translated

"I mean, when everyone's finds out that she's not on their side. They're gonna question everything about this place" Kelly said as she signed. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Kelly, Connie and Eugene rushed to clean up the files but Magna stopped them

"Hey, it's okay. I thought we could use help, so I told him to come" Magna said as she signed. She opened the door and it revealed Ezekiel. He walked in and closed the door behind him

"Sorry I'm late" Ezekiel said

"I told him we needed more people to get the article out" Magna said as she signed

"And I got a whole network, ready and willing to ride at dawn" Ezekiel said. Connie began to sign

"'We're doing this?'" Magna translated. We all nodded

"Let's ride" Stephanie said

Morning came and Connie's article was everywhere. In big bold letters

PAMELA MILTON IS LYING TO YOU

We knew things were about to get really ugly, but there was one thing about us that Commonwealth didn't understand. If you fucked with us, you weren't gonna last long in this world

So this is the last chapter in the drafts. There won't be anymore posted after this. As I said in an earlier chapter, this book is too long and I have no interest in continuing it. However, I have made another Walking Dead Fic
