I have posted about this on my profile with a link and a phone number, but many of you readers don't follow, and that's fine, but as a privileged white woman, I need to use my voice and resources to reach a wider audience and explain to them that we need to use our privileged voices to do good and make the world better.

I want to get one thing straight first. If ANY of you are against the BLM movement or against the LGBTQ+ community; leave. My profile and the books I write are here to spread positivity and now, in some of our most trying times; information and awareness. I accept everyone. We are the HUMAN race, that is it, ONE race. We all bleed red, we all have good days and bad days but the one difference is that some people have to FIGHT to survive and that is not okay. Everybody deserves to live and breathe in peace, everyone deserves equality.

But now, we must use our voices for the minorities. WE, us white people quash our fellow brothers and sisters for having a different colour of skin? Why? What is the point? They deserve justice, George Floyd and his family deserve justice. We need to do better.

Protesting for justice is only the start. We need to do MORE! We need to educate our children BETTER, we need them to understand that if this continues, there will never be peace.

DR. Jane Elliot has put it best: There is no gene for racism, there is no gene for bigotry. Nobody is born a bigot or a racist, you are taught, you have to learn to be those things and anything you can learn, you can unlearn. It's time to unlearn our bigotry. We need to lead people out of ignorance; the ignorance that we are better or worse than someone else because of the amount of pigment in our skin. Pigmentation in our skin has nothing to do with intelligence or with your worth as a human being.

I'm so tired of seeing people be torn down and oppressed because of their skin. I'm tired of seeing people being hurt and killed because of their skin.

For those of you who do not think white people are privileged, you are WRONG. We do not have to wake up every morning and fear leaving our homes because of the shade of our skin. We do not have to tell our children that just because they do not have white skin, people will want to kill them. We do not have to tell officers that we are reaching for credentials just so that do not misinterpret our actions and shoot us.

We are white, and therefore we are privileged, it is that simple but it is not okay.

People are getting hurt and killed because they are peacefully protesting for their basic human rights. We need to do better. Our generation CAN do better than the last, I know we can. Please do whatever you can to support this movement and if you have any information, links, numbers ETC, please comment and spread awareness. Things like this tend to blow up and then people brush it to the side. We cannot let that happen. We will not let that happen.
