Personality: Rune is the only dragon who could ever be mistaken as two dragons standing side-by-side and have to explain that they are, in fact, one being, simply with an extra appendage. An absolute stare magnet, and receiver of shocked looks or ridiculous amounts of sugar-coated sympathy wherever he goes, Rune learned from a very young age to be impressively indifferent to other people's views and reactions towards his uncommon condition. He most definitely does not like any of those aspects, but he is a master of living with the social inconveniences that his bodily mutation brings, because if there is one word you can use to describe Rune, it is "hardy". He is a dragon of grit, determination, perseverance, stubbornness, and strength, who never gives up and never gives in to anything no matter how dark or glum the situation is. Those who do not fear him because of his appearance feel intimidated by his poised persona, and those who are not intimidated by him admire him. Despite the latter statement, though, Rune chooses to be a neutral party to all, showing politeness, kindness, generosity, humor, yet also sternness towards everyone he meets, regardless of their attitude, and refraining from labeling anyone as neither friend or foe.

Backstory: Despite common misconception, Rune was not Animus-enchanted (or cursed, depending on your view) as an egg, and he in fact has never met an Animus before in his life (well, that he is AWARE of). Rune's extra head and neck are thought to be simply the result of a twin embryo not fully separating, and developing as two dragonets from the neck up (where the embryo had successfully split), but developing as one from the neck down (where it was still connected as one). It is uncertain whether this was what truly occurred, but that is the most likely explanation. Oddly enough, though, despite the second head having a brain and oral system of its own, it does not operate as an individual and follows the neural directions of the dominant head, which is why Rune is seen as a singular dragon and not a conjoined twin. Rune lived out his childhood with his sensible Outclaw parents in the Scorpion Den, which after Thorn's rise to the Sandwing throne had become a much safer and lawful place, and at the age of three became the older sibling of a little brother called Aardvark, who he loves very deeply, and apart from his now-widowed father is the only dragon he shows open affection to. He is not searching for a partner as of yet, but as he gets older he may consider settling down and starting a family of his own.
