Matching the steps and talking about random topics, Taehyung and I entered the building...
As we reached the junction our paths diverted. With a playful nudge and a shared smile, we bid each other farewell, and made our steps echo softly against the tiled hallway as we walked towards our respective classrooms.

....At lunch break....

Scanning the bustling canteen area, my eyes lit up as I spotted Jimin in the middle of the ocean of students. With an eager wave, I waved at him over, a smile spreading across my face as he caught sight of me.

With his tray in hand, Jimin made his way through the maze of tables, his smile mirroring my own as he settled into the seat opposite me.

"Where's Emily and Taehyung???", the first question he asked as he settled down

"They are practicing.. I guess they'll join us later .."

"And here I was busy finding him" he said while taking his first bite of his meal

"????", looking at Y/N's expression Jimin continued and said "See in the previous period, I went to the washroom, and then when I came back I didnt see him ... so I messaged him, even called him but this guy didn't bother to pick up" he said with little mixed emotions of little upset and angry, which I guess it's usual between best friends .. I would have felt that way if any day Emily wouldn't notify me about her whereabouts and I am still finding her...
It would be fine ...at the end....

"Chill they might be busy ...nor he would have surely picked up.. "

"Hmmm..."

Having our meal and chatting, our conversation flowed effortlessly, soon the gloomy air was now getting replaced by laughter radiating in the air as we exchanged stories and shared moments from our day.

As we were engrossed in chatting, Taehyung and Emily joined our little gathering.. with their trays in their hands.

With a cheerful greeting, they took their seats, Taehyung sitting beside me and Emily beside Jimin ...
Sharing sweet greetings we resumed our talks ...

As the chatter and laughter continued to fill the air. I couldn't help but marvel at the bond we shared, the comfort and familiarity of our friendship, a constant source of joy and companionship. connection that bound us together in shared moments of laughter and friendship. These days we'll surely be remembered!!!

... Last period ...

"Hey Y/N, I should leave now!! before the teacher comes!..." Emily said while packing her stuffs

"Why??? Anything Emergency???" I asked

"Annio... My mom called me to come home early since we have to attend the function of our relatives, so gotta leave soon!!!"

"Ohh got it... Great then, Enjoy your evening!!" I said smiling...

...

...After a few minutes...

Huff!!! As the minutes crawled by, each tick of the clock echoing in the silence of the classroom, I couldn't help but feel boredom took over me.. With Emily absent, the vibrant energy, my companion was missing. Moreover this boring subject didn't help much ...

Glancing at my watch, the hands seemed to move at a very slow pace, seeming like it is testing my patience. Each passing second felt like an eternity ...Huff!!!

With a sigh, counting the minute hands ..
Finally!!!!mercifully!!!the shrill ring of the bell can be heard, signaling the end of the intense wait. With a sense of relief flooding through me, I gathered my belongings, ready to make a swift exit from the classroom.

But just as I was leaving, my teacher's voice cut through the air, halting me in my tracks. With a sinking feeling, I turned back to face her, resigned to yet another task assigned..Again!!!.

With a weary sigh, I accepted the small work smilingly.

Fastly completing it like a machine..
I completed the assigned work for me..
And after that I left the staff room.

As I was walking past the Principal's office, a glint of movement of someone searching for something like a thief caught my eye through the window.

Curiosity tugging at me, I edged closer, only to see Taehyung, frantically rummaging through drawers as though searching for something precious.
My heart raced as I watched him doing an illegal thing...

But my intrigue quickly turned to alarm when I glimpsed the Principal at a distance, striding in our direction. Panic gushed through me, as I realized the danger Taehyung was in.

If the Principal caught Taehyung in doing this forbidden act, consequences would surely follow.
Without a second thought, I dashed forward, determined to intervene before it was too late.

Breathless and with adrenaline running through my veins. I burst into the office, startling Taehyung.
His eyes widened in surprise, but as recognition hit him, a wave of relief washed over him.

Without a word, he gestured for me to be silent, his urgent movements resuming as he continued his search.

"Hey ..what are you doing here!!! You should leave now!!! Princ..", I was saying in one breath but he cut me off..

"I can't, I need to find my mobile ..."

"It's wrong... you shouldn't... be doing this!! You know the consequences if Sir finds out or catches you doing this!!" I said in worry

"I know ...but it's important... I can't spare it. My parents will be called up, in order to get my mobile...that's even scarier!!!"

Understanding his determined self,
I didn't argue with him, just silently joined him, scanning the room for it, our movements synchronized in a frantic search..

While searching inside the cupboard drawer beside the closed door
simultaneously while speaking "We should leave now Princ..", I finally found his phone.. I kept it in my pocket.. but my words halted when the unmistakable sound of the approaching footsteps reached my ears, my heart leaped into my throat, and my eyes widened in terror as the footsteps sound becoming louder.

Without hesitation, I turned and ran towards an unbothered engaged Taehyung who was still busy in finding it, Gosh!!! how can he be so unwary, in this type of situation, holding his hand in a desperate bid for escape. With a silent urgency, we darted towards the back of the cupboard. Squeezing into the narrow space more, we crouched down low, With the sudden change of my swift action ... Taehyung was going to speak ...

"Sshhhhhh!!!!! Sir is coming..." and with that the door opened,
our hearts are now pounding in rhythm loud enough that it could be heard in our ears with the entry of the Principal...

Our breaths are shallow and barely audible. To be literally speaking.. My heart was hammering against my ribcage, every fiber of my being urging silence and stillness as we braced ourselves for the inevitable arrival of the Principal. I have never been in this type of situation... Ohh God where I brought myself into !!! Please God help us this time ...silently praying with a fast beating heart..

Looking at Taehyung who was I guess in the same state as I was in ... sweat making its home at our forehead ...

As soon as the door opened we both held our breath, pin drop silence ...
As the Principal's footsteps drew nearer, my grip on Taehyung's hand tightened involuntarily, out of fear of being caught.

------Taehyung's pov-----

Seriously who told her to come here ... Now she'll also be in trouble with me... which I don't want her to be in. Looking at her tense face, she was so stressed out...

Despite the weight of the situation, there was something intoxicating about our shared anxiety. I am liking this closeness, smiling to myself I let her hold my hand... Why should I miss any opportunity, especially when it brings us closer together in the midst of uncertainty.🤫

But just as the presence of Sir came close, Taehyung acted with swift intuition, pulling me closer to him gently making me gasp silently. Wrapping his one arm around me and resting his palm on the cupboard surface as if shielding me from the gaze of the Principal.

Pressed against him in this small hiding place. Our face was a centimetre apart, we were squeezed in a small confined area. In that situation no one of us bothered the position we were in, the only thing that mattered was not to get caught...

In that fleeting moment, as we held our breaths and dared not to move, I knew that whatever lay ahead, we would have to face them together, because right now I am also hiding ..

Every second was like an eternity... but as soon as the sound of a door opened .. leaning slightly Taehyung saw that he went inside the bathroom...
Taehyung's keen eyes caught the opportunity moment. With a silent nod of determination, he grasped my hand firmly, his fingers intertwining with mine. Taking the chance, we dashed out of our hiding spot, our footsteps quick yet soft enough that sir don't realise it and we fled from the office.

Swiftly navigating through corridors, we emerged at the gate, our chests moving up and down and breaths ragged from our dangerous escape.

Leaning against the cold metal bars, we took a moment to catch our breath, the adrenaline still running through our veins as we exchanged a knowing glance..

"Tha...t w..as in..san..e ..." I said in between catching for breath

"Act..ual..ly it w..as ..." Taehyung said in the same way as he responded

Taking deep breaths ..and calming down ...
"Thank you Y/N ... I would have been in big trouble if you hadn't come at the right time .. thanks a lot ... But next time don't jump in to save somebody when you put yourself in danger!!"

A gentle smile tugged at my lips as I reassured him,
"Anytime, Taehyung!!" Yet, beneath, a concern lingered in my voice as I continued..

"Actually I will jump when it comes to friends" taking a pause I further continued "But please, promise me you won't put yourself in such risky situations again. We narrowly escaped this time, but it's not worth the danger."

His expression softened, a flicker of guilt crossing his features as he nodded in understanding. "I won't take such risks again. I promise. Actually a mutual promise!!"

Smiling and coming to our calm posture I asked him about him in Sir's office..

As I anticipated...
He said " Ummm don't be angry ...
First promise me then I'll say"

"Ohk I won't, go on ..." I assured him

"Ummm so I was caught using my phone while I was punished!!" he said while scratching his nape

To which I replied ,"Gosh Taehyung!! You have the guts to use the phone when you are punished and on top of that going to the office to take it ... I shouldn't have helped you !!"

"Uhh!!! You said you won't be angry .. I know ...I am at fault but you don't understand if my parents get to know ...it won't be good for me.."

"But then the Principal would obviously know after he goes to find your phone .."

"Don't worry ...he won't remember!! He already has so much work to handle, why would he waste his time on such silly things.. Moreover we have done such things earli..."
And he stopped, after realising that he has spoken something that he shouldn't have...

"Whaattt??? you have done it earlier, what do you mean by that .???"

"Umm nothing ... Did I say something...??" With that he started to walk fast ...

"Hey wait!!!" Catching him I continued "Taehyung tell me ..." while glaring at him

Huff!!! "Okay, but you won't tell anyone..even Emily shouldn't know!"
Nodding I. Response he then continued "Jimin and I have stolen a question paper ..."

"WHATTTT ... You have stolen the question paper.!!!"

"Uhhh slowly... But I swear it was only one subject... Because that tempered teacher didn't give us any suggestions.."

"So what!!! you will steal it!!! ... Did anybody know about it??"

"Umm no ... Actually we are secret keepers anyway" scratching his nape he winked at me

"God I need to process it...
...
but cameras would have recorded it", I asked while looking at him like a keen kid..

"Yeah that was an issue but when we tackled it skillfully ... And about today's ..., Principal's office doesn't have a camera .." he said while winking at me

I couldn't take the information he just gave now...
Gosh he has so much guts to do such things ...

Judging at my expression... he instantly replied "I won't do it next time I swear ... I promised you ..."
With that he held my hand and he jogged ..

Following him bewildered, I asked .. "Where are we going???"

"To have Ice cream!!!"
