Chapter 1: Introductions

Y/N enters the UA Campus, holding the registration forms and carrying a messenger bag. They were sure this was the right place, it was the only place with the name and the directions led here so they walked in with confidence. The building was huge, might be because this was meant to cater for the best of the best, which meant money might have been more than enough here. Y/N notices a gloomy figure standing at the door, pulling out his phone to check the time. Y/N sighed, resigning themselves to what may come, before walking to the shadow in the threshold.

"You're late," the figure grumbled.

Up close, Y/N noticed it to be the hero Eraserhead. They also looked down at their paper, noting the requested time of arrival and seeing on their wristwatch that they had been just a few seconds over the time. He wasn't in the mood to deal with whatever arguments would come up if he resisted so he just looked Eraserhead in the eye, before bowing his head:

"Sorry, Sir, won't happen again."

This earned him a scoff before Eraserhead gestured for him to follow. As he walked, Y/N couldn't help but notice the slight slump in his walking. Almost as if acknowledging this mental note, Eraserhead rubbed his eyes, the eyebags becoming more prominent.

"Pardon me, Mr. Eraserhead?"

"Aizawa," he corrected, turning around to see what you wanted. You noted his stubble, the bags under his eyes and the messiness of his hair. Although Y/N wasn't trained in psychiatry, he wouldn't be surprised if Aizawa suffered from the fatigue and sluggishness that came with depressive disorders. They were taught physical medicine, however, so had to rely on those areas where the mind and body merged. Y/N also realized the red veins in his eyes.

"You have dry eyes."

"A part of my quirk, it gives me horrible dry eye. I use eyedrops."

"Do you also get headaches?"

If Aizawa did get headaches, it might explain his sluggishness. Generally, Y/N knew that some people tried to cope with headaches through sleeping, sometimes taking medication which would induce drowsiness. Chronic dry eyes would also have some effect on reading and driving, so the connection for headaches is also there.

Aizawa shrugged in response, not a clear answer but somewhat affirmative in the way he looked to the side, thinking over it.

"May I?" Y/N prompted, raising your hand. Aizawa watched but simply submitted, tilting his head downwards to make it easier for them to do whatever they wanted to do. Y/N ran their fingers across the forehead and eyes of Aizawa, a small tinge of blue and green emanating from their hands. Aizawa couldn't help but notice the cool feeling that was left by their hands, something that caused him to relax but also feel more alert. His eyes felt less puffy than before, and his head seemed lighter. he opened his eyes to see Y/N looking tired as they withdrew their hand.

"Your quirk causes fatigue."

Y/N nods before shaking out the sleepiness and turning to face Aizawa.

"Don't see how that would help."

"I'm doing my residency under Recovery Girl, was sent here."

"Ah, well, come on. We don't want to be later than we already are."

Y/N couldn't help but feel annoyed at the lack of a thank you but the fatigue from the quirk started to take over so he just wanted to get the first day done.

----

Aizawa opened the door to the principle's office, gesturing for you to come through. In the room, there was a small old lady, a tall blonde man with canine features, another blonde man who Y/N identified as All-Might, another lankier blonde man, and a young blue-haired woman. Behind a table was what Y/N assumed to be the principle, who jumped down from their seat excitedly before greeting you.

"Hello and welcome to UA, you are the new nurse attendant, correct?"

"Yes, Sir," Y/N lifts out their hand which is promptly shaken by the principle.

"Welcome, welcome. Well, you've already met Mr. Aizawa, and I'm sure you've already spoken with Recovery Girl.", Y/N and Recovery Girl nod towards each other with a kind smile. Aizawa had moved and was now leaning against a wall.

"This is All-Might, you might also know him. Then this is our guidance counsellor, Hound Dog. We also have Present Mic and this is Thirteen, our search and rescue specialist." Y/N shakes hands with those present, sharing a few brief words of greeting.

"You will also meet some new heroes when you go on patrol."

There was a scoff in the room and everyone turned to Aizawa, Y/N didn't bother but instead looked over your shoulder at him.

"Mr. Aizawa?", Principle Nezu inquired.

"He used his healing quirk on me. It causes fatigue, what good will he be in a fight?"

Nezu turned to see Y/N's reaction, but they seemed unbothered, thumbing the clasp on the messenger bag.

"I believe you'll be quite surprised, Mr. Aizawa, and in order to prove to you. I propose that you and Y/N take the first shift together. We do need some help in it."

Aizawa huffed a grunt before being dismissed. he didn't bother wasting time and left the room to go, presumably to teach. That was the cue for the rest of the teachers who left after him. Y/N sighed and began to follow after Recovery Girl before being stopped by Nezu.

"Please don't fight unnecessarily."

You nodded before thanking him for the opportunity. Leaving the room, you turned down the hallway, seeing how quickly everyone had cleared out and how crowded the school would get.
