"Mr. Varian's Dad, don't take this the wrong way but what in god's name did you do that for?!" Eugene yelled. 

Quirin slumped and sat down. He looked like he was going to cry. 

"What were you thinking?! Those were children and a whole family!!!" Rapunzel yelled.

"So, you're the criminal!" Cassandra yelled.

"That's the thing, I wasn't thinking. I was blinded by rage." He said.

"What do you mean?" Rapunzel asked. 

"Huh, it was when Varian was just born. Krogan has always been twisted in many unfortunate ways. He showed up randomly at my house and wanted me to get him half the town's money. He was in our house holding my son with his claws. I refused, but then he told me I had to or else he was going to kill Varian. I had no choice, so I complied. Our town would surlily die without our money and no supplies. So, I found out where Krogan lived and me and other set a fire on his home. I've never forgot what I've done, and I've regretted it all my life. Sometimes I can still here his family's screams. Now more than ever, I regret that decision." He sighed.

Rapunzel sat next to him.

"You wanted to protect your son, right?" She asks.

"More than ever. I've always tried to protect them."

"Now he needs you to protect him again. C'mon." Rapunzel said offering him her hand.

He took and stood up.

"Uh, guys hate to break up this lovely conversation, but there's smoke coming from Corona, a lot of it." Cassandra said.
