A/n: This chapter starts off with a flashback. Just in case you are confused

Third Person's POV

Everyone watched as the Survey Corps were getting ready to leave

"They're here! The main force of the Survey Corps!"

"Commander Erwin, kill the Titans for us!"

"Look, it's Captain Levi! They say he's as strong as an entire brigade"

Levi was annoyed by the comments

"Shut up" Levi said

"Man, you're always grumpy" JJ said. Levi rolled his eyes

"If they knew how fussy you are, they wouldn't look at you with such admiration" Hange said. They approached the gate, and then watched it rise

"The Titans are right outside.. What kind of Titan will we see this time? It'd be so great if we saw an Aberrant!" Hange said

"Yes! I want to learn everything about it!" JJ said to her father

"We have two right here" Levi said. JJ glared at him

"Huh? Where?" Hange asked looking around. Levi grabbed Hange's hair and forced his head to turn so they were staring at each other

"Right here and right there" Levi said pointing at JJ

"Did someone piss in your tea this morning?" JJ asked

"Why does that brat still exist?" Levi asked himself

"Forward!" Erwin yelled

Y/n's POV

We were in the interior of Wall Rose

"Trainees, keep your equipment at hand, and stand by!"

We were sitting at a table as Connie explained to the others what happened

"And then.. We managed to get some gas, and retreat from Trost" Connie finished

"So that's what happened.. I'm sorry. I requested supplies for everyone many times, but.." Christa said. Ymir rubbed her head

"And we finally managed to get some gas, too" Ymir said

"Th-Then does that mean that everyone who isn't here.." Christa began

They were dead

"Yeah" Connie said

"Even Mikasa?" Ymir asked

"N-No.. I thought Mikasa came back with Jean and the rest" Connie said

"Is she not here?" I asked

"Jean, don't tell me Mikasa was injured" Ymir said. Jean ignored her. There was this weird look in his eyes

"Hey, what's wrong?" Connie asked. Jean looked at us before taking a drink. It didn't matter because then we heard a boom and saw a bunch of smoke

"What the fuck?" I asked

"A cannon shot?" Reiner asked

"Why only one?" Jean asked

"Look! Smoke! From inside the wall!"

Oh my God

"What's going on?"

I'd love to know

"It can't be.. A Titan's steam?" Jean asked. Reiner used his 3D Maneuver Gear to leave

"Wait!" Jean yelled. Annie and Bertholdt followed him

Where are they going?

Jean went after them and I followed. We ran across the rooftops and eventually made it. There was a Titan but it was messed up

"What is going on here?" Reiner asked

"What the fuck?" I asked as we saw the head, but there were no muscles, only bone. It was like the Titan didn't fully generate itself. The Titan moved. Shortly after it fell apart. It was hard to see what was going on because of all the smoke. Then we saw Armin come out of the smoke with his hands up

"You've finally shown your true self, monster! I'll do it! I'll give the signal!" Woermann yelled

"He is not the enemy of humanity! We are prepared to share all the information we have!" Armin yelled

Who is he?

"I'm not interested in hearing you plead for you lives! How can I believe you, when he's shown us all what he really is? If you say he's not an enemy, then prove it? If you can't, I'll be forced to eliminate the threat!" Woermann yelled

"There is no need for proof! The question isn't what we think of him!" Armin yelled

"What did you say?" Woermann asked

"I'm told that many of you saw him! Then you saw him fighting the Titans! And you saw the Titans swarm him! That means the Titans considered him food, the same way they think of us! That is the truth, no matter what we may think or believe!" Armin yelled

"Prepare to attack! Don't be fooled by their clever lies! The Titans' actions have always been beyond our understanding! It's possible they could pretend to be human, speak human languages, and try to deceive us! We can't let them get away with anything else!" Woermann yelled. The soldiers got ready to attack. Armin then saluted

"I am a soldier! I swore long ago to dedicate my life to the revival of humanity! If that pursuit were to cost me my life, I would be glad! If we use his Titan powers and the forces we still have, we could take back this town! With my final breath before my death, I shall wish for humanity's glory, and try to persuade you of his strategic value!" Armin yelled

"Shut up!" Woermann yelled as he looked at one of his comrades. He began to raise his hand but he was stopped by Commander Pyxis. They were all talking but we were too far away to hear. The smoke had cleared and it was Eren and Mikasa

I thought Eren was dead?

e were all waiting for Commander Pyxis to speak to us. All the soldiers were gathered as we waited. This plan, it could help us retake Trost

"No! I don't want to die! Let me see my family!" Daz screamed

"Hey, Daz, you're being too loud.." Marco said

"You there! I heard you! Are you saying you want to abandon your mission?"

"That's right! This is nothing but mass suicide! It's meaningless!" Daz yelled

"Have you no respect for humanity? For order? If I chose to, I could execute you this minute"

"Go ahead.. It's a hundred times better than being eaten by Titans!" Daz yelled

"Stop it, Daz!" Marco yelled

"No! Let me go! I won't go back there!" Daz screamed. I looked at Bertholdt who was on my left and then at Jean who was on my right

"Did you hear that?"

"Given the circumstances, I don't blame him.."

"Hey.. I hope someone rebels over here, too" A girl infront of us with brown hair said

"I'd at least like to choose how I die" A girl in front of us with dirty blonde hair said

"Hey!"

"I-It was a joke!" The girl with dirty blonde said. She had tears in her eyes as a man stared into her soul

"Do it.. Be loud.. And get others to go along! In the Garrison, plenty of us aren't happy, either. We'll take advantage of the chaos and leave!"

Where would you possibly go?

"Leave and go where?" Jean asked

"To see my daughter. Eventually, this wall will also fall"

"Kill me! If you're going to execute me, do it now!"

"You sure? I'll do it!"

"Attention!" Commander Pyxis belted. We all turned and stared

How the fuck does his voice carry that well?

"I shall now explain the plan to retake Trost. For this mission, our objective is to seal the hole where the gate was destroyed. Let me introduce you to the one who will seal the hole for us.. From the Trainee Corps, Eren Jaeger" Pyxis said. My eyes widened

What?!

"He is the result of a top-secret project to turn humans into Titans. He can create and control a Titan's body. He will become a Titan, pick up the giant boulder by the shattered gate, carry it over, and seal the hole. Your job will be to protect him from Titans while he moves the boulder!" Pyxis said. People thought he was crazy, and I understood why

"Lift that giant rock?"

"Is it possible? Has humanity finally learned to control the Titans?"

"You're lying! I won't put my life on the line for a plan I can't even understand! What do you think we are? We aren't.. We aren't pawns for you to sacrifice!" Daz screamed

"A human weapon?"

"He's lying!"

"He thinks we're fools!"

"He's telling us to die here, today! I'm leaving!" After that everyone began to leave

"You'll get the death penalty for this!" A soldier said

"I'll spend humanity's last hours with my family!" Daz yelled. I stayed put

"Ready to die, traitors?! I'll kill you right now!" Woermann yelled. It was all chaos

"Here is my decision!" Pyxis belted which caused everyone to shut up

"I shall pardon anyone who deserts now. Once you succumb to the Titans' fear, you can never fight them again. Those who have learned that fear should leave. And anyone wishing their parents, siblings, and loved ones to feel that fear should also leave!" Pyxis said

Yes, guilt trip them all

"Let me tell you what happened four years ago. About our attempt to retake Wall Maria. As I'm sure you're all aware, that operation was no more than the government's way of dealing with its inability to feed all of the unemployed. It was a culling. The reason no one speaks of it is because by sending them outside these cramped walls, we were able to survive within them. All of humanity, including myself, bears the weight of that sin! Because so few escaped Wall Maria, there was never any open rebellion. But what about now? If Wall Rose falls, the sacrifice will be more than just twenty percent. The territory within Wall Sina won't support even half the remaining population. If humanity falls, it won't be because we were devoured by Titans. It will be because we killed each other. We must not die even deeper within the walls. I beg of you to die right here!" Pyxis yelled

I was apart of one of the teams to lure Titans to the walls. Sasha and Daz were apart of my squad. The others I weren't really familiar with. We were on a roof top as a Titan approached

"Wait" The Titan continued to get closer

"Not yet" He said. The Titan was almost here

"A little more.." He said. The Titan was right in front of us. It was going to grab us

"Go!" He yelled. We all evacuated the roof
