Short Review

Plot:

To begin this, unfortunately, I haven't been able to get my hands on the Percy Jackson books yet, but I have seen the movies. Hence, I was very excited to start this book. Due to my inexperience in that series, I must have overlooked a lot of references, but despite that the characters' introduction had me hooked. I will probably binge-read the rest of the book on my day off.  I've read until the 6th chapter, and it's only the beginning; Lou and Summer are yet to explore the Mythology world. Therefore, the plot is yet to take off, and the hint of the upcoming adventurous flight is given through Hera's quest for Marina and the two other demigods. That's a promising start to the adventure.

Descriptions & Characters:

You write in the 1st person's 'POV' which allows the reader to feel connected to the characters easily, however, I would suggest you try to include more scenery elements, such as their surroundings, the characters' visuals, the weather, the place, etc.

So far, you've established the fact that the first two characters know each other very well. 

For example: 

"I can tell Summer is keeping her guard up. She is always like that with new people." — Lou.

"Lou is always so impatient." — Summer

The above examples are also 'telling' instead of 'showing.'  I recommend you let the characters express themselves through their actions and words so that the readers can connect to them.

After that, we have Marina, who is more experienced in the Mythology. Her character intrigued me the most, especially her introduction: Running for her life in an ancient labyrinth. She brings a heroic vibe to the book, and I'm excited to see how the story unfolds from her perspective. 

Title & Cover:

The title is quite self-explanatory and would be a catch for both Percy Jackson's fans and Greek Mythology lovers. The cover is simple and good. If you are thinking of changing the cover then I wouldn't discourage you. However, I'm not saying that it's needed.

This was 5 chapter review, as noted in the 'rewards distribution' chapter, and I'm yet to read the rest of the book, but I'm sure it's going to be a fun experience.
