Review
Plot:
The story was refreshing and intriguing. I didn't know what to expect initially, and it stayed the same way even after making it through 5-6 chapters. The mention of the cave did strike an idea of what could possibly follow the plot, but I was satisfied to find out that my prediction was wrong. I truly enjoyed being in the dark and letting the story unfold itself. However, I was equally engaged in an attempt to comprehend the characters' mindset and predict the possible upcoming turns.
P.S. Thud. Thud. Thud. (That stuck with me because the story felt like something unexpected knocking on my door on a cold winter morning.)
Characters:
Getting to know the characters was interesting. They were waltzing on my floor of conscience. Jimin's character was tricky to comprehend throughout the story, and the female lead's background was surprising given how she was portrayed as a cheerful girl bringing sweets to Jimin at the beginning of the story. (Also salute to Jimin's resistance for not shoving his fist into her face. Man, I wouldn't like anyone messing up my sleep early in the morning.) The psychopathic energy of Jimin making a comeback at certain parts of the story was enjoyable despite my morals frowning at some of his actions. The characters were true to their roles, and you avoided writing the over-the-night illogical changes.
Descriptions:
I've said this before, you are good at writing descriptions. You usually mention simple yet necessary details such as "With trembling hands, y/n reluctantly open the door for Jimin, who stormed into her home." Such small points as 'trembling hands' and 'stormed' instead of 'walked' maintain the scene's intensity. I liked the way you described a lot of scenes although I'm not going to mention all of them here.
Title & Cover:
The title was very suitable for this story, and so was the cover. It's cool that the title was mentioned several times throughout the story as a nickname for the female lead. Was there any other reason behind the title? I might have missed something. Nonetheless, for me, the color black represented the darkness of their past, and the rose represented their passion to escape misery. In addition, even the cover consisted of a black background with a glowing white font representing the character's will to emerge from the darkness that followed them.
I enjoyed reading 'Black Rose' a lot, and I didn't find anything that bothered my experience as a reader. You probably wanted feedback, but I don't think you have to change or improve anything.
I look forward to reading more of your work. All the best for future writings, author!
