PERSONALITY || Maori's cute, sweet, sees the best in everyone... and is NOT a doormat. Yeah, she may appear to be your typical shoujo manga romance protagonist-you know, the one that's annoyingly perfect and sweet? You know what I'm talking about-but once you get to know her she's anything but. Try and walk all over her or take advantage of her for your own purposes, you'll find your ankles and kneecaps destroyed before you can even try and make up some excuse. She can't stand people who do that, although it's true that Maori loves to help people. She's open, bright, cheerful, and optimistic-as well as on the studious side! When she finds a problem she is confused about (for exams or for life problems) she usually throws herself into studying and writes a loooong essay on it. Maori is easygoing and easily forgives if the person gives her a good reason/apology, and loves to meet new people as well as try out new experiences! She's constantly on the look for new things to get obsessed with. It's also pretty hard to offend her-it would appear whatever you do just rolls right off her back, unless you specifically aim for sore spots. But just because she's cheerful doesn't mean she can't be serious. If she's angry at you rest assured, she will be like a cold icy breeze from Antarctica towards you. (Like if the person she's mad at hides behind a person she isn't mad at she'll be happy but once the person pops out she'll go Arctic-breeze mode. Repeat.) Maori has developed her cheerful and optimistic personality because she believes that 'attitudes are contagious'. She loves it whenever her cheerfulness cheers others up as well. Other than that Maori is determined and passionately loyal (not to the point of clinginess, though). She'll fight tooth and nail if her friends are in danger and protect them 'till the end! And if she really wants to be friends with someone, it doesn't matter how many times she's pushed away she'll convince them to open up eventually. However, she also knows when to stop prodding and step aside so she doesn't force herself upon anything or anybody.

MINI BACKSTORY || 

Maori lived a pretty swell life. She had two parents who loved her although they were very busy most of the time, an older brother who she loved spending time with and didn't mind doing so, and a healthy amount of friends. Now, to thirteen-year-old Maori back then, the only thing missing to perfect her life was... you guessed it, love! And to her surprise she actually found it. A guy confessed to her and they started dating. They dated happily for a few weeks, before things started to go... downhill.

Maori was so overwhelmed with her new romance and so focused on trying to become the best girlfriend she could be that she started neglecting her own life. Her boyfriend was always asking her 'favors' like doing his homework, getting food, things like that-and before long Maori's grades started to fall drastically. Drastically enough that her parents would notice. She would spend most of her time on her phone texting, or out on dates, and spent a ridiculous amount of money on clothes and makeup. She even tried to change her personality for him. 

Soon she was confronted about her new bad habits by her family, who had obviously picked up on her changes. But Maori brushed it off, promising that she would start focusing on her own life more. However when she tried her boyfriend just pressured her more and more. One day after they had been dating for about three months Maori got out of class early and was happily skipping to meet up with her boyfriend... only to stumble upon her boyfriend-cheating on her with another girl. Horrified, when Maori confronted him about it, his boyfriend didn't even try to deny it-in fact, he said it was her fault she didn't try harder. Well, you can probably imagine what that did to her. She was left very traumatized and fell into depression. (She never tried to reach out to her ex again. All she knew was that he had mysteriously been beaten up and sent to the hospital... Maori later found out it was Moon that beat him up, enraged at his treatment of his little sister.) 

However, after about six months of this depression, Maori suddenly locked herself up in her room for a week and refused to come out. Of course her parents and brother were extremely worried-especially since she was still struggling-and Maori was refusing to come out except to eat. But to their extreme shock, one week later, Maori came out willingly and she had returned to the cheerful, sprightly girl she once was. It was pretty much a miracle to everyone who knew her, but Maori refused to tell anyone what exactly had happened in that week to have her return to normal so seemingly completely. She just told them with a calm smile, "I just had an epiphany and decided to act on it, that's all."

She never told anyone what exactly had happened, but later when she was feeling more emotionally stable she told Moon the real reason. While in her room, Maori did some serious thinking. Eventually, she reached a conclusion: Why should she be the only one suffering over something that she wasn't even the cause of? Why should she fall apart over a no-good cheating ***hole? She realized that her mood was influencing the people around her in a bad way, and realized that if she couldn't fix her mood, the very least she could do was lift her head up and prove to her ex that his trashiness wouldn't hold back her own happiness. Maori took pride in the fact she could cheer up others by being cheerful, and still holds to that to this very day. 

And that is where our story starts...

ARE THEY GOOD AT KEEPING SECRETS? || It actually depends on the secret. If it's a bad secret and telling it will benefit others, then she'll tell somebody for sure. But otherwise nope! Her lips are se~ealed! (however please note it is possible to  b r i b e  her into spilling... but it would take a lot of it.)

DO THEY QUICK OUT EASILY AT THE SIGHT OF BLOOD? A BODY? EVIDENCE AT A CRIME SCENE? || No, not really. Maori's usually too busy praying with tears in her eyes for the well-being of whoever's dead and their family. And when she sees blood she usually mistakes it for... really runny ketchup and gets the heck out of there before even realizing it's blood because in her opinion runny ketchup disgusts her way more than blood does. (And I quote: "Why should I be scared of blood? It's with us all the time... yes? Yes." *flipping through books*)

GIVEN THE CHANCE, WOULD THEY HURT SOMEONE? || Depends on the situation. If they've done something bad, KA-POW! She won't hesitate to get their ankles or places where it hurts. If not then not really. She's not really into that.

HOW DO THEY FEEL ABOUT YUUMA, HIBIKI, AND NAOKI? || 

Maori likes all of them! She finds them delightful to be around. She loves how Yuuma is a social butterfly and how he's like an older brother, and also gets why he feels so strongly about commitment. They have a friendly relationship. Although. They did first meet when she was just walking around happily, passed by the soccer field, waved to her older brother, and promptly got hit in the face by a soccer ball that Yuuma had hit a little too hard. She woke up in the nurse's office, a strange boy just leaning over her, and reacted normally... she punched him right in the gut. After a little bit of talking things out and some calming down, along with some explanations, they got right along as they were pretty similar in nature. She loves to make mischief with him and have (preferably reckless) adventures.

Maori knows not to push things with Hibiki. When they first met it was because she was running from her brother who was taking her to get a haircut- "I ONLY WANT MOMMA TO CUT MY HAIIRRRRR!! ONLY MOMMA! ONLY MOMMA! ONLY MOMMA-" "But Maori, you know that Mom's at a meeting and Dad's busy can't you stand one trip to the haircutters-" -and ran straight into Hibiki. Thankfully she covered it up as a 'surprise hug attack' but when she 'hugged' Hibiki she realized that 'he' had boobs. Maori didn't show any hint of surprise or anything on her face, just apologized profousely, but once she got home from the haircutters she immediately threw herself into studying up on trans people and gender identity insecurity. Three days later Hibiki found a note reading 'Be yourself! You look beautiful as a man!!! Have confidence!!! I'm cheering for you!!! -Maori ♡\^O^/' in his locker accompanied with melons and a grape soda.  So yeah, she's totally fine with Hibiki's insecurity. Although she did find it slightly strange at first, after some intense studying she realized there wasn't really any point in judging when the person themself hadn't changed or anything. She knows not to spill this to anyone and this is a secret you will pry from her dead, cold lips.

(You can tell that I like Hibiki a lot... *gives him a hug* Although I wouldn't want to change my own gender, mainly because... *heavy sweatdrop* Even just imagining what surgeries are like... *heavy shiver* It's terrifying...)

Finally, for Naoki, Maori has experienced first-hand Naoki's choice of words after accidentally dropping the classroom mouse on him whilst napping. And, of course, they rolled right off her back and the next day Naoki was pretty surprised when he found a single page apology letter... the front page covered entirely in the gigantic words "I'M SO SORRY FORGIVE ME PLEASE" and on the back side, in tiny script that was hardly readable, a list of reasons of forgiveness and reasons why she really did not mean to drop the mouse on him. After that they made up and became acquainted. Naoki's the one that got Maori into mysteries, even though she usually ends up super confused. They are good friends and she is eagerly awaiting the day when the perfect love interest for him will show up and she can S H I P them S H A M E L E S S L Y MWAHAHAHA-

WHAT TRAITS DO THEY LIKE IN A PERSON? || Maori's fine with anybody, as long as they don't possess the traits she hates or insults her friends (or anybody who didn't deserve it really). Other than that she's mainly okay with anybody unless they insult her friends or things she believes in heavily.

WHAT TRAITS DO THEY HATE IN A PERSON? || She hates those people who take advantage of her kindness or play her as the fool, just because she looks like the type that they could fool. This goes for anybody who's willing to take advantage or assume things of people based on their appearances.
