Trigger Warning: Emotional manipulation/abuse, implication of sexual offenses

slot (main or side character): side character-instructor

their stereotype: The Reckless

name: Essam Amun-Masika

nickname: Essie

*preferred name: Essam

age (16-18) for main characters / (20-40) for side characters: 28

sexuality: pansexual homoromantic

gender + pronouns: male + he/him

birthday + star sign: October 23rd + Scorpio

faceclaim: Loki Laevatein from Kamigami no Asobi (*Note: picture him with his skin less pale and more tan-light-brown.)

backup faceclaim: Ayato Sakamaki from Diobolik Lovers

*fashion sense: Kind of and kind of not. He doesn't dress like a teacher at all (if there's a teacher uniform, he doesn't wear one) and is usually seen in the outfit he's depicted in in his first faceclaim. He dresses like a teenager decades younger than his actual age is (LOL) and in particular, likes slight sweater paws and dressing like a messy school student.

birthplace: South Sinai, Egypt

nationality: Buenos Aires, Argentina (see: backstory for why the heck he's there)

*ethnicity: Egyptian (with a lot of random other ethnicities mixed in like Greek, Japanese, American, Chinese... His family is almost as crazy as he is)

skills: He is skilled at all types of combat (except perhaps being a sniper) being well-versed in almost all combat types for close combat, mid-range, etc. He is also quite sharp and has a good eye for Quirk analyzation, allowing him to quickly decide the drawbacks and advantages of a person's Quirk after a few minutes or more of observing that person or fighting them. Essam is good at adapting to the situation with his versatile quirk, and is quite the actor, being skilled in infiltration. He's okay at strategies, but can be kinda dumb at times so he usually leaves the strategies up to other people (but has no problem making his own 'changes' to the plan without alerting others first at times).

quirk name + type: Contract + Emitter/Mutant* (*please help me decide if his Quirk is more of an Emitter type or a Mutant type after reading, if you will! Thank you!)

quirk description: Basically, Essam can form and create a 'contract' with anything and anybody using himself as an in-between and yield various results as a result of that contract. At the most basic level, he can contract himself to a person and make sure they don't tell any secrets, make them tied telepathically, etc. At a medium level, he can contract himself to a person and make them unable to hurt him on a 'willpower' level, kind of like Hitoshi's mindwashing but the contractee is sometimes aware of the contract. When he does so a glowing strip of rune-like symbols will appear somewhere on him and somewhere on the contractee and will fade away; however if the contractee tries to break the contract or go against the rules of it the runes will appear and start constricting or doing something that's basically like saying "Hey miss/mister, I don't wanna hurt you but if you continue struggling things might get messy!" (There have been cases in which Essam's Quirk killed people who tried to get their way out of a contract) Only he can control, create, and lift them. However, he typically uses his Quirk on a higher level and contracts literal mythological beings (usually creatures) such as phoenixes, dragons, gods to use some of their abilities and gain new features as a side effect. He is almost always contracted with the Red Phoenix of the South (Chinese mythology) which grants him flaming wings to be used for flight, very strong pyrokinesis, and talons. He is also able to 'pick and choose' which abilities he wants to use from the heavenly being like choosing playing cards, however with heavenly beings he usually terminates the contract immediately he no longer has any need for their ability(ies) anymore since it strains him to constantly keep up contracts-especially with heavenly beings, who literally feed off of his body/spiritual energy the longer the contract is kept. An example of contracting a heavenly being is choosing Arion (a superhuman horse in Greek mythology) and being able to run as fast as Arion-that is, at least faster than sound if he tries and being able to eat gold for energy. Another is choosing the Basilisk, gaining snake scales and fangs, and being able to paralyze those he looks at in a reflective surface; also being able to kill anyone he looks at directly in the eye. However, in the Basilisk's case, he can modify the Basilisk's power into something like Aizawa's Quirk. And yet another is choosing Vulcan, roman god of fire and workmanship then being able to conjure up weapons instantly, or choosing Hypnos, greek god of sleep, to be able to lull people to sleep. Things like that.* When he's using his Quirk and he's not in a situation like combat, he typically closes his eyes briefly and in that moment he'll visualize the 'cards' in front of him, pick one, then manifest his Quirk abilities. He usually keeps at least three contracts with heavenly beings in store just in case.

***Note from me: I'm not going to list all the powers he could use, just think of it kind of like the same concept as your other AF and go wild with which heavenly beings you want to use-I won't stop you. But please note that Essam favors 'beings' like Pegasus or Medusa or a banshee etc. Also, I might add on other things I forgot later, so just be prepared for that possibility.

***Important Note: Please tell me if anything is confusing or needs to be cleared up, even writing that was kind of chaotic so yeah.

quirk advantages & disadvantages:

A- It makes him very strong! Simple as that. By using his Quirk he can essentially use any power of any heavenly thing in existence as long as he knows what he's going for, and the human concept is kind of like the tale of Balder in Norse Mythology-how his mother Frigg made everything in existence promise not to hurt Balder (except one but we'll overlook that). There are various and versatile uses for it.

D- It takes a huge toll on his body and mind; making over ten contracts at the same time will drain him considerably.

A- Most human contractors aren't aware that they're under the effect of his Quirk until they try to go against it, and he can use it on any human as long as he knows their name.

D- He must know the person he's trying to contract's full name and touch them at least once (for example this wouldn't work on Dabi unless Dabi told him his real name, because Dabi isn't his real name but he doesn't like using his real name and you can't just find his full name that easily).

A- He can contract several people at once (he can only contract three heavenly beings at once, though) like if he's teaching a class that's less than ten people he'll wait for them by the door (maybe invisible), tapping them as they go, then after the introductions and roll call he'll activate his Quirk.

D- It takes some time for his Quirk to activate properly; it takes about ten seconds (slow seconds like '1-Mississippi' etc.) for his Quirk to properly 'sink itself' into the desired human contractor; and although it's quicker with heavenly beings, sometimes he has to persuade the heavenly beings to use some of their abilities or slightly modified versions. He can't really interact with the HBs (short for heavenly beings), but if the HB is powerful enough they can sense him trying to reach them and if they want to, literally reject his Quirk. If that happens he can't use his Quirk with any HB for twenty-four hours, so he's careful.

A- There is no limit on what he can contract and result at the moment, except for his imagination and any deities that are literally fate and time.

D- The more powerful a heavenly deity, the quicker the contract dissolves and the less 'ability choices' he can choose from. For example if he chose a really powerful Titan or something with the ability to see the future, there's literally no choice but to use the clairvoyance and even then it'll probably only be really temporary-like a one-time use or something.

A- He can activate his quirk even if he's unable to move, as long as he's fulfilled the two previous conditions. (But not if he's sleeping; however the contracts will not fade even if he's sleeping. They will fade if he dies, of course)

D- In order to contract with a HB, he must know the basics on them first. If he wants to contract with say Medusa, he has to know at least the myth that surrounds her or else it won't work. Same deal with other HBs, but not necessary for humans.

***Note from me: The advantages and disadvantages are getting kind of long, so I hope that's okay for now and just tell me if you need more or if you need some elaboration on any part of his Quirk because it's pretty complicated and pretty free-form.

code name: Contress

their duty suit (sorta like a hero costume): Not very formal at all, it's basically just what he wears normally (see: first faceclaim) although does wear a 'formal-ish' shirt and pants and shoes that are made out of materials that can piece themselves back together, which is helpful if he rips through them using his Quirk.

formal dress: (me reading this: *flashbacks to Eraserhead during that interview*) A neat black blazer with red piping, white dress shirt, black tie also piped in red with a bright red ruby at the end of the tie. Black slacks and pants. His hairstyle doesn't change much.

backstory: Essam was born in South Sinai, a low-population place in Egypt. Soon after he was able to say something, his family moved to Cairo, where there were more places to provide for him. However, after moving to Cairo, his father (Quirk: Agreement-he can make somebody agree with anything he does or say just by touching them when his Quirk was active) unexpectedly just up and went away. Like, went away without any kind of explanation. His mother (Quirk: Linking-she is able to 'link' herself telepathically with up to ten people of her choosing) was convinced that it was because of Essam's unnatural appearance-his abnormally pale skin in particular (His red hair didn't manifest until his Quirk did)-but even so she wasn't willing to abandon her only attachment to her previous husband that easily, so she tolerated keeping Essam. When Essam was about four she remarried another man, but that ended after a year, the man divorcing her and leaving them just like their first father did. This time, his mother really flew into a frenzy. Devastated, his mother turned all her hopes on Essam, whose Quirk had just manifested along with his brilliant red hair. She made him work relentlessly, build his Quirk, get perfect grades, have a perfect appearance, perfect friends, build a well-respected resume and reputation-basically, she wanted to make him perfect, in hopes that once the two men that left her saw how well they turned out even after they left her and make them regret their decision. She pressured him for years, never really beating him or anything, but falling into a frenzy if Essam didn't meet up to her standards and hinging on obsessiveness. As a result, he lived a very strict and rigid childhood. He doesn't even remember ever going out with his friends-or even making a real friend for that matter-and it wore him down mentally. But despite her best efforts, they soon fell into deep debt, and were essentially dominated by richer, stronger people who would beat his mother if she didn't get the debt paid in time. Eventually, she even sold her body in order to pay off debt, and the only thing Essam felt from that time was the overwhelming feeling of guilt and utter self disappointment because he couldn't do anything to stop them. (He was thirteen-ish at the time and had not discovered the real potential of his Quirk yet) Over the years his mother kind of mellowed out as well, although that wouldn't exactly be the correct wording-as Essam later described her, "It was like she decayed, in a sense, losing all sense of any fighting spirit she may have had earlier. She simply became a shell of her previous self, as if a single breeze would blow her into ashes." When Essam turned fifteen, his mother pushed him to leave and explore the world, because she felt there was no more hope left for her, but there was at some left for him. Although uncertain, Essam left, promising her that he'd be back and destroy the people hurting them and her. Thus began his little solo journey around the world, either going on foot or just hopping-read: sneaking-onto anything. It was during that journey that he learned how to use his Quirk in more versatile ways, and how he learned a lot about fighting, survival, and other nitty-gritty things like that. He was recruited for a hero agency when he was about nineteen (he never attended school, but the agency was interested in his potential) and quickly climbed the ranks. During that time, he also fell in love with a colleague of his, Cardan, a half-russian half-south american hero-in-training (Quirk: Briars- he can generate, manipulate, and modify briars for various effects), although he didn't really register it at that time. When he was about 25 he left the agency to go back to his mom, his personality changed now, to fulfill the promise he made many years ago. But along the way, he gained her file, and was stunned to read that the reason why her second husband left her was because she was emotionally abusive and sometimes physically abusive of him. Feeling betrayed, Essam rushed to his mother, and after taking down the baddies from before, confronted her. There was an argument, some yelling, but at this point she was well aware of her wrongs so Essam just had to let it go (he watched her carefully after that, though). After that things weren't that excitable-he just continued with his life as a hero and went around everywhere doing good things. Met Cardan again, dated, and ended up with a small wedding with some close friends when they were 27. Does charity work on his days off and left his mom in a retirement home, where it's comfortable and it's all-ladies, and where she's slowly healing up, he visits her occasionally.

***Note from me: The ending is really vague and pretty awkward because I don't know how the World Hero Organization hires people, so... yeah.

personality: Essam, he's... well, to start off, he's pretty reckless. He's the type of person to just jump into a battle without a good plan just because he wants to and hates waiting, the type of person to randomly jump out of class and decide "Hey kids, let's learn about how to do parkour today!", the type of person to use his lesson plan for something else, all that good stuff. He's mostly a laid-back person, but when he finds things or people that are interesting, he will go all out. Literally, all-out, he's the kind of person to throw an impromptu class party if he sees his students or friends are down. He is also a person with unprecedented, unpredictable behavior, and has a really bad habit of making mistakes (either on accident or on purpose) and smiling an unforgiving, cheerful smile throughout it all. Essam is almost always just this chaotic storm of an innocent mass of evil, a genius in creating problems anywhere (even on the job), but also responsible and capable enough to not be kicked out immediately. He's also the type of person that always wants to know everything, even another person's problem-not because he's uncaring, in fact on the flipside while he may seem very nonchalant and even teasing about other people's feelings, he cares very much about other people and how they're doing (emotionally and physically) and will go to great lengths to protect anything that is dear to him, even if they don't want protecting. Somebody who doesn't know him well would immediately associate him with words like 'a born chaos maker', 'why can't we just get rid of him already', 'reckless bastard', and other things like that. He can't help it-because of his past, he almost always has an urge to lift the mood and be in action, even if it's carrying several prank items with him at all times or pranking someone. (He becomes a real devilish person on April 1st, merciless in his assault of pranks that somehow never lose their touch) Speaking of how his past has changed him, although he bears no hard will against his overbearing mother, he's become more guarded since then and doesn't just help any random person he sees needs help without activating his Quirk partially first. To those he cares for, he will reveal a soft, caring side that's almost like a kitten-tsundere, if that makes any sense: he acts like he doesn't care, but actually really cares and like shows that in a soft way and denies it. He has an extreme sense of responsibility and refuses to leave anyone that he cares for, even going so far as to bet his own life if it meant protecting them, and is easily burdened by guilt. However, he doesn't like people finding out about that part of him, so he hides it behind his reckless, prankster guise.

***Note from me: I may add on other things I forgot later on, be prepared for that possibility just in case.

fears: disappointing his mother, failing everyone, failing to protect the things or people he wants to protect, being at fault for something big, loneliness, ostracization, heights

reason why the organization chose them-Me: Changes it to: why he's eligible to be a teacher: Despite his reckless, kind of un-teacher-like personality, he has a fierce sense of responsibility and has a Quirk capable enough to handle students. (The moment he got the full names of everyone in the class, he contracted them to be unable to hurt him of their own free will, lol) He has also experienced a lot of 'hands-on experience' and knows what to do if he suddenly can't use his Quirk, and is quite good at analyzation of Quirks.

likes: sweet things, having fun, interesting people, freedom, being praised, hard work being recognized, pranks, finishing a mission successfully, helping people in need, charity work

dislikes: controlling people, discrimination, heroes who abuse their status to hurt innocent people, confusing things, overly complicated things (such as plans), overly salty things, poverty, his past

ok with death?: If you must, go ahead!

love interest: He's married, but go ahead if you want his husband to make an appearance!

theme song: Talked to you about it in PMs

*the bounty over them (if you choose not to fill this then i'll add my own amount): Uhhh I don't really know but like in the billions* because like there are endless uses for his Quirk that would help people, good or bad. (*Can you help me decide which number in the billions?)

mixtape (basically their playlist): Meteor Shower by cavetown, literally because I listened to it on repeat whilst burning through his form, other than that I humbly as for your advice T T'

quotes:

"C'mon kids, it ain't no fun if you don't struggle a bit!"

"That was a trick, so~rry~!" *dashes away cackling*

"How can you see the poor as inferior, when they are using everything in themselves to even live? That stubborn desire to keep on persisting is beautiful to me."

"Want some candy? I can't guarantee if it'll be real or not, though!"

"You will listen to me this very instant or I will not hesitate to get some teleportation power and teleport you into space." (he can, though, depending on which HB he chooses)

"No. No. NO, I DON'T WANNA DO THIS HARD WORK, GIVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE."

"Hmm.... Sounds boring, count me out~."

*aesthetics- To be filled in!

*trivia:

Always carries candy on him, some are real candies but some are NOT (the fake ones will release a mini-explosion of multicolored powder when opened); has a bad habit of giving them randomly out to anyone and everyone and delighting in the chaos it causes from the shadows.

Although he's quite lazy, he has a good knowledge about blacksmithing and although he can't make a gun to save his life, anything else goes and is particularly good at thinking up of new (and often mean) variations or add-ons to weapons. Occasionally consulted by the support item team (As you may expect, gets along well with Mei Hatsume when they do meet).

Can lose and gain interest in a split second, often confusing those around him.

Dislikes the cold and dreary with a passion (winter being his least preferred season, despite how beautiful it is) and is almost always the first to light up a room with his Quirk or something else akin to that.

Fond of large gatherings, but can get irked easily if it's too big and extravagant (dislikes fancy parties).

Dislikes having to make difficult decisions; it's a good way to put pressure on him and stress him out.
