Third Person P.O.V
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย (Y/n) felt her heart thump in her chest.
Her face pale and brain swarming with thoughts as she tried to swallow the lump in her throat.
How was she supposed to process this?
Just what seemed like yesterday she was at a cabin with her mom and now she's in a strange camp where her dad happens to be the sun god.
How do you even comprehend something like that?
Percy seemed to pick up on (Y/n)'s distress, quickly approaching his best friend and placing a comforting hand on her shoulder that seemed to bring her back to reality.
"It'll be alright, (Y/n), just breathe," Chiron said to the girl before he seemed to wave someone over.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย A tall boy came running over at Chiron's gesture, before coming to a full stop next to him.
This boy was tall and looked about 17 years old, with shaggy blonde hair and greenish blue eyes looking down at the young girl.
"(Y/n), this is Lee Fletcher, he is also a child of Apollo, which would make him your half-brother, he should help you get accustomed," Chiron informed the girl which seemed to make her more confused and overwhelmed.
But she was still clear-headed enough to swallow those emotions down.
"Hey, kid, what's your name?" Lee came over, putting a hand on her shoulder and giving her a small smile which seemed to give (Y/n) some comfort.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย "I'm (Y/n)," she muttered out to the boy, him ruffling her hair in response.
"Well, (Y/n), let's get you settled into cabin 7 and get introduced to our other siblings," he told her.
"Other siblings?" (Y/n) repeated.
"Yeah, other than the Hermes cabin we've got the 2nd cabin with the most kids," Lee shrugged, before leading the girl away, not before she gave Percy and Chiron one last look.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
....
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย "This is the Apollo cabin?" (Y/n) asked in shock.
The cabin itself was made of white marble and seemed to have a golden shine due to the gold lacing on the cabin.
"Yeah, but don't worry, you get used to it."
Lee playfully tapped the girl's arm as he started to lead her inside, (Y/n) catching a glance of a little girl tending the fire in camp before she went into the cabin where a few other kids laid on their bunks doing their own thing.
"(Y/n), welcome to cabin 7," Lee said with a smile as the other kids finally noticed their presence.
ย ย ย ย ย The kids seemed to smile at her presence most were younger than her but a few older faces were seen too.
But Will seemed to be the most excited by the girl's presence, talking her ear off a hundred miles a minute.
Micheal and Kayla welcomed her with open arms and showed her to the bunk she would be using and even sent Austin to get her some toiletries.
ย ย ย ย ย ย (Y/n) sat on her new bunk which was the bottom one, fiddling with her bracelet her mom gave her before she was killed by the minotaur.
"Hey, looks like Dad gave you your first present," Lee sat by the younger girl as he pointed at the bracelet.
"I guess? My mom gave it to me and told me that- uh- dad wanted me to have it before she...." (Y/n) trailed off, looking slightly distressed.
Lee gave her a small sympathetic smile and put an arm around her shoulder, "try pressing the sun on the bracelet."
(Y/n) looked at him with confusion written on her face, only getting a wink in response.
She may have only known Lee for 30 minutes or so but she felt like she could trust him, he was her half- sibling after all.
ย ย ย ย ย ย (Y/n) gently tapped the sun on the bracelet, making it glow a slight orange yellow.
The bracelet quickly shifted, and seemingly like magic, turned into a bow that was now in her hand.
"Wow..."
"Cool, right?" Lee asked with a knowing smile, "dad usually gets us a present like this or something more practical, he gave me sonic arrows."
"You've...you've met him before?"
"Yeah, once or twice," he shrugged, "but you don't need to worry about that right now. Look I now being here is scary and new and I can tell you don't really believe what's happening but if you ever need to talk to someone I'm happy to help, little sis."
(Y/n) slowly smiled and gave the boy a nod with an endearing look, he seemed to understand how she was feeling and she was happy about that.
....
ย ย ย ย ย ย Lee had to leave to teach an archery class, and promised to teach (Y/n) to use her bow later and told her to explore camp.
(Y/n) herself was now in a pair of shorts and a camp half-blood shirt the other kids were sporting as she walked around the camp.
She took in all the sights around her with a small smile.
Looking at the 12 cabins, feeling the soft breeze blow through her hair. (if this doesn't apply to you feel free to ignore it โบ๏ธ) ย ย
She watched as campers rode on the backs of winged horses, but was distracted by something or more accurately, someone.
ย ย ย ย ย (Y/n) made eye contact with Andrew, who had looked up from the book he was reading.
(Y/n) slowly walked over to the boy, a bit nervous for reasons she didn't know but she still forced herself forward.
"Hi, uh, Andrew, right?" (Y/n) awkwardly tried to start a conversation, feeling nervous under the boy's intelligent storm gray eyes.
Andrew raised a brow at her attempt but gave a small nod.
"I-I just wanted to-thank you for taking care of me and my friend."
ย ย ย ย ย Andrew seemed to study her but he suddenly closed his book, "don't mention it, so Yan told me you were claimed by Apollo?" He asked.
"Uh, yeah, I guess-I mean I don't really believe in all this Greek god stuff but it's hard to deny things," (Y/n) stumbled over her words.
"Most people don't but the longer you stay here, the easier it will be to transition," he told her, making her smile in assurance as she fiddled with her bracelet.
Their conversation was soon interrupted when Chiron approached them with Percy following close beside him.
When Percy arrived, Andrew seemed to analyze him critically, like he was thinking about how much Percy drooled.
ย ย ย ย ย "Andrew," Chiron said, "I have a masters' archery class at noon, would you take Percy and (Y/n) from here?"
"Yes, sir."
"Cabin 11," Chiron told Percy, motioning towards the doorway, "make yourself at home."
Out of all the cabins in camp, cabin 11 seemed to be the most summer camp like out of all of them.
The threshold seemed to be worn down and the brown paint seemed to be peeling.
Over the door was one of those doctor's symbols, a winged pole with two snakes wrapped around it, a caduceus, (Y/n) believed it was called.
ย ย ย ย ย ย The inside of the cabin was packed with more kids than there were bunks.
Sleeping bags were littered on the floor, it looked absolutely chaotic.
(Y/n) felt a bit relieved she wouldn't be staying there.
Chiron didn't go in since the doorway was too low for him, but when the kids saw him the all stood and bowed to him in respect.
"Well, then," Chiron said, "good luck, you two, I'll see you at dinner."
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Percy and (Y/n) stood in the doorway, looking at the kids.
They were no longer bowing and were staring at the two but mostly at Percy.
"Well?" Andrew prompted, "go on."
Naturally, Percy tripped coming in the door, (Y/n) catching his arm to steady him, as some kids snicker.
"Percy Jackson, meet cabin 11," Andrew announced.
ย ย ย ย ย "Regular or undetermined?" Somebody asked.
Neither Percy or (Y/n) knew what to say but apparently Andrew did, since he answered with, "undetermined."
Everybody groaned, but a tall blond boy stood and came forward.
"Now, now, campers, that's what we're here for, welcome Percy, there's a spot on the floor over there for you."
The guy looked about nineteen years old, he was tall and muscular, with short-cropped sandy hair and a friendly smile.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย He wore an orange tank top, cutoffs, sandals, and a leather necklace with five different-colored clay beads.
The only thing (Y/n) found unsettling, was the long thick scar over his eye.
"This is Luke," Andrew said, his voice holding admiration for the older boy.
"He's your counselor for now."
"For now?"
"Your undetermined," Luke explained patiently to Percy.
ย ย ย ย ย ย "They don't know what cabin to put you in, so you're here, cabin 11 takes all newcomers, all visitors, naturally we would, Hermes, our patron is the god of travelers."
"How long will I be here?"
"Until your determined," Luke shrugged.
"How long will that take?" Percy asked which made all the campers laugh and (Y/n) cringed a little.
"Come on," Andrew said, "I'll show you guys the volleyball court."
"We've already seen it."
ย ย ย ย ย "Come on," he grabbed Percy's wrist and motioned for (Y/n) to follow, which she did.
When they were a few feet away, Andrew said, "you have to do better than that, Jackson, (Y/n)'s already ahead of you in that department."
"What?" Percy asked in disbelief.
He rolled his eyes and mumbled under her breath, "I can't believe I thought you were the one."
ย ย ย ย "What's your problem?" Percy was obviously getting a bit angry now, "All I know is that we killed some bull dude-"
"Don't talk like that!" Andrew snapped at him, "you know how many kids at this camp wish they'd have your guys chance?"
"To get killed?" (Y/n) finally spoke up, a bit confused at the boy's anger.
Andrew still looked annoyed but softened a little at her words, "to fight the minotaur, what do you think we train for?"
(Y/n) shook her head, "look if the thing we killed was the minotaur from the stories..."
"Yes." Andrew instantly said.
"Then there's only one."
"Yes."
ย ย ย ย "And he died, like, a gajillion years ago, right? Theseus killed him in labyrinth, so..." Percy started.
"Monsters don't die, Percy, they can be killed but don't die."
"Ok, thanks, that clears that up."
"They don't have souls like we do, you can dispel them for a while, maybe for even a whole life time if your lucky, but they are primal forces, Chiron calls them arche- types, eventually, they reform."
Percy thought about Mrs. Dodds, "you mean if I killed one with a sword-"
"The Fur...I mean, your math teacher, that's right, she's still out there, you both just made her really really mad."
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย "How did you know about Mrs. Dodds?" Percy asked.
"You talk in your sleep."
"You almost called her something, a Fury? They're Hades' torturers, right?" (Y/n) asked him.
Andrew shot a quick nervous glance towards the girl, " you shouldn't call them by name, even here, we call them the Kindly Ones, if we have to speak of them at all," he warned.
Percy started to complain about everything in a very whiny way, (Y/n) only trying to wrap her head around them.
ย ย ย ย Suddenly, the topic of cabins came up and Andrew explained that their dads' were godly which (Y/n) already kinda knew even though she was still kinda in denial.
They continued to argue back and forth with each other as (Y/n) watchedย until Percy snapped at Andrew, "you don't know anything about us."
"No?" He raised his brow, "I bet you guys moved around from school to school, I bet you were both kicked out a lot of them."
"How?-" Percy started.
"Diagnosed with dyslexia and probably ADHD too."
ย ย ย ย Percy tried to swallow his embarrassment and (Y/n) kept looking at Andrew with shock.
"You sound like....you've been through the same thing?" (Y/n) said in a soft tone.
"Most of the kids here have, you're not like other kids, you two, your half-bloods."
(Y/n) was reeling with so many questions as was Percy, before a husky voice yelled, "well! Two newbies!"
They looked over to see a big girl from the ugly red cabin sauntering towards them.
She had three other girls following in her trail, looking big and mean and wearing camo.
ย ย ย ย ย ย "Clarisse," Andrew groaned, "why don't you go polish your spear or something?"
"Sure, Mr. Prince," the girl, Clarisse said, "so I can run it through you Friday night."
"Erre es korakas!" Andrew said, which (Y/n) seemed to understand was Greek for 'go to the crows!' "You don't stand a chance!"
"We'll pulverize you," Clarisse told him, though (Y/n) thought it was a bit of an empty threat.
"Who's the runts?" Clarisse turned to both Percy and (Y/n).
"Guys, meet Clarisse," Andrew started, "daughter of Ares."
"Like....the war god?" Percy blinked.
ย ย ย ย ย ย "You got a problem with that?" Clarisse sneered.
"No," (Y/n) jumped into the conversation with a straight face, "it explains the bad smell."
Clarisse growled, "we have an initiation ceremony for newbies, Prissy! (W/n)!"
"It's Percy and (Y/n)," Percy corrected.
"Whatever, come on, I'll show you."
"Clarisse-" Andrew tried to say
"Stay out of this, wise guy."
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Andrew looked pained, but he did stay out of it.
Percy handed Andrew the minotaur horn as he got ready to fight, (Y/n) doing the same, but before they knew it they were both grabbed by Clarisse and her friends.
They tried to get themselves away by kicking and punching but it was no use, Clarisse was a lot stronger than two twelve year old kids.
They were dragged into the girls' bathroom were they toilets were lined up.
Clarisse continued to tease them while her lackies laughed at what she was saying.
ย ย ย ย Andrew watched through his fingers with a grimace as Clarisse and one of her friends held down (Y/n) and Percy.
(Y/n) looked down at the scummy toilet water, doing all she can to fight.
Then it happened like a flash, (Y/n) and Percy were sprawled on the bathroom floor.
The toilets were exploding, the force pushing Clarisse and her friends around until they were out the door.
ย ย ย The water stopped but the bathroom was flooded, and Andrew hadn't been spared.
He was dripping wet, but he hadn't been thrown out like Clarisse and her friends had.
(Y/n) looked around and realized she (if you have different pronouns you may change and ignore this) and Percy were the only ones in the room who were dry.
Percy stood up, helping (Y/n) as he did.
"How did you...." Andrew said.
"I don't know," Percy said.
ย ย ย ย ย They quickly walked outside where Clarisse and her friends lay on the ground, she looked furious.
"You are dead, new kids! Your totally dead!" She yelled.
"You want to gargle toilet water again, Clarisse? Then close your mouth," Percy said, (Y/n) snorted as she tried to hide her laugh.
Her friends had to carry her away to cabin 5 as the girl fumed.
Andrew stared at the two and (Y/n) couldn't tell whether he was just grossed out or annoyed at them for the incident.
ย ย ย ย "What?" (Y/n) asked, "what are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking," he started, a serious look on his face, "that I want you both on my team for capture the flag."
