Crickets filled the area- making a distinct noise, somewhat distracting Toby as he and Y/C searched the house for the victim they'd been sent to kill. What was confusing them was that the person had been in the house minutes before, so, why weren't they now?
A creak could be heard from the kitchen, causing them both to head over to said room, quietly rushing down the stairs.
Toby's eyes widened, silently motioning to the room at the end of the hall, both quietly rushing to the room, ready to go in for the kill.
Scenario 1
Toby entered the room first- sneaking up to the victim, and getting ready to kill them- however, when he pulled the person back, a mannequin fell over, revealing that it was never the person they were looking for.
Toby spun around, a bemused look on his face. His eyes quickly widened, however, when he saw who they were looking for- having managed to sneak up behind him. They immediately plunged a stake into his chest, before looking to Y/C with a scared expression, before dashing off.
Scenario 2
Toby entered the room first- sneaking up to the victim, and getting ready to kill them- however, when he pulled the person back, a mannequin fell over, revealing that it was never the person they were looking for.
Toby spun around, a bemused look on his face. His eyes quickly widened, however, when he saw a demon stood behind him- a Djinn, to be specific.
Djinns were powerful creatures, able to read key parts of people's minds almost instantly, and use it against them, in the form of wishes- however, it isn't as pleasant as it sounds, it gets worse.
They can either grant you a wish, being able to manipulate and twist your words, or, they can send you into a coma-like state, caught up in your own dream world, your perfect world.
If a Djinn is killed, before everyone can get out of the coma- that they'd put them in- then, the people under that magic, die too- it would be impossible for them to get out.
For someone to escape a Djinn's 'dream world', they need to be able to realize that something isn't right, that, the world they so desperately crave, isn't their own, even if it feels right, and, that they'd want to leave.
Toby went to back up, but, instead, hit the table, behind him, yelping as he looked behind him, his focus no longer on the threat.
In that split second, the Djinn had raised it's hand, their veins and eyes glowing a bright, neon, light blue, as they placed their middle and index finger on Toby's forehead.
His head spun around, a scared and shocked look filling his features, before he almost immediately collapsed to the ground.
