Sid observed his knew founded friend with furrowed brows, a blank yet attentive expression as she spoke with her brother on her phone, noting how her expression shifted from to annoyed to shocked. The blonde haired Salvatore, propped his elbows on the bonnet of the race car. After discussing their shared hatred for Elena Gilbert, and her gang of idiots. They begun to share their hobbies, interests and life experiences with one another, when Rebekah's phone rang. Sidney had discovered that the original sister, liked to shop and was quite the romantic, and she was an advocate for the freedom of women, - something he quite agreed with. In turn, Rebekah found that the youngest Salvatore was a thrill seeker, a lover of vehicles - racing cars and was a little bit of a spiv - very much quite the spiv. However, little did she - or anyone of Mystic Fall, or even Damon and Stefan knew - that was only the icy surface of the mystery which was Sidney and Matthew Salvatore.
Sidney knew - held an educated assumption that everybody feared his father, - not that he blamed them. Afterall, Matthew had been good friends with David Stirling and Paddy Mayne themselves, and had been Stirling's third-in-command and later Mayne's second-in-command. Both he and Sidney himself had been in one of the world's most infamous army regiments ; the SAS. Also, they'd done their fair share of damage during their lives. The second world war held both a happy but horrible memories for his father, more so than Sidney, himself. The war was the reason why Matthew was so determined to survive, and regarded everybody - aside from his son - as the enemy most of the time, - it was a habit he'd observed from Paddy, and had taken on. Also, it was the root of his hatred for the Germans. Even as the world moved on, and slowly forgave Germany. Matthew never did. He just couldn't forgive them for what they did to him. Not only had they taken his comrades from him, broken his friend, they changed him. Body and mind.
Sidney could remember the times when he heard his father get up in the middle of the night, and peer into his room from a crack of the door, before retreating down stairs, to drink himself to sleep. He remembered the first time Matthew got into a fight with a supernatural creature for the first time since the war. The strength, the speed and the enchanced healing, it was far greater than a nine hundred year old vampire, despite Matthew being only a hundred and eighty-one years old. Perhaps that was why, he'd become so overprotective of his father. He knew his father had an very reckless temper, like his uncle Damon, but he hid it under a calculated and reserved persona. Sidney attempted to follow his father's example, and only allow his temper and bloodlust to rule him only when his current circumstances deemed fit. However, like Damon, he had very little control - well he thought so. The young Salvatore shook himself, dragging his focus to the present "What's wrong?"
"Elijah's trapped Elena in the caves we used to used to hid in as children." Rebekah announced, causing his frown to deepen, his eyebrows furrowing "Apparently, he's on his way to negotiate the terms of her release with Damon and Stefan.''
Sidney snored with amusement, raising his eyebrows to his hairline with a sarcastic smirk "Like those two would be sensible about such a negotiation, he won't get very far with whatever goal he's reaching for. He should being seeking dad, he would set him straight and everybody will be happy."
"That's what I said." she sighed defeatedly, she knew first-hand how Matthew was the better Salvatore to speak to, regarding a matter such as the one they were in. Sidney furrowed an eyebrow, she really did fancy his dad, didn't she? She turned to him, smirking delightedly "What do say Sid? Wanna join me and terrorize Elena?"
His father had forbad him from taking a side in the war against Klaus, and he did intent to keep his word. However, this concerned Elena Gilbert - the doppelganger toying with his uncles. Also, Klaus wasn't the instigator ; Elijah was. So, in conclusion, Sidney wasn't breaking his promise to his father. A smirk slipped on to his lips, a crazed shine flashed in his eyes like a bolt of lightening. The SAS soldier inside him woke up, and the hunger for a fight lit up. "Count me in, Bex."
The original sister's smirk broadened, but she hadn't missed the change that silently but abruptly occurred in the baby vampire in front of her.
________
A brunette vampire sped into the parlor of the Salvatore Boarding House, stopping a stance behind one of the three Salvatore brothers. A intrigued yet determined expression took hold of his face. His sister had advised it be wise of him to seek out the eldest of the three baby vampiric brothers, telling him it would be easier and birth quicker results. He decided that since not only did Rebekah, but also Klaus liked the elder Salvatore better, and openly praised him, he took his sister's advise. The inky haired vampire's head raised the moment he arrived, becoming defensive. He turned to him. He wore a dark dress trousers with a black button up shirt. His icy blue eyes darkened, there was a change in them, "Matthew." the visitor greeted, formally.
"Elijah." Matthew returned aloof. Elijah's eyes narrowed in curiosity, there was something in his eyes - rage. However, it was different to Klaus', it was reserved, observing. Like animal waiting for it's master to give the word to attack. There was a animalistic rage in his eyes, yet it hadn't been present at the ball, when they first encountered one another. Matthew shifted, swaying into a poised position, he blinked, raising his head, lifting a eyebrow "What have they done now?"
An amused yet understanding smirk twitched at Elijah's lips, eyes shining "Oh, it's no completely about Damon and Stefan." Matthew furrowed an eyebrow, unconvinced, not moving as he stepped towards him "I've been led to believe, it is you, I should come to regarding the terms of the lovely Elena's release."
"Elena is of no concern to me." Matthew shook his head "I would gladly cheer Klaus on, if he were ever come to kill her off. Hell, I'd either help or do it for him. Your business is not with me. Whoever referred you to me, is greatly incorrect."
"My sister seems to believe I'd have better luck negotiating with you." Elijah stated, observing how the night-sky haired vampire chuckled slightly, a slyly amused yet flattered smile flashed over his face at the mention of Rebekah, he threw a glance at the fire briefly before holding his gaze once more, "Despite your standing on your brothers'...situation."
Matthew sighed, before he shook his head, rolling his eyes. His gaze settled on the suited original "I suppose you should take a seat."
________
"Going some where?" Rebekah remarked drily at Elena, who gasped, wide eyed like a deer in headlights.
She bowed her head, frowning, panting out "What are you doing here?"
"Nothing much. Unless you try to run." she smirked sinisterly "In which case we get to kill you."
Elena's eyebrows furrowed, confusion swirled in her eyes "We?"
Rebekah bared her teeth in a grin, as sudden wind picked up. Blonde hair flashed past them. Halting behind the distressed doppelganger "Hello, Elena."
The Gilbert girl gulpped, spinning around and frowned at the menacing looking dark blonde male vampire "Sidney?"
________
Elijah set forward his plan and his requirements to Matthew, who listened attentively, emotionless. Elijah was correct in assuming the eldest Salvatore and his son - as he discovered - were also in the dark about his mother's desires to kill him and his siblings. Elijah had for a moment considered his sister advise, comparing alongside the memory of his first encounter with Matthew Salvatore. He had apologised on behalf of his brothers for their behaviour, and appeared to have little interest in waging war against the Mikaelson family. He found Matthew was indeed the better choice to go for. He was sensible and cared for the safety and survival of his family, something Elijah admired. He observed the vampire opposite him curiously, he held his chin in his hand and had his eyes trained on the floor. Matthew lifted his gaze, meeting his eyes "Call my brothers, tell them of Elena's condition, and that they have ex-amount of time until your sister kills her."
Elijah's eyebrows furrowed, eyes narrowing "And yourself, I don't have your answer yet."
"You do. I'll find Esther, and cut off her power supply."
Elijah's jaw dropped, shocked. He composed himself, quickly. Standing up with Matthew, who stared at him blankly, before turning from him. Walking towards the coat rack, taking a dark navy blue wool coat off it. Elijah licked his lips, blinking "Matthew," the Salvatore turned his head, glancing over his shoulder "thank you."
Matthew stared at him motionless and monotonous before leaving. Elijah furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. There was something about Matthew Salvatore he couldn't quite put his finger on. However, he was certain about one thing, like Klaus and Rebekah, Elijah found that, he rather liked him.
________
"This isn't my fault." Elena shook her head, her tone of voice quiet as she spoke carefully. Together, Rebekah and Sidney had chased the doppelganger all over the tunnels into the cave where no vampire could step foot in. The original sister was recording her as Sidney had vanished into nowhere. Elena trembled, it was no secret that Sidney hated her and most possibly wanted her dead, and that Matthew held very little regard for her. "I wanted to get rid of Klaus. At some point, so did you. I didn't know your mom was planning on killing all of you."
Anger burned through Rebekah's veins, she glared "Do you think I want to spend what could be the last few hours of my life having idle chitchat with the girl who literally stabbed me in the back?" she sneered "Of course not! But for some reason everybody seems to want to bend over backwards to save your life, which is incredibly annoying, but makes you the perfect hostage. So why don't you sit down, and shut up. Before I ruin everything by ripping your head off."
Elena wasn't sure what exactly caused Rebekah to suddenly fall down temporally dead, but she took the opportunity, and ran for her life. However, she didn't get far, until she heard a gun being cocked. She froze, staring wide eyed at Sidney who held a Bren gun aimed towards her, a crazed look in his eyes, he growled "Where the hell do you think you're going?"
________
Bonnie's mother was undead. Elena was safe, yet Damon and Stefan attempted another attack on the remaining originals. Which was why, the Salvatore and Mikaelson siblings were now glaring at each across the room. The flight had been broken up by Matthew, who had swooped in and tore his brothers away. Klaus took a step forward, going to attack but Matthew step in his way with an unsettling "My brothers have something they need to say to you, all of you." He turned his head, glaring at his brothers "Don't you?" He remarked.
Elijah narrowed his eyes, paying close attention. Kol raised his eyebrows, noting how the elder Salvatore was acting. Klaus did too, cautiously. Rebekah gapped. It was unreal. The control over his siblings Matthew had, and his demeanour was so contrasting to the one she had witnessed during her stay at the Salvatore household. Damon and Stefan grumbled out their apologies. Causing Matthew to turn his gaze back to the originals, he looked towards Elijah. It was like two leaders of opposing teams, sharing a look. Matthew then wordless stepped away, leaving the room and the Mikaelson household. Leaving behind a bunched of annoyed and baffled creatures.
