Taehyung's pov

I woke up feeling the warm embrace of another person. Our legs were a tangled mess, and I could feel the olders heartbeat against my chest.

I examined his face admiring every detail. My eyes landed on his plump lips. I quickly stole a kiss from the sleeping boy. He began to stir opening his eyes.

"Good morning TaeTae." His voice was barely above a whisper. He snuggled into my neck. "We should probably get up, huh?"

I inhaled deeply and cradled Jimin in my arms, picking him up out of the bed and sitting him on my lap. "What about her?" Jimin looked at me. "Who?" I ask. "The woman next door."

"Oh! Nari! She's a...friend?" Jimin had a questionable look on his face. "You don't sound so sure." I pecked his lips.

"She drove me here from Daegu" I held onto Jimin's smol hands tracing circles in his palm with my finger. I watched his eyebrows shoot up instantly at the mention of Daegu. "What were you doing in Daegu?"

I inhaled sharply before replying. "Jimin, my father kidnapped me." His eyes widened. "Why would you father kidnap his own son? And I thought he died.." I pulled Jimin tighter. "Don't think too much about it. I'm just glad to be back."

We got up and Jimin went home while I stayed back to talk with Nari. I knocked on the door. It swung open revealing a tired looking Nari. Her face was pale, and her posture was slightly slumping.

"You're going home with Jimin I assume." She let out a dry chuckle. I looked away and nodded. "Guess you won't be needing me anymore than." I looked her in the eye. I'd never seen her like this. She looked so sad and vulnerable.

"Yeah, uh...thanks for everything." She nodded. "Well, I guess this is goodbye." Nari sighed as I turned my heel to leave. "Taehyung! Wait!" I turned back around. She didn't look like the brave, cocky woman I drove here with. She looked desperate and afraid.

I looked at her expectantly, and our eyes locked before she opened her mouth to speak again. "Do you really not remember me?" I blinked repeatedly. Remember you? "Uh..should I?" She rolled her eyes and shook her head. Before I could stop her, she grabbed my face and kissed me.

I was in such a state of shock that I couldn't do anything. "Choi Nari. Your first kiss. Your first girlfriend" I widened my eyes. "Ohmy- Nari?!" She rolled her eyes again, sighing. "It doesn't really matter anymore. You have Jimin. I wish the best to both of you." She almost closed the door, but my foot slid in the open gap.

"Wait, how did you find me at the gas station?" Guilt grew on her face like it was slowly eating her alive. I noticed something in her eyes I'd never seen before. Regret. Like she regretted having secrets and doing things she probably shouldn't have.

"I'm sorry Taehyung. I work for your father. You know the eoman you encountered while you were kidnapped? That's my sister. Anyways, I was supposed to kill you at the gas station, but I couldn't do it. I'm not supposed to tell you any of this. You should probably leave actually."

"No! I can't leave you here! What if they come after you?" Sadness engulfed her face. "Oh, I'm counting on it." I look at her in shock. "You're just gonna let them kill you?" She didn't look up almost as if she was embarrassed. "Nari, you can't just give up now." I held onto her wrist.

"Nari?"

"Nari!" She collapsed in my arms. In the back of her head was a hole with blood leaking from it. "Nari! Nari! Are you okay?! I promise I'll get you to a hospital!" Her eyes fluttered open and closed.

I pulled one arm over my shoulder and dragged her to her bed gently setting her down. I spotted a figure sitting in the window.

"Hello son. You've brought me great fortune with those diamonds." He held up his hands showing off expensive looking accessories.

"What did you do to Nari?!" I walked closer getting my fist ready to throw a punch. "Ah, ah, ah. I wouldn't do that if I were you." He pointed his handgun at me.

"Fine, what do you want?" His eyes sparkled for a moment. "Let's go up to the roof for a moment. Why don't we?"

After reaching the top, we stood in silence. "Jump." My eyes widened in disbelief. "What? You really trying I'm just gonna jump?" He walked closer, and closer making the gap between us smaller. I started backing up due to the closeness until I realized I was almost at the edge. "Do you want me to do the honors?"

My heart was beating to quickly I thought it was going to burst. I had to do something. Anything. Then, I remembered a trick that he taught me years ago. Duck , kick, twist. I ducked at fast as I could, and stuck out my left leg kicking it in the direction of one of my fathers legs.

I watched him trip, galling forwards. He was hanging off the building with one hand. "Help me." He grunted.

"I can't." I turned to walk away. "You know, Dahyun would still be missing if it wasn't for me."

"Oh yeah? Well she wouldn't have been missing in the first place if it wasn't for you either." I scoffed. "I'm the one who took the diamonds out. You were in a lot of pain. I helped you." This caught my attention. "What do you mean?"

"You don't know what I mean? Why don't you help me up? Then, I'll tell you." His hand was slowly slipping. "C'mon, help your father out." His breaths became heavier. "Goodbye father." I watched his wrinkly hand slip. There wasn't a scream but just the sudden sound of a body hitting a surface.

I didn't dare peer over the edge. I didn't want to see him. "Nari!" I suddenly realized. I ran down the stairs too impatient to wait for the elevator. "Nari!" I exclaimed pushing the hotel room door open. Her head was leaking even more blood. The red liquid was seeping into the bedsheets. Her face and skin was pale, her facial expression; undisturbed.

"Nari?" I held her hand. It was ice cold. Her blank face and lack of pulse, indicated that she passed.

Kind of sad chapter. I feel like the book is getting worse and worse as time goes on. Sorry! 😞
